This was a great house for my family’s little getaway! Great location, in a quiet neighborhood, and just a short walk to downtown Saugatuck! The house was clean, nicely decorated and well-appointed with amenities. The three season porch is what really makes it though… bright and beautiful during the day, with great views for all the deer! In the evening we were able to open the windows and really enjoy the cool breeze and summer sounds and smells! Will definitely look to stay here again on future trips to Saugatuck!

The rental was a great space for my parents, dog and I. We would wake and walk into town for our morning exercise, watch movies in the evening on the porch and rock on the front porch after spending the day out in town or checking out new spots. My mom couldn’t do the walk to town and walk downtown - so we still needed to park downtown for her. Luckily it was an ‘off’ season so we did t have to worry about parking! Lovely home!

Very cute home but the entryway from the sunroom to enter the house there is a high step over which I did not see because I was carrying things into the house and tripped and fell. This should be marked at eye level. I am ok but landed on a knee that I am having replaced next week. Pretty painful.
Great place but please mark this hazard.

Overall, we had a good stay! The property is cute and in a convenient location. Updated kitchen and all the essentials you will need. Close enough for a longer walk to Butler Street - the listing quotes 13 minutes. That is not accurate...it is more like 20-25 minutes. Not horrible but it helps to know the real distance to plan accordingly. The home was clean but definitely not worthy of five stars. Dead bugs behind bathroom doors, cobwebs in the three season porch space, kitchen sink not wiped out and it had just been cleaned before our arrival (based on their real-time calendar it was booked for several weeks straight before our arrival). One concern is that the pictures certainly do not reflect the current state of the home. It is in need of some TLC - deck has paint peeling and chipping everywhere, weeds throughout stone walk up, overgrown shrubbery/flowers around deck and entrance to the backyard, scuffs on almost every wall from renters and their luggage, and mattresses both had multiple urine stains on them as did two of the eight pillows. It looked like it has really been "lived" in without much attention in many years. The biggest concern was that two doors did not lock. The door from the home to the three season porch did not lock nor did the door from the home to the backyard. This to me is unacceptable even in a very safe town like Saugatuck. Overall, it was a good rental.

We have been coming to this house for 3 years and love this home. Great for our dog to romp in the backyard. ( Needs a new dog waste container )😉
Love the updates outside and on front porch making it an all season room.
This house is a short walk to town which is what we did on a daily basis. Great restaurants, most are dog friendly outside along with many of the shops
Lady Bird is a great new upscale restaurant, along with Chop house
We will be back next year !

We’ve stayed in this home several times now and really enjoy it. The home is clean and comfortable and everything we’ve needed is provided. We will happily continue to stay here when we come to Saugatuck.

We love the location of the house, easy walk into town. The porch was definitely our favorite place to hang out and our pups loved the enclosed yard. Not our first time staying here and definitely will not be our last. Cheers!

Overall experience was horrible all due to the property company VACASA. TOO many things to mention. But overal they treat their customers like a number and look to make MONEY FROM YOU ONLY!!!
YOU ARE NOT A PERSON TO THEM WITH the importance of making your stay a comfortable one...VERBO needs to get rid of VACASA ASAP!! Go back to what works...CARING ABOUT THE CUSTOMER!!

We have been coming to Saugatuck for 10 years and found a couple homes we love to make ours for the week. This was our first time staying here and loved it. Location is on outskirts of town so felt secluded, but could easily walk to downtown for food, drinks and shopping. This house has a fenced in yard which was perfect for our doggy. House was super clean, plenty of space for a family of four. We loved the screened in patio and spent a lot of time out there relaxing!

This was a cute, comfortable cottage with a wonderful screened in porch. Street was quiet and not too far of a walk to town. My only complaint is that the bedrooms undoubtedly smelled like dog urine. I understand it’s a pet friendly home, but rugs/bed shirts might be a bad idea for furry friends marking their territory.

We loved our time at Rise N Shine with our 1.5 year old toddler & 10 year old dog. The house is very well stocked and was incredibly clean. We were pleased with the ceiling fans in both bedrooms & the large tub in one of the bathrooms. The landscaping & fenced backyard are beautiful, such an added bonus for us! We easily walked downtown each day and wandered the quiet surrounding streets for a family walk each evening before bedtime. My husband and I enjoyed the screened in front porch during nap time! We’re already looking forward to another stay next year!

This was a perfect place for us to stay as I had to do a job in the area and my family wanted to join me. The house is great! The location was perfect and the fenced in yard was perfect for our dog. Walking distance to town, everything was great! The home was immaculate. They even had a toy and treat for our dog. There was a small issue with the lighting, but the hosts were completely responsive and willing to help everything got figured out with ease.

The house is beautiful and comfortable. Close to downtown Saugatuck. Beautiful and quiet neighborhood. Comfortable beds and well appointed amenities. Close to driving to Lake Michigan beaches. We came for the Holland tulip festival. Which was beautiful.

We loved our stay at Rise N Shine! The cottage was very cute and comfortable, with extra perks of a fenced yard and lovely sun porch. It was conveniently located, clean and had all the amenities we needed. Can't wait to go back!

