Quando entri nella Villa e apri la porta di legno di grandi dimensioni a questa spaziosa villa di 5166 piedi quadrati / 480 metri quadrati e sarete accolti con un ampio ingresso a pianta aperta e un salotto con pavimenti in travertino e pareti completamente vetrate che si affacciano sulla piscina e bellissimi paesaggi giardino.
Al secondo piano sono soffitti a volta a 18 metri di altezza con ventilatori in tutta la villa per trarre vantaggio dal flusso di brezza di raffreddamento dall'oceano e dalla valle accanto alla proprietà.
Ci sono due zone dinning all'interno con pareti rivestite da pavimento a soffitto mentre l'altra è all'aperto sotto il grande patio coperto con un ampio tavolo da pranzo in legno che si affaccia sulla funzionalità dell'acqua surriscaldata, che fluisce dolcemente in piscina.
La spaziosa cucina completamente attrezzata GOURMET è dotata di tutto ciò che è necessario per soddisfare grandi famiglie o gruppi. Dispone di un'Isola Colazione con piani in granito e specialmente mobili artigianali moderni in legno.

We booked our week at La Libulela well in advance to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary with our two sons and daughters-in-law. When we saw the pictures of the house and its location overlooking the Pacific on the south coast of Costa Rice on VRBO, we were sure this was the place we wanted to be for our anniversary. We arrived at La Libulela in the early evening after flights from three different places, and then took an almost 4hour drive in pouring rain most of the way. Needless to say we were exhausted, but we were met by Licho at an agreed gas station, who then guided us to the house. We definitely needed our 4x4 SUV to get there, but upon arrival Licho's wife, Darling, had (by pre-arrangement) the most delicious traditional Costa Rican dinner prepared for us. She cooked for us 5 nights of our 7 night stay. All were special. The house, pool, and grounds were even beyond our expectations, which were very high. Having three king-sized beds in our three beautiful en-suite bedrooms was wonderful. Our week flew by, with walks on the beach, ATV adventures, coffee farm tour, seeing a mother and baby finback whales, water falls exploration with a sloth sighting, relaxing in and by the pool part of every day day, visits to the house by a large white-face monkey family, as well as toucans and macaws, anniversary dinner at a restaurant right on the ocean, and most especially the warmth, welcome and friendship of our hosts, Licho and Darling. Truly a magical week.

Our family of 6 stayed at La Libelula in July and had the most wonderful experience there. The home and grounds are gorgeous! We loved the sounds of the jungle surrounding us. Licho helped with all the details including activity planning and rental car arrangements. Do get a 4x4, very nice to have especially if it rains. Darling cooked us two meals during our stay and they were delicious! The enchiladas were a favorite. The vacation was completely stress free thanks to Nicolas, Licho, and Darling. As others have reviewed, they were available if we needed them for anything, but always discreet. Truly the most kind and precious people! There are lots of restaurants in Uvita and nearby Dominical, we especially loved La Choza De Alejo and Los Laureles (The owner, Cindy, is so sweet and be sure to go on Thursday to enjoy the cinnamon buns!). Check out Catarata waterfall and try the natural water slide. We also loved waterfall repelling, the jungle ATV tour, and snorkeling. Honestly, you can't go wrong! We fell in love with Uvita, this home, and Licho and Darling. We would go back in a heartbeat!!

The house was amazing, plenty of space for everyone. The pool and patio spaces were wonderful. We woke up to birds and butterflies daily. We got lucky and got to see a troop of monkeys on the property one afternoon. The house was stocked with everything we needed. The driveway is very steep as the house is on a hill. There is a house manager on property who was helpful and kind. Be prepared to enjoy paradise.

This house was great. We loved Uvita. It had a good view of the beach. The pool was fantastic as well as all the outdoor space. We liked having two separate living areas inside the house, one upstairs and one downstairs. We found it super convenient to the grocery store, the beach, restaurants and then a short distance to the Uvita waterfall, horseback riding and surf lessons. The on-site property manager was great with answering all our questions we had through our the stay. Super fun trip!

