Appointed property to attractions at Birr. Fone comfortable accommodation. You must try the tapas restaurant within the hotel.

There wasn’t anything not to like!

The location was great, rooms were fine, and the breakfast was good. The host was friendly enough.

The guest house in of itself was fine, but there was no warning whatsoever that there is loud music blasting in the restaurant blasting starting in the afternoon to well past 11 pm. The rooms are right above the restaurant so it’s like trying to sleep in a nightclub. Also, since the rooms are above the restaurant, the rooms smell very much of cooking oil. I would not recommend this place for families or anyone who wants a good night sleep.

I felt The breakfast was nice and a good selection was available. .

The information about the parking was misleading. It was on street across the road, outside a shop. 4 vehicles might be accommodated. There was a crack in the bathroom sink and while hand-wash lotion was available, no shower gel or soap was available. The shampoo container was not full and l wonder was it not replaced after the last occupant. I wasn't sure if the table cloth was stained. I was asked to pay immediately upon arrival before l even saw the room which l thought was a little unusual.

Bedroom was a pleasant surprise in that it was olde world furniture which brought back old time memories of my grandparents.

Very minor things like A few stains in the toilet, and one of the table salt cellars were not clean - had to put it to the side as it was putting me off the excellent food.

We liked the comfort it was like home away from home,breakfast was excellent staff totally lovely bed really comfy overall a great stay and pub across the road the fighting cocks was very lively anyone who stays at townsend should visit it very deceiving from The outside looks small but it's a lovely place

Staff were great. We were met with welcome, kindness and made feel like valued guest. The Homested has a unique Irish feel and the bed was comfy. The morning breakfast came with the purchase or room and the meal was a 10 out of 10, we were very pleased.

The only thing I will say is that our room was a little cold even with the heating on. However, being as I am married to an Irish Man and being in this Country on more than one occasion I know that their heating systems are not what I am use to. We did let the staff know and she passed that along to the Manager, the staff was upmost apologetic and I am comfortable saying that everything else was on par.
