Food was delicious, but 3* overpriced But staff was friendly and tried to find alternative to baby crib , but it didn’t work

Not clean, a lot of dust everywhere. Bathroom smells and most of it needs renovation. We were next to the hall and it was loud + constant sound of moved chairs upstairs. Also no baby crib. That was very challenging. Quite overpriced.

The staff was amazing. Ahmed helped us by going out of his way. The location is right at the starting point of west bank sites so a bit far from bank but Ahmed helped us to get a cab, coordinated with him our pickup from the ferry point as well even late in night. Chef was also really good. The property has good view of the valley/hill. The property is beautiful. For us, the best thing about the property was the helpful Ahmed!

Das Essen ist überteuert - für ein Menu der gleichen Art bezahlt man in der Stadt 5 € . Genauso wie die Location an sich, wenn man die ferne Lage bedenkt. Die Fahrer finden die Location nur schlecht und reklamieren, weil die Strasse zu schlecht ist und verlangen Aufpreise. Nachts würde ich hier nicht alleine rausgehen. Ich habe im Zimmer viele Haare von anderen Gästen gefunden, in der Dusche und beim Wohnzimmerteppich. Die Gastgeber bieten übterteuerte Trips an. Ihr bekommt dasselbe zum halben Preis, wenn ihr online bucht. Baulärm und nicht immer funktionierendes Wlan runden die Erfahrung ab.

The pictures, reviews and location had put our expectations for this hotel already very high, but nothing could prepare us for the amazing experience we have had staying at the Malkata House! First of all the location, directly on the border of the of the oasis looking over the desert and the Valley of the Queens, it is a very quite and safe environment. Early morning the balloons fly over, which makes it feel you wake up in a fairy tale. Second the accommodation and the room itself; the facility is new, very clean, well decorated and with amazing architecture. But third, the staff; words can not describe how great the team of owner Mohammed are! Ahmed, a host who has service in his blood, makes sure you get everything you need and more. Always available, quick in response and very helpful in planning anything you need. No request is to much for him. He will also serve you in the restaurant and does so with a lot of professionalism and eye for detail. Hassan, the man with me warmest smile in the entire world, will cook food like no one else. Every meal he served us, both breakfast and dinner, was fabulous. Fresh, tasty, creative. The only problem you will have with the food is that it’s hard to stop eating when your full. If you’re lucky enough to stay at this hotel, I highly recommend to have any meal possible at the place as I can not imagine any other chef in Luxor will beat his cooking skills. Also a shout out to the super friendly Mahmut, the security. Always friendly and warm in communication. I will definitely come back to Luxor just to stay at this place again, and highly recommended anyone else to do the same!

Das Personal ist extrem gastfreundlich, herzlich und zuvorkommend. Jeder Wunsch, jedes Anliegen wird direkt und einfach erfüllt. Hassan kocht vorzüglich und Ahmet und der Rest des Teams kümmern sich bestens um alles andere. Die Lage und die Dachterrasse mit Blick auf das Tal der Königinnen und die “Tote Stadt“ beim Sonnenuntergang, sowie die Ruhe am Wüstenrand sind wunderbar. Unsere gebuchten Ausflüge über Malkata House mit Saber als Guide und Mohammed, unserem Fahrer waren individuell und professionell !!!

Nothing, was literally perfect!

The location was perfect if you plan to visit the valley on the kings and queens, the temple of Hatshepsut. If it's not too hot, you can even walk to many places. It's peaceful and quiet, away from the hassle of Luxor. The staff is very helpful and super nice. Karnak and Luxor temples are a ferry away. The room are comfortable with everything you need. And the view from the terrasse so beautiful. Hassan is a great cook. Special thanks to Ahmed for his help and advise

The host, chefs, and staff were wonderful, welcoming, and super helpful. The food is amazing, it’s the best food we’ve had in Egypt. Hidden humble gem - a peaceful respite from the bustle of Cairo/Aswan/East Bank (for those doing the traditional tourist route). I wished we were staying here longer. It has that warm, home stay atmosphere. There’s a full kitchen with a fridge/freezer if that is helpful to note.

