Old Abbey Cottage is a little gem, tucked away down a flowered twitten back from the road. It’s peaceful and private yet very close to the railway station, the town and beach. Worth noting some of the walking routes into town involve a moderate incline. The kitchen is well equipped with thoughtful touches and the washer dryer is a big bonus. The house is clean and the super king main bed is very comfortable. It’s made clear in the property description but worth noting as the only loo is in the bathroom upstairs which can be a challenge for those with mobility problems but the stairs are wide and shallow. Would definitely book again.

Everything was great: quiet location, clean rooms, beautiful beach (10 mins. walk), very nice and helpful owner.

Lovely host, really quick to respond. Fantastic cottage in a lovely location, so easy to walk up to the high street and beach. We particularly liked the wood burning stove and the selection of DVD’s was great.

Comfortable, cosy and clean

The close proximity to the centre of North Berwick.

The property was comfortable and had some nice features, however we felt all the beds should have mattress and pillow protectors. When we booked it stated that there was a garden and bbq, it did not say it was a shared garden. We did not feel it was worth what we paid, and I realise that North Berwick is more expensive but we felt it was not somewhere we would book again.

It was very well equipped convenient for North Berwick . The entrance was away from the road which made it very quiet. The property is a traditional Scottish home with an altogether welcoming feel . I will recommend it to friends .

The house is very comfortable and all the rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished. It's a real home from home: the kitchen is well equipped; the living room is a decent size, as are two of the bedrooms. It's in a quiet and friendly neighbourhood only minutes from the train station and then a few more minutes to west beach and the golf course.