Our family of 10 people stayed from May 6th to May 16th. The home was beautiful, spacious, clean and well maintained. The beautiful pool and yard made us feel like we were at our own personal Resort. We had so much fun enjoying all the indoor and outdoor amenities. My 2.5 year old, and 7 year old granddaughters loved the pool, as did all of us. Especially after coming home from a hot humid excursion. The pool was welcome relief to the heat and humidity. Lichio and Darling were amazing hosts and catered to every need or question that we had. They also made us two tasty dinners! Much better than going out for dinner (which was mostly disappointing). The home is large and well designed for our large family. It was a great home base while exploring the Costa Rican rainforest and other touristy options nearby. We all hope to visit again someday in the near future. I give this a 10 out of 10 !

The home is beautiful and the view is amazing. There are several outdoor dining and "hang out" areas that just add to the experience. The pool was perfect - our family was in it all the time. It is a short drive to Uvita (5 minutes). But the best part is Nicholas, Licho and Darling. They make sure your every need is covered and make you feel like family. Would 1000% stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay! The home is simply fabulous! The many outdoor spaces were the highlight of our trip! We loved spending our afternoons hanging out in the pool and enjoying the sounds of the rainforest!
Licho and Darling were so sweet and handled all of our requests within minutes! This home is the definition of Puravida! We are already making plans to return!

La Libelula is a very special place and we are grateful to have spent 10 days there. The home is enormous and beautiful, but the pièce de résistance is the stunning pool and garden. The landscaping is thoughtful and perfect—truly a paradise. The pool is very large and well maintained. It seems magically so, but it comes down to the care and diligence of Licho, the onsite property manager, who I saw discreetly cleaning the pool before dawn. The pool temp is perfect. From reading in the shallows to dodgeball, we enjoyed it multiple times a day.
The garden has so many special places to sit that our biggest vacation challenge was adequately taking advantage of them all. Our favourite was the bird watching platform which somehow always managed to be largely shaded, and got a light breeze being perched over a large hill. We moved the rocking chairs there, under the umbrella and saw loads of birds- macaws, parrots, parakeets, toucans, hummingbirds, tanagers, great kiskadees, and more —plus howler monkeys.
We also particularly loved: lunching in the rancho; the sofa area by the pool; and the hammocks.
Licho and Darling are lovely people. Always there for you while affording you total privacy. We enjoyed Darling’s meals, especially her guacamole and pico de gallo.
Each bed/ensuite is comfortable, large and has ample storage.
Location is perfect--close to Uvita but doesn’t feel so.
The home was clearly designed and built as a labour of love. Thank you for sharing it with us.

We spent 10 days here and would recommend it to anyone. We travelled with 3 other couples (8 people total) and the house was perfect. Some house highlights we loved were the massive pool, outdoor dining areas, open air main floor and that every bedroom had an ensuite with ice cold air conditioning. We enjoyed seeing monkeys pass by the pool daily in the late afternoons as well as toucans and macaws. An absolute must is ordering dinner from Darling and Licho, they were incredible hosts and a real asset to have. They live next door and have perfected making you feel like you’re in your own private oasis while also making sure your stay is tidy and the property is maintained flawlessly. We can’t wait to return.

I’m almost at a loss about where to start. The home owner has thought of everything. There is nothing we wanted for. Outdoor and indoor spaces were lovely. The pool area alone made the stay worth it. So many birds to see from the viewing deck. Toucans coming very close.
A great meal from Darling, and licho was so friendly and helpful, even bringing a generator when the power was out for several hours.
And their little cat added to our enjoyment.

I traveled with family, an elderly couple and teenage boys. The house is definitely gorgeous with breathtaking views and a beautiful outdoor area. I will list the good and the bad.
Cons
*No Central AC- ductless air conditioners are provided in each room but there is no AC on the first floor. Upon my arrival, one of the AC's would not blow cold air. A technition was out that same evening to add refrigerant.
*Gate control did not work- Had to wait 8 to 10 minutes for the main gate to open and close; the control was exchanged the following day.
*Indoor Jacuzzi did not work. Filled up the tub excited to relax just to find out the jets do not turn on.
*Outdoor Jacuzzi did not work- notified Darling, no response.
*Refridgerator leaking water/freezer shelf broken- notified Darling who placed a towel underneath to prevent any slips.
*No toilterties provided such as, shampoo and conditioner.
*No paper towels/napkins provided. We ordered dinner one night, which was delicious, only thing missing was napkins.
*No bathroom on the main floor, bathrooms are only located upstairs.
*No coffee, water filter or herbs/spices.
*Power goes in and out (normal). Had to restart washer/dryer, which is located outside the home.
*No light cleaning provided. Beds were never made on the second day as promoted
*Beds are hard and not comfortable.

