Location is great if ypu are not staying a Saturday night as there a is a lot of noise from the street and clubs. You can walk everywhere and has many bus stops nearby.

The location is just in the old town, so centrical place. The staff is fantastic, absolutely helpful and friendly. It's nice that they provide coffee and biscuits in the morning Very good air conditioning, and excellent views from the terrace

This is NOT a hotel, but a hostel. That's why the price is low. Building is beautiful, but in poor state. Furniture in the room is good for a hostel, but didn't expect not being able to open the wardrobe because there's no room for the door to open, and bathroom rather antiquated and noisy. Old town full of homeless people at night

The breakfast was almost non-existent. Also noisy in the morning... You can hear everything going on in the whole building including the lift.

Staff fantastic, very helpful, room lovely, little terrace at top of building. Comfy solid bed. Aircon pretty quiet. Internet fine. Would stay here again, especially due to staff as there were a few bits we forgot and they helped with, and gave us directions, ordered taxis etc making it all a lot easier. Everything felt safe here, leaving belongings etc. Maybe a little old fashioned but in a good way we like.

The property was very conveniently located. It had a beautiful old-style, wrought iron elevator and a small but nice rooftop patio. The room also had some nice old touches like the crown molding. The bathroom was a good size (compared to others we encountered on our SA adventures) and the shower had excellent water pressure. The receptionist who greeted us provided a map and lots of helpful advice about sights nearby. My friend enjoyed the coffee available near reception each morning.

While beautiful, the elevator was ultimately very slow and sometimes didn't come at all. The furniture in the room showed some wear - particularly a velvet arm chair. While it fit with the antique-y theme, I would probably remove it at that stage of dilapidation. Our room's bathroom when we arrived wasn't fully clean (there was hair on the floor and in the shower), and the waste basket's pedal opening mechanism was broken so it was awkward to use. We removed the wastebasket's top to make it easier for us (and hoping the whole thing would be replaced by housekeeping) but they just set the top back on (broken) in its inconvenient state again. And not the hotel's fault, but the entire 1.5 days we were visiting, one couple monopolized the rooftop deck - they and their belongings were spread out there every time we checked - so we didn't feel like we were welcome to use it.

Homeless everywhere.they are drugged and have no fear. They have nothing to risk so imagine the rest. If I wouldnt travel so much I could afford an armored swat tank to drive around montevideo and not feel insecure 😂 Other than that I asked for a room with a small terrace(the ones that are on the 6th floor but staff said they are 'reserved' 😂 (been there for 4 nights) Unfortunately montevideo is not a safe city, imho one of the shadiest one in south america.no police present. The only one where I felt insecure walking in ciudad vieja or center .... (been to bogota, san paolo, lima buenos aires santiago etc) Urine smell at the main entrance down there Other than that excellent option

a little gem near the gate taking you to old city. we had the top floor room with a little terrace and amazing view. there was not breakfast - but they offered coffee and cake. bed and pillow comfortable

black out curtains would be good to have

Hotel is centrally located. The staff was extremely friendly. Rooms are quite large with a vintage feel. Free coffee available all day!

Friendly staff & very cool, antique elevator

Noise from the street and also noise from creaky doors, windows & elevator. Very thin walls.
