Couldn’t fault this place

Breakfast was stupendous and personalized service was exquisite.

Room, breakfast service, prompt emails, location

most amazing view and surrounds. Unique World Heritage site.

No parking - had to leave car outside city wall.

Lovely hotel with a perfect location in the old town, a wonderful onsite Trattoria (went there repeatedly), and most of all, a staff which were accommodating, extremely pleasant and polite, efficient and effective -- i.e., perfect. This was a truly wonderful stay

Fabulous hotel in wonderful building right in the old city of Mdina. Very comfortable room - especially the bed. Lovely kind attentive staff. Delicious breakfast. Great communal spaces with superb views in every direction right across the island.

Our room was a little hot for us. Also we had a few mosquitoes in the room - even after the staff had sprayed.

Nice located palazzo in Mdina. Staff very helpful and doing everything they can to make you feel comfortable. Roof terrace amazing!

Although a five star hotel, it didn’t feel like it, because of the hotel lobby, bit outdated. we had to switch rooms, staff was very helpful but we didn’t expect such inconvenience. Breakfast just continental, they could have included the extra’s you have to pay for , fe the English breakfast. Again, staff was very nice!

No better location than this Xara Palace for one night stay in Mdina.

room cleaning should be improved

I've never stayed in a hotel quite like this one. It was scenic and very regal within the Palace. The surrounding area is breathtaking. You can't help but want to learn all about the history of Malta. We thoroughly enjoyed that our room was set over 2 floors. It made it that much special. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was excellent. The best hot chocolate I've ever had.

We didn't stay long enough. 1 night is not enough. Inclusive breakfast only covers continental. You have to pay an extra cost for full English if you request. Despite the expenses, it will be a stay that we will remember with fond memories.

Amazing location, beautiful property

Location. Nice old building.

Facilities are poor or non-existent. Most importantly there is no pool. It’s somewhere else in a different hotel, and even that is closed for most of the year. You need a car to get to it. The hotel knows the marketing is misleading, but intentionally do not remedy this. Scroll back through reviews from one or two years ago, and you can see this has been raised multiple times by guests. There is a small terrace you can sit at instead, but the chairs are uncomfortable and there is no drink or food service available there. The gym is very small. Also the bar was closed 100% of the time that we stayed. It was fenced if with a sort of metal railing. So basically, it is marketed as 5 stars, but in reality you just get a room. The positive reviews are the people who paid extra for a terrace room.

Everything! Imdina the location is one of my favourite cities in the whole world and the hotel’s charm is evident in every nook and cranny. Once you are inside it is like you are living history. The staff are amazing, totally professional and totally motivated. I got a smile and a friendly from all if them! The room was beautiful and so spacious. I was also so pleasantly surprised by the two beautiful gifts I was given during my stay! And last but not least, the De Mondion restaurant was literally the cherry on the cake 🙂…thank you and I will definitely be returning!

There was nothing I didn’t like.

at the entrance to the town could not be bettered as a location. The room on two floors our needs. Breakfast on those days we took it was delicious and in a stupendous setting. service was delightful, particularly the overall welcomer.

breakfast felt a bit mean, requiring pre-order and no open buffet to tempt the taste buds. toast only available as part of a full cooked breakfast.

Set breakfast overlooking Malta. Terrific location in old Mdina. Wonderful personnel.

staff amazing, so helpful and when knew it was our honeymoon we got a bottle of bubbly delivered to our room. Breakfast was exceptional as were the views. Would definitely stay again

room design, ac placement, mirror placements opp bright windows, junk equipment I the gym (if one can call a room with three junk pieces of equipment as a gym )...

loved the location .. the castle itself and the room and the staff were fab so kind caring and every need catered for ..we were on honey moon and they went above and beyond