What hasn’t been said previously? The house, outside areas, pool, and view are all beautiful - hard to capture in pictures. Licho and Darling (the caretakers who live in a house up the hill from the villa) are just wonderful people. A week prior to arrival, Licho lined up a great snorkeling/whale watching trip and an awesome ATV trip to waterfalls and a coffee plantation. He met us at the edge of town and led us to the villa. He is so warm, friendly, funny, and helpful - he really adds to the experience. We had them prepare meals for us twice, and Darling really is an exceptional cook. The chicken enchiladas in particular were out of this world - so good! They cook at their place and drop it off at 6:30. There is a menu in the kitchen to choose from - definitely worth doing. Uvita itself is small - you’ll learn your way around quickly, and there are some good places to eat. The Uvita Waterfall was a good visit. Hanging around the pool, enjoying the sights and sounds was great, too. Perfect place for that! Do get a 4x4 for your rental car - the pavement ends well before you get to the very cool automatic gates leading to the driveway and up to the house. The extra traction is nice and I’d worry somewhat going up the steep hills without it, but you really need the better ground clearance around Uvita. We had such a wonderful, relaxing stay. Even the weather was great - mostly blue skies and sunshine.

La Libelula is a beautiful 4BR, 4BA home with great views of the ocean. It's very well maintained and has a great kitchen fully stocked if you like to cook. An amazing pool, outdoor kitchen and plenty of seating for everyone. There were 7 of us and had plenty of room. It was the perfect location for all kinds of excursions! Licho provided us with rental car reservations and arranged all of our excursions. His wife Darling is an awesome cook, she'll cook your meals for $40 plus groceries, which was awesome! They were both friendly and professional, providing excellent concierge service!
We had the best vacation and would highly recommend staying here!

La Libelula was perfect for our family gathering of 8 of us. The home is located just outside of town making it convenient for us to get to stores beach etc. The large pool and many sitting areas offer a variety of cool areas to hang out. Licho was great, he was there if you needed him and made himself scarce when you wanted to be alone. The number of Toucans visiting each day was astounding. We would recommend this house for larger groups and families.

We were thrilled with every aspect of our stay at the beautiful La Libelula. As beautiful as the photos are, it’s even more spectacular in person.
Absolutely everything you could need for your stay is provided. The bedrooms are beautiful, spacious and comfortable with air conditioning and 3 have their own private balcony. The kitchen is well- stocked with every small appliance you would need and plenty of dishes and glassware. The living spaces provide beautiful spaces to gather with family and friends.
The outdoor space and pool area are stunning, surrounded with lush tropical plants and with gorgeous views. It’s like your own peaceful, private oasis. We spent time here every day relaxing and listening to the birds and howler monkeys. We even had a group of monkeys one day in the trees right next to the house!
Nicolas was wonderful as a host. Very responsive and helpful. Licho and Darling were so kind and helpful during our stay with anything we needed.
We will definitely return to Costa Rica and stay at La Libelula again and highly recommend this property as an ideal place for family and friends to stay!

