Finicky shower water control

Difficult parking, hard beds w only one pillow, NO hot water, noises, no screens in windows caused bugs, leaking toilet

Location, Location, Location. Few blocks from shops and eateries. Views to the mountains and beautiful in early morning. Breakfast was quick and good.

The shower hot water was not consistent. The hotel is on a hill and our room has some serious wind noises thru out the night.

I had the most incredible stay, perfect location with a clean and comfortable room and hot shower. Staff were always very kind. Look forward to returning!

The reception lady was awesome! The parking is a nightmare tho- you are on the side of a hill and it's sketchy trying to go in and leave.

Breakfast was simple, but great. Nice big hot shower. Beds were just fine. Great patio to look out at the mountains the the Receptionist was STELAR. So kind & helpful. Assisted us with booking some fun activities!

Breakfast was good, especially the fruit and coffee. Cleanliness was acceptable. Convenience to town.

Bath towels skimpy and few with no face cloths. No heat available and no extra bedding. We had a death in the family in the U.S.A. and had to leave after 2 nights and management wouldn't give any refund or concessions. We always expect to follow the customs and ways of whatever country we are in, but some English channels or allowing users to upload their own Netflix, as most other inns and hotels do, would have been very much appreciated. It felt that this facility was geared mostly to backpackers and young folks (and we are active seniors).

We were a late booking so were glad to find a place in the middle of town. Location was great - we could walk for dinner and shops and lots of choices. And right in the middle of all the tours - most pick you up from the hotel so we didn't use the cars once in 3 days. Staff super helpful - did all the bookings for us. Breakfast was good. And a cool little bar which were we could have a couple of beers while the kids played some of the games they had in there. Great views from up the hill. Would happily stay again.

Not enough places to dry wet clothes and shoes - may have been a communal place however. Shower was cold, but was warm enough weather to be little problem.

Grounds are great, personnel is friendly, the only reason I did not give it a 10 is because of the doors. The knuckle is too close to the wall, hurt my hand opening and closing washroom door. Otherwise location is excellent walking distance to downtown Santa Elena. Food here was great. Ample lounge rooms, great big terace to enjoy the views, shower was the best i had in Costa Rica!

I had traveled to Monteverde before so I knew Don Taco was “up town”…close to roads in and out of town…close to downtown. very clean, comfortable lodging. 4 choices for breakfast…strong coffee. Hot shower…plenty of pressure. great views of the rain and mist clouds coming over the mountains.

very nice, clean and decorative room with more or less functional swing, some things (Chairs, lamps) seemed a little DIY but with love to detail. Delicious breakfast options, staff was very reinforcing covid safety measures at breakfast. Location very near the center of Santa Elena. Share parking space with Mar Inn at the moment. we were very happy with our choice.

instead of the little bar table and non functional DIY chairs a little closet or something to put your stuff/clothes in would be more helpful/functional. room seemed a little smaller than on the photos.

Amazing terrace, nice restaurant/bar on site with friendly personell. All major attractions of Monteverde are easily reachable. They helped us above and beyond in organising a last minute tour at one of the cloud forrests.

Our rooms did not have heating and it did get quite cold high up. Also, wind is rather loudly heard in the apartment.

breakfast was excellent, very nice view from balcony,many birds to see. Monteverde is paradise! I hope next time by again in this hotel with balcony. The hotel can book excursions for you.

A little far from town.

They were able to accommodate a last minute booking and even offered me 2 different room options. Most staff spoke English and all staff were kind and helpful. Complimentary breakfast available and was consistently good.

staff is wonderful. they know a lot about the area and are very helpful planning any trips or activities (even the free ones). the view from the terrace is amazing. also it is quiet at night because there is no bars or restaurants next door, the main street with everything you need is just a 5 minutes walk away though. the rooms are very nice and the breakfast is good, there is 4 different options but they still adjust it to your needs if you ask them (vegetarian e.g.). wifi is constantly good.

sometimes in the evening hot water runs short, but that might be everyone showering at once. also keep in mind that the hotel is up on a hill - it's just a minute walk but quite steap if you have any problems walking.
