We love the view. We love the food. We love the plants and garden all around the grounds. The staff was very nice. The food was really good. I would definitely stay again.

A Very nice property & a wonderful staff. The service and food was top notch, very fresh out of their garden and locally grown. A Very Good Chef and a great view of the beach and ocean which you have access to when staying there..

The place was wonderful. The food delicious. However I brought a plastic safe box that was broken into when we were not in the room. Thankfully the one think I had left in it was still there. I was honestly shocked because the staff I met were wonderful and the property was the best I have stayed in in Mendicino.

The advertisements were true, but it was way better than I expected. Our room was so perfect! This is a quirky beachy cove! Perfect for a quiet getaway! There’s nothing much but a couple stores in the village which was just fine. We had diner at sunset outside on the patio - with my dog present - watching the most incredible sunset with absolutely perfect food! I didn’t close the blinds in the room since no one can see in and enjoyed the view. The room is rustic and quaint with just the right comfort. The sheets were perfectly soft and the blankets the perfect warm!
I simply can’t wait to go back.

Spur of the moment getaway
It was our anniversary and I wanted to take my wife to the Mendocino area since we hadn’t gone there in years. It was last minute but they had a beautiful room overlooking the ocean that was available for one night. The in room breakfast and dinner was excellent and service was great. We went for a walk on the beach down a winding trail right below our cabin.
They helped us find another room for our second night by calling around to other places for us.
All in all it was a wonderful weekend. I would stay there again!

Beautiful, tranquil and relaxing

My wife and I stole away for the weekend with our two dogs and we could not have picked a more relaxing and beautiful place than the Elk Cove Inn. Our room was so cozy, the views of Elk Cove were spectacular, the access to the beach easy and convenient, the included breakfast delivered to your room or served on their deck, and their welcoming of our dogs - all made for just the type of weekend we were in need of. Due to Covid, finding places to eat dinner was a little challenging without driving quite a ways - but the room had a microwave and refrigerator so we ate in both nights and it was very enjoyable. Highly recommend the Inn to restore the soul.

Friendly, responsive staff but property needs lots of work and pictures make it look much classier than it is. Our room was tight and furniture was worn out. The chef was really nice but food was lousy, skimpy and overpriced.

Fantastic getaway!
If you’re looking for a quiet and comfortable getaway, look no further than this gem! We had the most wonderful and relaxing stay! Our cottage was comfortable and clean, and we spent hours in those big chairs staring out the window at the ocean. The food was awesome, both The daily breakfast and the dinner we added on. We had absolutely no complaints and look forward to our next visit!

Exceptional
The Elk Cove Inn staff could not have been a more welcoming and friendly. They easily accommodated our request for vegan food (best to request in advance) and provided superb and gourmet meals which we enjoyed on the patio overlooking the ocean. Really quite exceptional. The views from our room were unparalleled. It was an extraordinarily relaxing stay filled with long walks on the nearby beach. They were also very welcoming to our dogs who had a great time romping on the beach. Highly recommend. I will definitely be going back.

Beautiful get away
We stayed at elk cove inn and spa for three nights. The listing is a bit confusing I thought it was more of a stand alone cottage, but it’s a room. The view is gorgeous, the food is amazing, and all the staff are lovely and very kind. It’s right on the beach and we loved taking the dogs there for sunrise/sunset walks. Close to Anderson valley for great wine tasting, hiking, kayaking.
I’m definitely bookmarking this. Would love to come back. Just keep in mind that it is more of an inn set up, so limited privacy sound wise. It’s very dog friendly, towels and bowls provided and there is a small fridge to store your food/etc. There are 2 local doggies as well that walk around.
Did I say that the food was delicious? And there are mimosas for breakfast:)

Elk Cove Inn & Spa is a wonderful place to get away from it all! The owner, manager, and chef are extraordinary and make your stay extra special. Despite the challenges of the COVID restrictions, they excelled!! The location can't be beat, with a secluded cove/beach expanding before you and within a half hour from Mendocino, wineries, redwoods, state parks, and various hiking trails. I stayed in the Greenwood cottage and my friend stayed in Surfsong - both different in decor but both wonderful with incredible views of the cove and ocean!! Highly recommend either one. The best part for us is that the Inn is super dog-friendly!! I am already planning to go back!

Being taken care of
During this very stressful time we were in need of getting away and being taken care of. The Elk Cove Inn did just that. The day we arrived the governor of California had shut down in door dining. I was amazed at the staff and the chef on how quickly and well they executed out door dining. The food was absolutely delicious, fantastic wine, wonderful staff and a chef who came out to chat. It was the perfect experience in an absolutely beautiful setting. I was thankful that we spent our time getting away at this beautiful in. Upon our arrival we were greeted with a dog welcome basket for our a golden retriever, the room was beautiful, very clean and had an amazing view. We will be back for sure! Thank you for taking such good care of us!

Great food and location but needs updaring
Rakesh and everyone helping to operate the inn were extremely helpful and gracious. I give them all five stars. The food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Five stars again. The fact that the inn accepts pets and has great access to the beach is also five stars. However, the rooms need updating and things need to be a bit more clean. There was hair in our ice bucket and the keurig machine needed de scaling and cleaning. The beds and bathrooms could use updated and nicer linens and towels. What I like is that they are trying to make it nicer and are so accommodating which is why we will go back. They assured me that when I come back things will be improved.

Beautiful oceanfront property!
We were so happy we found this beautiful place. Our room was cozy and well appointed and the service was great. There really was no reason to leave because the food was five star as well!! The chef sources local foods and each breakfast and dinner served was an excellent experience. Will definitely return!

Amazing Location, Inn and Staff
Stumbled upon this place on accident and so very glad we did. What an amazing location. The listing doesn’t do it justice of how great the views are from everywhere on the property. Trails leading to the beach. Staff is wonderful and attentive. We will be back without a doubt and can’t wait.

great relaxing getaway! Customer service was great! Views were awesome. The owner was very nice. Breakfast was really good,and the best part was no cell service so you don't have any choice but relax!!
