My Cosy At the Ocean Good: Very large apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms (one shower over bath and the bath is very high, so a bit difficult to get in and out for older people). Lifts to the fourth floor, lots of security codes to get in the unit complex, unit and rubbish storage area.   Washing machine/dryer combination. Large clothes drying rack.  

Bad: When we were looking at the property we didn’t realize that it was so far out from the main shopping hub near Castlegate . It was a 27 minute walk to Union Square Shopping Centre and the Aberdeen Train and Bus Station. We were looking for an apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms as we are sisters and wanted our own room.  We received an email stating that the common areas in the apartment block are equipped with security cameras and the owners are notified if there is any activity that would indicate that house rules (regarding the number of guests) are being broken.  This did not concern us though as there were only the two of us. On our taxi ride from the railway station to the apartment, we realized just how far out from the shops and restaurants the apartment was.  We did however find a lot of supermarkets and some basic shops about 20 minutes walk away from the apartment. We were staying for six nights and our ‘welcome’ package (photo attached to this review) was very limited with teabags, coffee sachets, some sugar packets, some small milk tubs and two packets with two biscuits in each. There was also one dishwashing tablet and a (we call it rinse aid tablet in Australia) tablet provided - a six night stay with one dishwashing tablet…….well we were not going to go out and buy a packet of dishwashing tablets so we hand washed the dishes and didn’t bother with the dishwasher. Suggestions: There are two large windows in the family room and one of the windows has no window coverings at all and the other has a blind that, unfortunately, when wound down does not go back up again as the chain was off the roller, so we hand rolled the blind up and kept it up for the six nights we were there.  A large window with no blind makes the room open so that anyone in other apartments can see in so it would be handy if the owners could install a blind or curtains and fix the blind that is faulty.

A very light, roomy apartment. Beds were very comfortable, lounge is spacious. We had everything we needed in the kitchen area, with tea, coffee, sugar and little milk pods provided which was nice, as well as liquid soap dispensers in the bathrooms. Plenty of cutlery and china if you need it. There are great views. Easy walks to the beach and into town both of which take about 20-25 mins. Wi-fi was good. Hosts were helpful and check-in/out instructions were clear and accurate.

It would have been nice to have just a bit more visitor info such as simple instructions on heating temp/timing, and maybe some minimal information about what is nearby with recommended places to go to visit or restaurants. The hosts were responsive when I needed help.

Very convenient location.

It would be more comfy is the beds can be slightly bigger. The standard double is a bit small for two adults.

Beware of the cleaning deposit! Hosts do not answer, when you object to paying deposit. While already receiving payment for the room. Hair in the freezer and also in the refrigerator. Door of the dishwasher can not open without damaging the cupboard or floor. Tub needs cleaning! You can not repair your TV furniture with adhesive plasters! And expect a deposit from your customers anyway. More pictures available if needed. Far away, walking trough a poor neigboorhood before reaching appartment.

Very convenient for buses into town only minutes away from beach and seafront and retail park .A proper kitchen and loads of room and the two bathrooms ideal .

Door lock very stiff to operate, no blind at one of the windows and blind in bedroom lets in a lot of light .Could have been more info on tourist attractions and restaurants .

Dzīvokļa interjers bija pārdomāts, iekšējo durvju kvalitāte bija pietiekama, logu atvēršana un iespēja vēdināt labi. Lieliski bija iespēja skatīties televizoru, daudz dažādas programmas. Ļoti patīkamu pārsteigumu sagādāja skats pa logu uz pilsētu, un tas neietvēra blakus esošos britu kapus. Dzīvoklis labi tur iekšējo temperatūru, apmierina arī pieejamās saules gaismas daudzums. Mums patika mājokļa tuvums golfa laukumam un piekrastei, patiesās britu dzīves simboliem. Bezvadu tīkla savienojums (Wi-Fi) arī nepievīla un virtuves plīts sakarīgi tika galā arī ar lielu ēdiena daudzumu gatavošanu. Augstu cieņu saimniekiem par godīgumu paklāju tīrības sakarā. Par patīkamu papildinājumu kalpo vannasistbu nosūcēju slēdžu esamība, kas ļauj to darbību pieprasīt atbilstoši nepieciešamībai. Numuram piederošā autostāvvieta ir ērta savā novietojumā, tajā ir viegli nolikt auto. Blakus apartamentiem ir autobusa pietura. Īpaši paldies par informatīvo grāmatu ar instrukcijām un ieteikumiem.

Ārdurvju mehānisms ir labs, tikai papildu neskaidrots, tā lietojums var likties sarežģīts. Viesistabā esošās stāvlampas radītu patīkamu atmosfēru, ja to spuldzes būtu vienādā krāsu temperatūrā. Jau tā kvalitatīvās gāzes plīts darbu atvieglotu dažādu izmēru pannu esamība, jo vienīgā pieejamā ir paredzēta lieliem ēdiena daudzumiem. Skumji bija vannasistabā neatrast britiem raksturīgo GFCI (zemējuma kļūmes uztveres savienojuma) kontaktligzdu, jo tās esamība būtu pieredzi padarījusi autentiskāku.

A bit of noise from the seagulls

Lovely apartment, accessed by a lift, so ideal for luggage. It had most of what we needed. Spacious living room and an important reason for choosing it was the two bathrooms. Having its own marked parking space was ideal. We would recommend.

We would have liked all the doors to close properly. A rack or heat resistant mat to put hot serving dishes on the glass dining table would have been very useful. We didn't want to risk damaging it, so had to improvise with coasters etc.