Malkata House is a gem, located just beyond the rugged hills and desert on the West Bank. The winds from the Nile still reach you on the terrace and the tiled apartments maintain a cool temperature even on a scorching day. Ahmed and (just) Hassan were so helpful whenever we needed something. And Mohamed, the owner, did a wonderful job organizing all our tours and was willing to work with our budget. Our tour guide, Hamdi was incredible...so well versed in the history of ancient Egypt (he reads hieroglyphics!) He was able to make connections to the lives of everyday Egyptians today. Truly a memorable guide. None of these even measure up to the Chef. Chef Hassan, an incredible and imaginative cook, always welcomed us with his inviting arms and warm smile. We ate things we'd never touch anywhere else simply because they sang under Chef Hassan's ministration. An incredible stay all around. Leave the East Bank for touring, stay at Malkata House to restore body and soul.

Some staff member walked into the flat without knocking on the door, then tried to enter my room by moving the door handle up and down for several tiems, which luckily was locked. It is very inappropriate and unprofessional behaviour, when I addressed this they just told me they wanted to turn the light off. which is nonsense because I was in the room, reading and it wasn't that late. Also the waiter ignored me a couple of times.

The apartment is spacious and very comfortable. Kitchen and bath well equipped. Ahmed is very hospitable and helpful.

Expect a bumpy approach by car, only Arabic TV programs

Very recommendable in every way. Awesome food, great location and lovely staff. Also the owner organises everything you wish regarding trips, transports etc. for a very reasonable price.

Nice place, awesome views from the rooftop terrace. Hassan is very friendly and an amazing cook, we really recommend trying his dinner! Also, Ahmed took very good care of us. Definitely coming back. Remember bringing something against mosquitos ;)

The rooftop view was beautiful. The room was nice,clean and spacious. The host was very nice.

The location is very remote. Far from the city, eating and drinking options. There is no sign on the building, it was hard to find. There were a lot of mosquitoes in the room. The breakfast and the room are really overpriced for what you get. The bathroom is so tiny.

Chef Hassan and Ahmed were most welcoming and attentive to our every need . They both did everything to make us feel at home and comfortable. Together with the ownerMr. Mohamed they arranged for our airport pickup and all transport needs. The traditional breakfast was excellent & good cooking smells around meal times were very enticing. We left happy 😃 thanks to their cordiality & generous hospitality

The ground apt we had was comfortable and functional though not sunny. Good light towards afternoon but recommend u try getting first floor. The roof and dinning aerea were drenched in sunlight , simply pleasant decorations and comfortable

This is very new, fresh, super clean, spacious house on the left bank of Nile. we rented an apartment and it looked as if we were one of the first customers. Hosts were super helpful, hospitable, they organized transfers for us as well as a very good whole day guided tour with Saber. it was super professional, very interesting and informative. Breakfast was abundant and delicious. so was a lunch served at a rooftop with amazingly beautiful view of the desert and the mountains where archeological sites nearby are located. overall this was the best stay we had on our trip to Egypt.

it is not a negative comment but one should realize that the house is located a bit far from Luxor, in a village Kurna. this has some advantages (proximity of the archeological sites on the left bank, nice and interesting landscapes of the village as well as a desert) but if you want to be in a city, it might not be your first choice. Hosts however may arrange transfers on boat and on a car perfectly.

Assan et Ahmed were so nice and friendly. Always helpful and smiling. Assan cooked such a good meal, it was wonderful. The view is so great et so close to the kings valley and other temples and sanctuaries. The rooms are so well decorated. Everything was perfect. Thanks Ahmed, thanks Assan . Peggy & her family

Incredible stay, the place and views are beautiful and clear, Mohamed was so helpful with everything that we needed and organised all the tours that we wanted and helped with drivers when needed, all the staff were so lovely and courteous; the highlight of the place has to be Chef Hassan who catered for all our meals with so much amazing food for every meal that we were spoilt for choice, and he paid close attention to allergies for one of the travellers. Would love to stay again!
