We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend in the cabin. We loved the peace and quiet of the location and enjoyed several bike rides on a nearby gravel trail and hikes on the Appalachian Trail and Crabtree Falls. It was the perfect escape for a great family weekend.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving break at the Waterfall Cabin. The house is clean and cozy, and the outside area with the path along the river is absolutely gorgeous. Perfect place to hang out and reconnect with the family.

Our stay at Elliott’s cabin was amazing. The property is beautiful and the house was even better than we imagined! We opted to have the pool heated and it was absolutely worth it. Elliott was a great host - very responsive and accommodating. I definitely recommend booking!!

What a beautiful property and home! There is so much to do and explore on the property we didn’t have a dull moment. Even with a rainy weekend, we enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub! A+ property!

Wonderful and peaceful! Was very worth it to heat the pool. Beds were comfy and entire cabin was clean. Close to hiking and the blue ridge parkway far from grocery stores and restaurants!

The home and property were so beautiful and peaceful. It was the most restorative vacation I've had in a long time. Our highlights were the salt water pool - we did pay to have it heated and it was the right choice - and all of the chairs near the river making it easy to sit in or near. For awareness, one of the bedrooms requires you to walk through it to get to another, and that walk through is required to get to the bathroom. It worked for us but might be awkward if you have 4 couples in the house. And for our older parents, it was a little tough that there were no handrails on the steps outside the house. I did love the whole experience and would stay again if I had the chance. It was a very special experience.

I was looking for a weekend getaway to unwind, unplug and rejuvenate. This cabin was simply awesome, serene, blissful and more! Will rent this cabin again for a longer stay. Also, the host was very kind, prompt, accommodating and provided clear instructions to access and use all amenities.

The cabin is beautiful and situated in a great location. The river, the hot tub and just being in the midst of nature, brings a lot of positive energy. The cabin has all the amenities one can think of. We had an AWESOME time. THANK YOU !!

Well we found the perfect place to get snowed in this week! Hit a couple days at Wintergreen and when the storm rolled in we just stayed out and enjoyed a great place to stay. The beds are all amazing for a great nights sleep. We hit the hot tub and loved it while it was snowing on us. Loved the sounds of the water when we stepped outside. All the amenities we needed and Elliot was great about talking through any concerns we might have had about the weather rolling in. The house has an automatic back up generator in case the power goes out. What’s not to like?!

The Crabtree Falls property was wonderful! What we all loved best about this property was the location right beside Crabtree Falls Creek. The cabin was completely insulated from the rest of the world. We loved hearing the creek running by with no other sounds of civilization. The hot tub was definitely a bonus! Although it was too cold for us to enjoy the pool, Our family talked about wanting to go back sometime during warmer weather when we could also enjoy the pool. The property owners were very easy to get in touch with, which really put us at ease. The one thing I would make sure people know, is if, you go during the winter months, be sure you have four-wheel-drive in case there is snow or ice on the driveway. The driveway is pretty steep and I can see how, if you are not prepared, you could have trouble. The only other thing that I would say could be improved upon, is to have specific places for people to put their clothing and belongings while they are staying at the cabin. Outside of that, it was truly fantastic!

The property is huge, private, and beautiful. The cabin is cozy and more spacious than it looks. Ample outdoor spaces for taking in the scenery. Good communication with host. It’s a great rental.

Beautiful property on the Tye River, the house had everything we needed, wifi worked well, beds were comfy, hot tub was great. You are a five minute drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway and 30 minutes from Shenandoah NP.

Wonderful spot to relax or day hike. Very clean, impossible stay to top. Extremely private.

We had a great stay. The cabin was well appointed. The amenities were terrific - river, pool, hot tub. If you’re looking for a nice weekend away from the hustle and bustle waterfall cabin is a perfect choice.

We had a fantastic family vacation right before our boys (7 and 9) returned to school. This house is in a beautiful location - the river flowing right by the house plus the heated pool and hot tub and lots of outdoor spaces made for so many great memories. We also had a great time exploring the area, there are tons of breweries/wineries/cider houses with outdoor dining plus so many hikes and nature to see. Elliott was great to work with and we highly recommend this house and location!

Clean, well maintained, and well stocked cabin in Shenandoah. Great layout with primary bedroom upstairs and multiple bedrooms on the main level. We got the pool heated (for a fee) which was a must. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked with staples, cookware, and other basic items. A short drive for hiking Crabtree Falls, but we spent most of our stay lounging at the pool and enjoying nature.

The property was amazing and the pictures don’t do it justice. The house was very comfortable for our family of 5 and everyone enjoyed their stay immensely. Between pool, hot tub, and river, lots to keep everyone busy. Plenty to do in the area, as well. Great place, we’ll be back!

This place has a contemporary cabin feel to it, with good space, accommodations and a great piece of land. The pool and jacuzzi were great and kept us on property more than expected. And listening to the stream was pure zen. Good for families or couples/friends getting away from it all.

Outstanding property in an idyllic setting. We loved going from the swimming hole in the river to the swimming pool—the heated pool option is worth it. House is well-appointed and easily accommodated our party of 8. Elliott was a great host, who promptly responded to all inquiries.

House is absolutely amazing!! Something for everyone!! The pool is fantastic (definitely recommend getting it warmed). The deep end allows for jumping in (seems about 8 ft). Jacuzzi is splendid, jets, waterfall system, and lighting adds great touch! The stream allows for a quick hike or rock skipping! Elliott had been fantastic! Easy to get in contact with, and gives great suggestions! Only thing worth noting, the road getting to the house is very curvy, about 20 minutes of curves, if you have motion sickness easy, I would recommend you take your medicine!! You don't want to miss out on this house!!! It's a dream!! Sleeping with the sound of the stream is so peaceful!!

