superb location, nice room

There were no reception, so I had to put my suitcase back in the car and walk to another hotel… not a big problem- but had I known I could have stopped at the other hotel in my car

Very close to the beach, lovely building. Room was functional

Staff were rather brusque and unfriendly. The Hotel seems to cater to an elderly and retiree clientele. Evening concerts on the promenade can be quite loud.

The rooms were excellent

Hadn't appreciated that this appears to be an annexe of a hotel approximately 250 metres away and very poorly signposted from this location (no map and nothing in English or any other language). We saw no staff as check in was at a different hotel, apart from at breakfast, and no bar. Basically just a bed and breakfast with good rooms which isn't made very clear. Fine for a night but very expensive compared to far superior hotels stayed at in Germany.

The rooms were very pleasant.

The main problem was finding where to check in - there was a notice in German only that implied if no-one was around we should check in at another hotel - the address was quoted but no map. We assumed that it was almost next door but there was no entrance from the road we were in and spent 20 frustrating minutes trying to find the said hotel which was much further away than anticipated - a map on the door would have solved the problem. With no restaurant (apart from breakfast room) or bar it was expensive compared to other hotels we stayed in on the same trip of comparable or higher standard.