We cannot imagine a better place to stay while exploring Uvita and the surrounding area. The home is spacious (we had ten total people staying), beautiful, and nestled in a perfect location with the Pacific and jungle views. You are immersed in the sounds of the jungle and will see many birds and animals. There are numerous living and relaxing spaces, several dining spaces, and each bedroom has its own bathroom. It was perfect for two families. The pool is HUGE and the 6 kids we had with us (ages 8-16) swam at least two hours a day. The beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler, and boogie boards were so appreciated. The manager was very responsive leading up to our stay and helped answer questions about the area to prepare for our trip. He also checked in during our stay to make sure all was well.
The real gems of the property, however, are Licho and Darling, the on site caretakers. We had travel delays due to weather and Licho kindly met us in town at 1 am to lead us to the property and show us around. He also answered any questions we had and was very responsive. It was wonderful knowing he was close by and available if we needed anything. He also makes beautiful carrot flowers for salads 😁
Darling is an amazing chef! I wish she would write a cookbook so I could try (and likely fail) to make dishes half as tasty as hers. We hired her to prepare traditional Costa Rican meals for us nearly every night of our stay. Casado, chicken rice, fresh fish, gazpacho, chifrijo, and chevichi, potato soup, and so much more…I could go on and on about the perfect mix of flavors and the presentation. Truly the best food we have ever had. One night we decided to go into town for a dinner. We all agreed Darling’s food was far superior and relaxing in the outdoor spaces at the house eating her cuisine was the way to go. We highly recommend hiring Darling for your meals. You will be so glad you did, especially after busy day outings when you’re tired and want to relax.
Our families also recommend outings with Bahai Aventuras in Uvita and a coffee plantation tour at Cafe Don Amelio up the mountain from the house about 30-45 minutes. Lock in your 4 wheel drive and have an adventure on a coffee plantation with a wonderful family. The Uvita waterfall water slide was also a huge hit!
Enjoy your time at this magnificent property. We loved every aspect of it and the Uvita area is splendid.

Everything about this house was absolutely wonderful. It was so clean and beautiful. The pool and the area around it was phenomenal. The drive in is a little rough. Very steep and rough roads. Was definitely helpful to have an SUV. Licho, the host on property, was so helpful and attentive. He helped us book multiple activities, such as horseback riding on the beach, zip lining, kayaking, and an ATV ride. His wife, Darling, cooked us dinner one night, and it was delicious! Highly recommend having her cook, you at least one meal. We can’t wait to come back someday!

What a wonderful time my husband and I and our 4 kids had staying here. It's an amazing place to stay. We spent most of our time outside by the beautiful pool. There are a lot of different areas to enjoy outside and breathtaking view. We enjoyed multiple meals that we had Darling cook for us and Licho was so nice to work with. It truly was the Best Vacation for the entire family.

The house was great. This was our second stay at La Libelula. We took our kids in 2014 and it has been our favorite vacation since so we had to go back and do it all again with them as adults. So fun! Lucho and Darling cooked for us one night and it was amazing. Probably our best meal during our stay. Views are wonderful and close to the middle of town for restaurants, groceries, beaches and activities.

This home and the property manager (Licho) we’re outstanding. The home exceeded our expectations. We were a group of 8 (two families) who enjoyed everything about the home. It was well equipped, had large rooms and a stunning outdoor space. From the moment we arrived until we left 5 days later, we felt we were living a dream. I’d highly recommend you have Licho’s wife, Darling cook for you. We had originally agreed for her to cook one meal (dinner) but before we finished our meal we were asking for the same meal the following night.

The pictures don't lie. This property is simply amazing with countless amenities. Nicolas is a great host and very proud to share his house with others to enjoy. Lecho is there in minutes to help with anything and Darling makes delicious food. The house is immaculate but my favorite is all of the outdoor space to eat, enjoy and relax. The landscaping is beautiful and lush. The gated entrance looks like something from a movie. We even saw Howler and white faced monkeys as well as a few Toucan's. This place is unforgettable and we hope to be back in the future.

Amazing getaway!
There was plenty of spaces for our 2 families which included 6 teenagers (12-15). The villa was very clean and well maintained by Licho and Darling. They also gave us great advice for site seeing in the area. Our host Nicolas made sure to check if we were enjoying our stay. The Villa is more beautiful than the pictures. My only advice is to make sure that you have a 4x4 vehicle to access the Villa, there is a very steep hill to climb. I would recommend the Villa to all my friends and family!