This property was the perfect getaway for our family vacation. Elliott was a great host and was very responsive to any questions that we had. The inside of the house was exactly as pictured. We had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. The location and view cannot be beat! Everyday we spent time in the pool, walked by the river, and ate dinner on the deck. This property was just as advertised! It was very spacious and the scenery was incredible. The host was very responsive and sent tips and tricks in advance of our stay. We would definitely book again.

The property was everything it was advertised as - great condition, clean, and remote. Its 3 hours from Fairfax County, in the hills and remote, a great way to get off the grid but still have all the comforts. The river is awesome with great swimming holes...highly recommend a dip even Polar Bear style in the winter.

This is a beautiful house, with an amazing view. Everything was perfect as described and we had no surprises. The host, Elliott was always in contact to make sure were had everything we needed. Will definitely repeat coming here!

The cabin was exactly as described, perfect for a family getaway. The rushing river nearby added a great soundtrack for the entire weekend. The cabin was rustic but had just enough luxury to keep our whole family entertained, both with the hot tub and heated pool. It's closeness to Crabtree Falls also provided us a great activity for Saturday, the hike was just challenging enough for the middle schoolers to get a good workout. Definitely will recommend this cabin to friends and looking forward to our next stay!

This is a piece of heaven on earth. The waterfalls on the property were beautiful and the sound was so relaxing. The heated pool and hot tub on the property were amazing and so well maintained. The inside of the house was also immaculate and extremely cozy with all of the amenities you could want. Perfect for a family vacation of all ages. It was everything we could have expected and more. This hidden gem in the mountains has everything to offer from a couples getaway to a family retreat. Cozy, clean cabin with upgraded features and amenities abound. A nice quiet escape with plenty to do both on property (pool, hot tub, private access to Tye River) and within a short drive to other local attractions (Crabtree Falls hiking, general store, vineyards and breweries). The owner was exceptionally friendly and wonderful to work with in planning our weekend at the property and with communication during and after our stay. We definitely plan to return to this property again!

I highly recommend this mountain getaway. The sound of the creek in the back, balconies to enjoy your coffee while watching the hummingbirds or simply reading a book, a pool and hot tub to relax in after a nice hike up Crabtree Falls or Spy Rock, and a fire to keep you warm on a cool night/morning make this truly a great place to stay and escape the city. The property manager/owner was very responsive and helpful before and during our stay; he was very accommodating and his recommendations helped us to find some great views to take in and enjoy the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Just what we were looking for: a weekend getaway to a cabin with modern amenities but a rustic feel. The cabin is on acres of wooded landed with a stream, includes a pool that gets lots of sun, and a hot tub on the deck. Beds were extra comfortable. Lots of nice hikes, views, and wineries nearby (but not much else—the cabin is very remote in the national forest, just like we wanted). Owner was very friendly and helpful for making suggestions in the area. Highly recommended and would stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here after our micro-wedding, since we couldn't have a bigger honeymoon. The house was awesome, the heated pool was really nice, but really what we loved more than anything was just sitting outside listening to the stream. Our main complaint was just the lack of information once we got to the house. We've spent a fair amount of time in other VRBO or AirBnB houses over the years, so there are a few things we've come to expect. For example the check-in procedure wasn't provided until we asked for it, and info about check-out wasn't provided at all. We cleaned up as best we could, but have no idea what was actually expected of us. Also in other homes, the owner always provided some kind of welcome note and information on how things work. There was no note, or information. We figured most things out on our own, but it would have been nice to have some instruction on how to turn on the hot tub, or how to actually lock the doors (the door knobs are very strange). Both my husband and I had no phone signal, and the wifi was weak so communication with the owner would have been difficult, if not impossible. These little things weren't deal breakers, but it would have been helpful.

We looked everywhere from ME to SC before finally discovering this gem of a house just 3 hours away from us in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. We were two families - two couples, with 4 teens aged 14-17. The house is very much as pictured--beautiful log cabin, clean, unfussy modern furniture, and well-appointed kitchen. There are 4 bedrooms --one very large and glorious master upstairs with en suite bathroom and a beautiful large deck off it, and three bedrooms on main level with two additional full baths. You need to walk through one bedroom to get to the back bedroom (and full bath), but it's also accessible by going outside the house if someone is sleeping. The house was very clean, with nice bedding, new pillows, and decor in line with the surroundings. Off the other downstairs bedroom, there is another deck with a very clean and easy to use hot tub and a large outdoor table for eating. The kitchen is clean and open, with a nice fridge, and (yet another!) lovely deck off of it overlooking the river and pool. The Tye River is right in front of the house -- completely private riverfront, with lots of nooks and crannies (lounge chairs, bistro table, hammocks) to bring a book and read or relax with coffee. The sound of the river is soothing. The pool is lovely and clean, with modern furniture all around. There is a gazebo with some workout equipment, where we stored our bikes when it rained. The house had excellent pots and pans, good spice selection, lots of hand soap, and gas burners. Good coffee maker with nice touches like plenty of filters. The owner was very responsive and thoughtful, leaving us a beautiful bottle of wine on arrival. They are building a little deck by the river that looks like it will be lovely. Crab Tree Falls hike is 1.5 miles down the road. We did it once with the crowds, and once as we should have -- at 7am -- didn't see a soul! Lots of nearby incredible hikes -- Spy Rock, Humpback Mountain, the Priest, St. Mary's Wilderness, Wintergreen. We only made it to Bold Rock Cidery but there are tons of other wineries and breweries nearby. Montebello has a little general store just a couple miles up the road. The nights were nice and cool, and the days were perfect for hiking or swimming. Good AC, beautiful new windows with screens, and clean, fresh-tasting tap water. We feel lucky we found this gem!
