A very comfortable and well appointed cottage, small but with everything I needed. The bed was very comfy, the shower excellent and the kitchen very clean and well equipped. Gilwern itself seemed friendly, fairly quiet in the evening but with a pub and small supermarket within very easy walking distance..There is easy access to the Heads of Valley road making it a great location for exploring the Brecon Beacons. As a lone traveller, I loved it.

There isn't very much parking within the village except that recommended by the owner, which is free but about 100m away. The locals suggested I should use the on street parking, which I did, relying on their view that restrictions to parking were rarely monitored by traffic wardens. However, I might just have been lucky!

Location, quirkiness. Well equipped.

Needed a deep clean, lots of dust in corners, and some cobwebs.

Problemen met internet, vrij klein.

The parking some nights a long way down the road. Very noisy traffic 6.00am so never sleep to 8.30.

Location was great, highly recommend Tge Beaufort pub for food and drinks. Lovely welcome pack. Great shower, small but well equipped kitchen, comfy bed.

Parking was only available in the village car park as extremely busy directly outside the cottage, especially if The Towpath pub was open. Not a major issue as it was free to park but it was a few mins walk away. As the weather was so hot while we stayed, it did get very warm in the bedroom, improved greatly with a fan.

Quiet ,friendly, lovely location, beautiful views and walks

We had an amazing holiday in South Wales and absolutely loved this little cottage. It was cosy and comfortable with a great shower. It was also in a lovely wee village with pubs and a shop to hand and right next to a scenic canal walk. I would strongly recommend staying at The Old Stable.

Everything was perfect.
