Beautiful views from the restaurant, nice and fresh breakfast. Very close to the train station.
The common bathroom could have some shampoo and some floor towels.
Room from the road side and parking was a bit noisy.

Das beste vorweg: die Aussicht von der grossen Restaurant-Terrasse auf den Walensee ist grandios. Unser Frühstück dort bei traumhaftem April-Wetter (eher Sommer), die Stille und der sorgfältige Service waren top. Wenn sich herumspricht, dass das Restaurant nun wieder offen ist, dürfte bei schönem Wetter hier einige los sein. Übrigens, Hotel und Restaurant gehören nun zusammen, wie uns die neue und super-erfahrene Gastgeberin Frau Egli wissen liess. Überlesen Sie die alten Bewertungen, die haben bei den neuen Besitzern keine Gültigkeit mehr. Wir wünschen Frau Egli und ihrem Team viel Erfolg bei diesen Neuanfang.
Der digitale Self-Check-In ist Geschmackssache, vereinfacht aber heutzutage beim bestehenden Personalmangel einiges. Wer das Hotel von der Strasse aus sieht, wird ihm wohl eher weniger Beachtung schenken. Dort könnte mann/frau alles etwas attraktiver machen.

La proximité de la gare facilite l'accès, et l'utilisation du code à la place d'une réception ce qui est pratique et rapide. L'emplacement offre la possibilité de profiter du lac à proximité et de faire des randonnées, c'est très agréable. Quant à la chambre, elle est petite mais confortable, avec une touche accueillante comme le petit biscuit posé sur la table :)
Nous avions été informés que la salle de bain était partagée, mais nous aurions préféré avoir un petit évier dans la chambre. Pour une nuit, la taille, l'espace et l'agencement des meubles étaient adéquats, mais pour une semaine, nous ne pensons pas que cela aurait été adapté.

Hervorragender Standort um den See und die Umgebung zu Fuß oder mit dem Schiff zu erkunden. Man hat sich in der Unterkunft sofort wohlgefühlt. Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Geschäftsführerin. Schöne große moderne Zimmer. Vom Bahn-/ Straßenverkehr bekommt man im Zimmer sehr wenig mit. Schöner Osterbrunch mit Ausblick.
Es waren Gläser im Zimmer vorhanden, jedoch keine Getränke.
Verbesserungsvorschlag: Gerade über Feiertage in einer Ortschaft mit wenig Einkaufsmöglichkeiten wären Getränke im Zimmer pro Tag hilfreich.

Missing vending machine, in room water boiler for tea or coffee machine (how about a nespresso?), need brighter entrance or more responsive sensor... it's quite urgent for late or night check in (someone with no experience with SMART hotel might feel confused)

Murg is a small town and not a major tourist area that I can see, except for a campsite. Which is good if you want a peaceful stay. The cons are that opportunities to eat are limited and the hotel did not have a functioning restaurant when we went. We knew all this, so as long as you have the correct expectation, it is fine.
There is a SPAR a few minutes walk away which is run by a very friendly gentleman and has a good selection of basics and fresh food with excellent quality.
Murg has an hourly train service in each direction so getting places is fine if you are careful to plan times. Check SBB's website for exact information.
Walensee is a beautiful and clear lake and there is a nice small beach area which is free to access for swimming, near to the camp site. Road access looked good if driving.
We booked 2 apartments, one above the other. The upper one had excellent lake views. The lower one had pleasant views of the mountains. The apartments were spacious, great bathroom, nice beds, and a mini kitchen area with a fridge - but no cooking facilities. There were a small selection of plates, cutlery and cups and glasses.
The fridge was very useful as we could buy salad items from the SPAR and make a nice buffet supper on the balcony which had a table and chairs and was fine for summer.
I would suggest perhaps a small microwave would be a great addition so guests could heat up canned items like soup, or make hot chocolate, especially for winter stays.
The cleanliness and decoration was immaculate - I could not find a single fault with the hotel room or its lobby area.
The only problem we had was the check in process. It needs improvement. I see some other reviews say similar. The hotel is very nice and in an excellent location, so I offer the following as constructive criticism, with best wishes to the owners:
1) We completed a check in form which was sent by SMS (and I missed that at first as it went to my wife's phone number). Sending all communications via booking.com messages might be easier.
2) We were aware that we needed to make payment before we arrived, in order to get the room access code. However, I was getting concerned that I had not seen a payment request link, even up to a few days before our check in date.
We were getting confusing messages via Booking.com (that I suspect were automated) about a Heidiland mandatory questionnaire, a week *after* we completed check in form. I think the check in form probably covered all this, so it was a bit confusing.
In the end, a couple of days before our check in date, we phoned the hosts. We spoke to a lady who, once we'd explained everything, fixed the problem immediately. We had a payment link within the hour, we paid, and we got the room codes very shortly after. So all was assured and correct for when we arrived.

3) My recommendation to the hosts: Either the check in computer systems need to be improved - perhaps a self contained website that the guests can see the status of the booking, update mandatory tourist registration data easily, and make payment.
4) Or issue a dedicated email address that is monitored as a priority: this would be easier for foreign guests to use (and easier for the hosts) as we can all make use of Google Translate for easier communications.
Once we had the room code, all was perfect. But it would have been nice to be able to get this all sorted before we left England.

Room was clean and spacious
We were travelling with a 6 month old infant. Our room had no kettle to boil water. So we asked a member of staff for hot water from a kitchen to put in a flask to feed our baby. We were told that is not possible, yet other rooms had kettles. This is very disappointing and for a family ran hotel that the needs of our child were not met and is frankly unacceptable. We're a well travelled couple and have never experienced such a low level of hospitality.

The rooms were clean and has big LCD’s, beds are comfortable. Close to the lake or good situated to do trips.
There is no reception. You reveive doorcodes what can be very frustrating sometimes when somehow it don’t respond. At the time we were there the restaurant was closed. The facilities were very limited. No automat for a snack or drink/ minibar. At times the shared bathroom can be very noisy especially for the connected rooms. Can be also occupied at unusual times. Not somthing I would like to experience again.

Looked clean. The heating was working. The Tv was big and had netflix. The beds exceptional.
No minibar/ frige
No shampoo/ douch get in the shower. The containerwas there but empty.
Didn't feel safe because in the room there was no smoke detector and no fire-sprincles and no fire safety instructions (exit, secondary exit, fire hidrants)
No staff around. If you need something you need to call and sometimes the person answering acts like you are disturbing... So no friendluness and poor customer service.

It was a large room and was very clean.
The check in and front door was confusing. They also lost my payment receipt, so we had a difficult time getting access to the building.

Unsatisfactory soundproofing, the received information sent out only in german language and it is immeasurably long so finally I missed the most important things which lead to inconvieniances. The design inside is a bit too much, but it's a matter of taste.

The tv was nice and the beds were comfy
The restaurant was closed, there were also no restaurants nearby so we had to buy something from the supermarket. Also no water kettle or other facilities.

Spacious modern room. Comfy bed with electric positioning system. Big screen TV. Perfectly located nearby the beautiful lake. Big spacy free parking.
Terrasse is not accessible as the restaurant is closed. Shared bathroom is the one for the whole floor which is not enough for around 10 rooms. Most of the rooms have a view to roads - noisy and you can't sleep with your windows opened and AC is not available. Room code is to be entered for each entry into the room.
