Wonderful staff, lovely location. Only 4 bungalows so its very peaceful and a 1 minute walk to the beach. There is a beautiful dog and cat that live onsite 😁😁

Owner Roxana is very honest and very helpful without being intrusive. She will give you all information you desire, arrange taxi's for you etc. The place is cosy, the rooms are nicely decorated, the courtyard feels like a little oasis as you enter. We also enjoyed the company of Tiger, the giant, affectionate dog - he's totally innocuous, don't fear! The place is very close to the beach and the village of Matemwe.

As the entire place is on the ground floor, there are no sea views and there is no wind, which made it very hot at the time we were there (late January- early February). Fortunately the courtyard is cosy and green. Matemwe is somewhat more expensive than some other locations on the island, but that is of course not the fault of Morningstar Bungalows!

Very close to the beach and to authentic restaurants. Breakfast was very good. Roxana was very accommodating.

There is is a huge dog on the premise. He's very friendly but if you are afraid of dogs, you should be aware.

the only thing to improve is probably not possible :D but outside sitting is very comfy however due to location and plants the air is not moving so it gets humid and super warm to enjoying sitting outside, or during evening there is too many mosquitos. maybe a fan would help with this? so this was not a big deal, just a thought for improvement :) thanks

Little bit hard to find for the non local taxi driver. Maybe put up a sign on the door.

breakfast was really good and room was clean and ready to go even though we got in very late. it was very helpful that they helped set up airport transfer too.

I had to pay in cash. i was told the website stated that, however i didn't recall it. it may have been my mistake that I didn't read that part, but it would have been easier to pay with a credit card. some of my change was given back to me in shillings even though they said they could give it to me in USD. no really a big problem though.

Owner is wonderful. I ended up extending by 2 days. Breakfast is lovely. Great location.

Everything was perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful , the room very clean and cozy, the breakfast good and literally a few meters from the beach. Highly recommend.

Cozy charming bungalow rooms at the amazing beach of Matemwe (local village, without shops). Small kitchen available for use. Breakfast is nice. Great location for diving to Mnemba (Eagle Ray dive center at 1min walk)! Thanks Roxana for hosting us.

Superclean and nice rooms with bathroom. The beach is only 50 m away and so white, that you can't walk without sunglasses. In the place you can use wi-fi, and also the kitchen, which has been very nice of Roxana, the friendly owner. It is, thanks to Tiger, the BIG but sooooo cute and friendly dog a very save place, I almost never closed my door. Some restaurants and the mini market are in walkable distance, but don't expect too much. It is a haven for coming down and relaxing, endless walks on the superb beach, but nothing for party people.

It was very hot in the room, but this depends on the season as well. But as you can leave everything open and the fan is doing a good job there is nothing to complain.

It's a very calm and charming place. I do recommend it to everyone. The beach is pretty close. It's one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen across the Island. There's a nice host who made our stay enjoyable and safe. Excellent.

No AC so it gets a little bit hot, but we did know that before coming.

Morningstar Bungalows has a super good location, 2 minutes away from the beach, perfect for couples or solo travelers. Roxana was super nice and friendly which made our stay perfect and we felt at home. highly recommended!

Super private and peaceful and close to the beach.

The host helped us with the transfer from and to the airport. The place is quiet and has a nice terrace.

The place was cosy but the future guests should have in mind that there is no door to the bathroom and the windows are very tipical for this area (only with mosquito net like a grid).

lovely bungalows, sheets pillows the best ever. lovely breakfast, made us an early packed bfast so we could go to the island early. good location. very comfortable and safe.

We found the harassment on the beach by the locals unbearable - so spent most of our time at the bungalows or exploring out in our car.

Great place run by a great woman and her lovely dog :D we enjoy it and we loved it. Beautiful beach close by :). Good breakfast Peace and quiet at night, comfortable beds, very nice room the service was super nice and helpful. Wifi was working good. Beach bars and restaurants close by :) I recommend it very much
