Also die Lage direkt am Strand ist wirklich toll. Es ist ruhig und man kann einen tollen Sonnenaufgang genießen. Keine Party/Musiklärm. Man hört die ganze Zeit das Wellenrauschen. In ca 10 min zu Fuß ist man in der Straße wo die ganzen Bars & Restaurants anfangen. Es gibt einen Pool der auch alle 2 Tage gereinigt wurde. Als Abschiedsgeschenk gab es ein Bild von einer Göttin. Das fand ich sehr nett und hab überhaupt nicht spwas gerechnet.

Das war die Unterkunft wo ich mich am meisten darauf gefreut habe weil sie direkt am Strand/Meer liegt und ich hier meine längste Zeit verbringen wollte zum Baden und nicht die ganze extra laufen/tuk tuk nehmen muss. Leider kann man direkt vor dem Hotel nicht wirklich ins Wasser, da dort große Steine sind. Es gibt zwar am Strand entlang ein paar Stellen wo man rein kann, wenn man sie kennt. Ihr hab sie mir am Strand erfragt, aber da hier sehr extremer Wellengang herrscht, war es auch hier schwierig reinzugehen. Oder mit extremer Vorsicht, da es einen hier ziemlich schnell ins Meer zieht. Ich finde nur etwas für richtig gute Schwimmer und keine Kinder! Ca 15-20min zu Fuß davon kommen Brandungen, welche die Wellen etwas abhalten und hier ist es besser zu Baden oder man fährt an den Silent Beach/Dickwalla Beach ca 15-20min mit tuktuk oder Roller mieten. Zur Hütte: Es ist alles offen und ja es können dadurch auch Tiere kommen und mal wo Spinnweben sein, aber bevor jemand neu einzieht finde ich sollten alle mal weggemacht werden und einem nicht ins Gesicht hängen. Auf Nachfrage kam zwar jemand und hat schnell ein paar weggemacht, aber mir war es im großen und ganzen zu schmuddelig und konnte mich nicht so richtig wohlfühlen. Ich war 4 Nächte und bei einer Unterkunft am Strand sollte entweder ein Besen zur Verfügung stehen oder mal nach 2 Tagen nachgefragt werden ob rausgekehrt werden muss...

Eine der schönsten Unterkünfte die wir in Sri lanka hatten. Das Bungalow ist direkt am Strand. Es ist zwar sehr einfach eingerichtet aber uns hat es sehr gefallen. Man schläft im oberen Stock und es ist offen also hört man das Meerrauschen stark aber das hat uns nicht gestört im gegenteil es war sehr entspannt. Die Gastgeber waren wundervoll wir bekamen sogar ein Abschiedsgeschenk. Auch das Abendessen war sehr lecker. Wer ein nicht so Touristen Ort sucht und einfach nur die Seele baumeln lassen will ist dort genau richtig. Danke für die schöne und leider kurze Zeit dort!

Absolut herzliche Gastgeber! Wir haben auf unseren Reisen noch nie so nah am Strand übernachtet - und dann für den Preis! Wirklich absolut traumhaft. Wir waren mit unserem fast 2jährigen Sohn hier und konnten morgens um 6 Uhr direkt am Wasser spielen :)

Amazing location for everyone who wants to stay affordably right on the beach and away from the crowd. The cabanas are super basic but very nice. I loved my little balcony. Jaminda and his wife are super kind. They just bought the place before Covid hit and are slowly slowly turning it into a dream place. Definitely something worth supporting.

Small little improvements could already make a huge difference: The atmosphere in the restaurant is not very cozy yet. More lights and some plants would improve that a lot. My cabana didn't have a mirror in the bathroom and there was nothing where I could hang up my clothes. All little things so still a 100% recommendation to stay here if you don't need luxury.

Great access to the beach and the restaurant is fantastic! Staff are super accomodating and even gave me a thank you gift when I checked out!

Overall, enjoyed the stay, but there is a lot of work to be done. Speaking with the owner, he indicated that they want to really fix up the place (place is still a mess after some recent storms) that will take a bit of time to get done. For example, the pool is completely empty of water and full of branches and debris. The rooms also need some improvements, these are coming and very much in the works. There's nothing glaringly bad about the place, just needs a bit of TLC.