La Libelula! You are a part of us now!
I don't know how a house can invoke such strong feelings, but we leave La Libelula and Uvita with our hearts full of affection after a week that we will never forget. Thank you Nicolas, Licho, and Darling for providing our family with such a wonderful experience. Licho and Darling were there to take care of every need but you hardly knew they were there at the same time. The house and property were amazing, clean, and beautiful. Uvita offered our family of 8 (including 2 young children ages 2 and 10 months) all of the excitement and beauty of Costa Rica without the "touristy feeling". Darling's food was the best we had in Costa Rica, which is saying a lot because the Uvita restaurants that we visited were excellent! The pool, the views, the endless sitting areas for conversation or relaxing, the jungle , the animals, the sounds.......I could go on and on. I just read several of the 5 star reviews previously posted and agree with all of the positive statement made. Anyone who visits La Libelula will want to return! My heart is full!

Absolutely lovely!
We enjoyed every minute of this stay. Nicolas was extremely responsive and so kind to wait up for us after delayed travel! Litchi and Darling were so sweet and attentive. We felt like we made new friends. The property is gorgeous, a perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of Costa Rican touring, or to simply just enjoy the pool and views!

Absolutely loved it!
Amazing property with all the comforts and the best outdoor area of any VRBO we have rented. Super smooth check in. Nicolas went above and beyond even finding a floaty for the 5 yr old in our party. Licho and Darling took care of much more than we expected and cooked us several fantastic meals. Easy to access, but feels like a private retreat. We saw monkeys, a sloth, toucans, parrots and more from the property. We will be back!

Truly a tropical gem!
This property was amazing! The indoor and outdoor living area was perfect, it had plenty of room for everyone to spread out and do their own thing and it was really close to town. We couldn't have stayed in a better place and I highly recommend having Darling cook a typical Costa Rican dinner for you while you're there, it's amazing! Another bonus is having the howler monkeys right next to the property. We finally were able to spot a group in the trees on the last full day we were there. We would definitely book this place again and highly recommend it!

Paradise!
We had an amazing vacation with our family in this beautiful home! We felt like we were staying at a resort. The outside space and views were absolutely breathtaking! We spent most of our time outside around the pool or enjoying all the awesome spaces to relax and take in the view. Nicolas was very helpful and answered all of our questions, and the caretakers, Licho and Darling, were great! They took care of all our needs, and Darling cooked us amazing food! Your own private oasis!
Everything about this house is wonderful. It’s all you see in the photos but more. We have stayed in many VRBO homes and this is our favorite. It really is like your own oasis. There are so many outdoor seating options that it’s like your living space is doubled. We spent a lot of time outside watching the wildlife and enjoying the pool. We saw multiple toucans and many other birds every day. Howler monkeys were our alarm clock each morning.
Licho and Darling are the caretakers and they are both very special people. They make you feel right at home. I highly recommend having Darling cook your meals. She is a fantastic cook! Kitchen is well stocked. We did our excursions early each day (whale watching, Nauyaca, Sierpe Mangtove tour and zip lining) then we came back mid day to relax and enjoy the house. Darling prepared our meals each night and brought them over at 6:30. Really nice to be able to stay in and enjoy a great meal at a very reasonable price. Licho took us to our whale watching tour and picked us up when our rental car wasn’t ready.
Nicholas was always available for any assistance we needed. I love staying in Uvita. It’s not as busy as Manuel Antonio but is still an easy drive to excursions. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

