Well Presented hotel. Town is characterful

Photos are a little flattering. When we were there there was Kneelength weeds and grass around the swimming pool. We Arrived hot and tired, at 1430. we were not permitted into our rooms as Check in is 1700, so we asked if we could use the deck and pool whilst we waited, but were told we had to sit in the car park (we were on bicycles). Unfortunately this coloured our view of the hotel

Wonderful welcome at reception. Considering we spoke minimal French the receptionist was super lovely and accommodating. Centre of town, near parking and clean basic room

Little bit of dust under the bed but other than that it was fine- partner is sucespitable to dust so other than that was great!

Situation..endroit calme..

It seems somewhat churlish to write an at best moderately pleased review of this small hotel in the centre of Aix-les-Bains, not least because the welcome I received was genuinely friendly and I do wish them well. But in all honesty, the place does have a slightly dilapidated feel to it, which I'll come to in a moment. On the plus side though, it is very conveniently located, it is clean, and someone is clearly making an effort to give it some character. My room was of a decent size, and everything worked, as far as I could tell. So, so far, so good.

I can't get away from the impression that what this place needs is an injection of zest and some freshness, which probably also means a bit of investment in some basic renovations. Everything looks and feels a little tired. The plant on the balcony – which could be a nice feature – was dead, there was a patch of damp in an otherwise fairly clean bathroom where the floor also came off in places, and I can't imagine there couldn't be some less obviously cheap and less plastic furniture to be found anywhere in France for not much money. It feels like the hotel is stuck somewhere in the early 1980s and could do with a whole set of new – by all means simple and inexpensive – ideas just to bring it into the 21st century...

It’s the second time we stay here and we really like it. It’s right in the centre of Aix les Bains. The rooms are confortable and clean and the staff is friendly.

Comfortable bed - slept well. In centre of town.
