Wifi did not work really The neighborhood is pretty sad looking , we arrived during the afternoon, it was so busy on a small street … we were kind of shocked to see the poor state the town was in

Close to the airport witihn 15 minutes walk, although access for pedestrians to the airport is poor, with a lack of segregation from cars in places. Clean and well equipped with a helpful host. In a small quiet (apart from aircraft noise) side street, but the area generally is quite busy and commercial. We were able to catch the regular bus from the Airport to Taormina and Central Catania. The Airport Station (20 minutes walk) also has some useful connections (such as Siracusa) but an infrequent service. We also walked to the local beach, which can be done in 15-20 minutes, but the route is tricky through an underused shopping mall car park and a poorly kept woodland park. We used one of the Lidos for 8 euros each which was fine, but this whole beach area south of Catania is rather scruffy and neglected. The local Deli was helpful and there is a good cafe, but there isn't a good general supermarket nearby.

The poor pedestrian access to the airport, the traffic was very heavy at certain times. The area around the airport generally is quite commercial/industrial. Intially in the car it was tricky to find, the small side street is about 200M north of what the Map seemed to suggest. It is behind the Deli Antica Salumeria Bucisca and its easier to see the "149" when heading south.

This was a perfect solution for an overnight stay for an early flight. The owner was very helpful and friendly, the house had everything needed for a comfortable stay.

The location is very close to the airport, a 10-15 minutes walk. There are a few small grocery stores nearby, also restaurants and a bar where you can get food also late at night. but really you should go to the bar at the roundabout for breakfast, you won't regret it. Bonus point was the Moka and coffee which was available in the kitchen.