Be aware:
All doors lock by lifting handle, then turning deadbolt. It’s a two hand job to lock the doors. Not bad, just be aware if you’re carrying things.
The washing machine is ooc, and has been for some time. A little heads up beforehand would have helped us pack for the duration. We pack expecting to do laundry mid-week, so we had to adjust.
The yard is fenced, no holes for your furry escape artist to find. Please clean up afterwards.
Loved the appliances. Nice toaster, microwave, oven, fridge & dishwasher.
Plus: Very nice shower, slate with two shower heads, one hand held. Very hot water eventually. Super comfortable King size bed. Leather couch. Sonos tv speaker.
Plus Plus: Nice heated towel rack and vaulted ceilings.
Lost a star for knowing the washer wouldn’t be operational and not telling us. They comped us $X/day but I would much rather have been warned so we could pack accordingly.
All in all, nice 2 bed 2 bath with fenced yard. Walk to downtown in 15 minutes. The closer you get, the more it costs; so we were happy to walk the extra blocks.
Easy 4.5 stars.

Overall, the home was lovely. Well decorated. It looked loved. It is small, but super cozy. There were 2 of us (mom and son) and any more would have felt crowded. There were some issues with hot water and the stove, but we managed. Backyard was perfect for our 5 month old puppy - safe and secure. The neighborhood is very nice and walked to the town of Saugatuck and found other nice paths. We would return.

When I arrived I found the cleaning person still there even though it was after check in. I'm not sure what she was cleaning as after she left (20 minutes later) I found dog poop IN the home. I then found at least 7 piles of dog poo in the backyard (I stopped counting). I was also sliding all over the walk way trying to get our things into the home as it was iced over and there was no salt or anything to help the ice rink it became. Then I found the back door DID NOT LOCK. It was fully broken. Not the door to the house...the door to the backyard. I contacted them and they did nothing. I left and drove 3 hours home because I wasn't going to stay in a house that is dirty and I had no idea if it was safe with a broken door. I asked for a refund and they are refusing. They have refused multiple times. So I have disputed the charge and I'm talking to my lawyer. It's ridiculous. I was there a total of 2 hours and disgusted. DO NOT BOOK THIS!

Well done rehab on this relatively small house. Excellent use of space. The bedrooms are small, but more importantly are furnished with comfortable beds. The kitchen and living room are open and a good size, with comfy seating. The best part though is the superb screen porch which runs along the whole front of the house, and is furnished with comfy seating and a dining table that seats 6. The only negatives I had, and why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars, were the horrendous intense chemical cleaning smell when you first enter the house. We left the doors and windows open during our stay, so it did dissipate somewhat. Also, although we loved that all the light switches had dimmers, the dimmers were a bit complicated, and none of us mastered them by the end of our 3-night stay.

Perfectly cleaned when we checked into this property at which we have stayed many times including when it was locally managed by Lakeshore Lodging not national Vacasa corporation. With snow over several days we were unhappy to discover that the property management did not include snow shoveling— porch and stairs leading then to the walkway to car ( no garage). We shoveled this 5 times ourselves ( with a bad back not my idea of a vacation.). The mgt said they provide plowing of driveway, and since the car was in the short driveway they did clear the space behind our parked car. However, I will not stay here again in winter with the need to shovel over multiple days with no help and to carry suitcases down slippery porch stairs to depart. Mgt should at least provide shoveling and I believe this was done during previous stays under earlier local mgt. Vacasa does shovel snow before guests arrive they say, but not while they are there. Knowing this in advance would have influenced our decision and stay in December.

This home was a perfect fit for our needs. The location, setting, layout, decor and pet-friendly made it an amazing choice! We will definitely return….hopefully in warmer weather to utilize the great screened in porch!

This property was ok but definitely could use a lift. Almost none of the doors will shut, inside and outside doors. Drapes are leaves much to be desired, very dreary and do not hang right. The blinds weee broken did not drop down so being a house in a residential area we would have liked more privacy at night. Weather did not allow us to use the front porch and w/o that there is no ding table to eat bkft at. Kitchen was well equipped and bathrooms were nice. Some furniture needed refinishing was a bit depressing to look at.

This home is very welcoming and has all you need. The kitchen was one of the best stocked we have ever seen. Very nice appliances and great bathrooms. We stayed very nice and warm even though it was cold. It is very convenient to the town area of Saugatuck. Front porch is big (was too cold for us to use). It had a nice yard for our dogs. We enjoyed our stay.

This lovely place has everything you need for your stay. Tastefully finished with room to spare. Short walk to downtown Saugatuck, restaurants, and walking path along Blue Star highway. This was our second stay and we would definitely stay again.

This home was perfect for my husband and our 2 dogs when we visited Saugatuk for a Fall get-away! The fenced in back yard was great, giving our dogs protection and a little free run space! The neighborhood was quite, safe, and very close to downtown Saugatuk.
The home was very clean with a well appointed kitchen. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends!