Right one the beach, the tree house was tucked in the corner, and so private. It was great and a fun experience for a night. they also had an amazing breakfast at a fair price (unlike the place next door)

I dont believe the sheets were cleaned at all. It had body hairs on it and also being so close to the sea, everything was damp a moldy. It was fine for one night, but this is definitely not a luxury on the beach. No wifi near the room - only in the eating area and it kept being turned off.

If waking up the sound of sea waves crashing against the shore is something you yearn for during a leisurely holiday, you are at the right place. The chalets are right on the beach with a stunning view of the Indian Ocean. The hammocks, a small watch tower where you can climb and read a book or simply chill added a positive vibe to our experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the vibe spectacular! We booked three separate chalets for our family vacation. The rustic look of the tree house added to the beach vibe. The property is managed by a very nice and welcoming family, and they have taken good care to turn the place into an eco-friendly, nature-supporting stay. We had breakfast at the property it was very filling and delicious. I will totally recommend this property for budget-friendly, nature-conscious travellers.

One of the three rooms that we booked had an open toilet and bathing area although inside the rooms. If you are a family or travelling with a group of friends and the idea of an open bathroom makes you uncomfortable in terms of privacy, make sure to consult the owner before booking. There are other chalets within the same property with standard attached bathroom-cum-toliets that you can opt for. The ceiling fan in one of the rooms was not working to our expectation, but it is a larger power capacity concern that the island nation is facing in general. Having said that, the breeze from the ocean, the ambience of the place and hospitality of the property owners made up for the very minor glitch.

Loved, loved, loved staying here! It felt wery wild and natural! The owner is very accomodating and his family is super friendly. We first got the house in the first row by the sea, but our daughter and i could not sleep because the waves were so loud. So, the owner swapped us to a quieter tree house at the back. Many thanks for everything again!

Very calm and directly at the beach. You are connected to nature and you can listen to the ocean while you sleep. People come here to meditate and find peace. Great staff and food and the best dogs.

incredible secluded location at one end of the beach, but easy walk into town along the seafront. Delicious food, some of the best we had in Sri Lanka all home cooked and served on the beachfront. beautiful raised huts with the sound of the sea, and all conveniences like plug sockets and comfortable bathroom. host is so friendly and helpful.

The owner and his family were very kind. The food is delicious and the location is amazing, you should be in for an adventure if you like it. The cabana is simple but the location makes up for everything, the place is owned by the family and they treated our very kind even decorated my room beautifully for my birthday. I would recommend this to any family, couple or solo backpackers that likes some adventures.

Most beautiful place we’ve ever stayed! Let yourself be amazed by the beauty of your own private beach. The accommodations are literally right on the beach and you’ll have an ocean view right from your balcony. It almost felt like a 5-star resort. The owners are also super kind, thoughtful and helpful. We did some breathing- and yoga exercises with the owner on the beach and the whole experience was very relaxing. There are some nice restaurants in the area as well, but you will probably not eat there because the food of the place itself really tasty and healthy.

We loved to stay at Alpha Monkey where you are right on the beach and have a lovely view of the ocean from the balcony. The owner and his family are really lovely and even gave our little son a lovely farewell present!

Some electrical bright light would be lovely at the beach tables where you can have dinner.

The Alpha Monkey had just reopened after two years of lockdown. Pool did not have water yet, still, Taminde and family were busy refurbishing the place and trying everything to make it an as nice as possible stay for us. The food was excellent, be it breakfast or dinner. We got a little beach fire at the end just for us and did a nice breathwork session with Taminde on the beach. We really enjoyed the basic style and open bungalow design and the tranquility. The piece of beach is very quiet as Alpha Monkey is located beyond the end of the main road where all the other places are. You can easily reach other places, too, by taking a short walk. Taminde and family care a lot for the nature around them and are overly helpful.

nothing we could mention here. Maybe it is a little dark when dining, very few lights, but that was not an important one for us.

Great hut directly at the beach, clean and beautifully furnished. The business is family run, the staff very supportive. We had excellent food for dinner. Very kids friendly!

It is sad that all tourism facilities in Sri Lanka had to struggle so much during covid. Due to lack of income, almost all lodges and hotels had to limit expenses for maintenance, so be kind to the owners, they are hard working to bring their business fully back! Nothing not to like here!

A cosy, easy going, chill out place - living in a basic beach cabana with private toilet and shower. Our kids loved the pool and making sand creations. Very sweet and helpful family.

One of the beds needs a new madras and the restaurant and food needed a little more effort for our taste. There are other possibilities near by to variate.