Best Choice
I've been to Costa Rica a few times before and this was the best property experience I have had in Central America. The Villa was tucked away in the jungle with wildlife everywhere (monkey, sloth, toucan, parrots and lizards). The villa itself was absolutely stunning and super comfortable at the same time. The support staff Licho and his wife were available anytime we needed them to include some amazing dinners. We had 4 adults and all of us had our own rooms and bathrooms. The common areas were great looking and super comfortable. The views over the pacific ocean were spectacular. I do recommend waking up in the middle of the night and seeing the star filled skies while listening to nature. I travel internationally 4 times a year and this was a top 10 visit in the past 20 years. I recommend this location to anyone that wants to be at a great villa in a perfect little town of Uvita where the food is delicious, all the activities are available but your not in a big tourist town. Amazing home and the best host ever
This house is everything that you see in the pictures and read in the description and so much more. We spent two weeks with three generations - my wife and I three of our adult kids and 4 grandchildren 4 - 10 years old. This property is amazing and was perfect for us. Most nice CR properties have a pool but in most other cases the pool if more architectural - not functional for families. The pool and surrounding facilities is amazing - the grandkids never wanted to get out. The pool was about 75 feet by 35 feet and was kept perfectly clean and includes all kinds of pool floats, noodles, etc. The house includes high-end furnishings throughout, beautiful stone and wood floors, high wooden ceilings in all bedrooms, luxurious bathrooms... I could go on and on - but we stay in a lot of nice places around the world and this is right at the top of our list for favorite places. One more very important aspect of this home. There are two caretakers (a couple) who live on the same 4 acre compound and are dedicated to keeping everything clean and running smoothly. They are the most pleasant, kind and helpful people anywhere and their presence really enhanced our stay. For example, one of our rental vehicles got a flat tire. As I started to change it one of the caretakers saw me doing this and rushed over to help me. Amazing. The value is that the caretakers are also available to make dinner for you at a very reasonable fee of $30 for a dinner. That includes the shopping for the meal, preparing it, delivering it and cleaning up after. Just pay them the $30 and pay for the groceries (they give you a receipt for their purchases). Our average cost for a meal including the $30 was under $100 USD! The meals were fabulous, Fresh ingredients, great taste, etc. I highly recommend the ceviche. We are foodies and I would put these meals up against any restaurant in the Uvita - Dominical area. As you may know, gathering up 9 people including kids and going out to find a restaurant every night gets old very fast. For us on this trip, for most nights we counted on dinner being prepared for us and delivered at 6:30 - what a luxury! In summary, we can't wait to go back to stay in this house again next year and right now are working on a list of what family and friends we want to invite to join us. The combinations of this amazing property and the wonderful care from the on-site caretakers beats anything else that you will find in this area.

Beyond Perfect
This home is spectacular in every way! Nicolas, the property owner assisted us with everything from arranging a private transfer service to activities and restaurants.
Lecho and his wife Darling live on the property (in a different residence) and they too are professional and lovely in every manner. Darling cooked a meal for us and it was delicious!
This property is so special....I would give it more than 5 stars if I could! I highly recommend this home if you are looking for paradise without the noise and commotion of other people.

Better than 5 stars
La Libelula, is everything as described, pictures show and past reviews state. Nicholas, Licho and Darling make sure the guests are comfortable and have everything they need for a wonderful stay. Nicholas-greeted us upon arrival and departure, going above and beyond with helping us reschedule a tour, communicating with the airlines due to lost luggage, checking in on us during bad weather. Licho- keeping the pool, house clean, driving us in town to get the rental car, helping with any directions or other immediate information, Darling- cleaning the house and cooking delicious dinners for our group of 10.
Our stay was AMAZING!! our first morning we had capuchin monkeys, parrots, toucans greet us. We also saw iguanas, crabs, numerous other colorful birds, and we could hear the howler monkeys in the distance
We used every seating area in the backyard: coffee by the sofa/chair and table, dinners at both tables, lounge chairs overlooking the ocean for relaxing, round table with chairs for viewing the wildlife, hammocks for napping and of course the pool and whirlpool for cooling off and just hanging out. The house is spacious and comfortable enough, that everyone (6 adults, 4 teenagers) had their own area to relax or be together in separate groups. There are plenty of things to do in and around Uvita: Alturas Sanctuary, fishing, ATV tour, waterfalls!! Manuel Antonio (1 hr away), to name a few. This was an incredible stay, and we hope to be back in the future.

Exceeding expectaions
Nicholas was a wonderful host who has created a villa in the tropics which is perfectly perched above the town of Uvita. We were two visiting families with 9 guests. The grounds were perfectly kept up and the home exceeded our expectations. Everything you need to enjoy a family holiday was there including a large swimming pool, several break out hang out spots and several tables for large dinner gatherings. We were also pleasantly surprised with the town of Uvita. Not to big or small and well located for daily adventures. There were also several nice restaurants in the area which offered great atmosphere and local dishes. We would love to go back to Uvita and if we did, Nicholas compound is where we would go to again. We absolutely loved our time in Uvita and at the house. 5/5 for sure!
