We came into town...parents, uncles and aunts to visit with my ill brother. The house was spacious with EVERYTHING that you need, the deck was amazing with a space for everyone, gas fire pit and rocking chairs were a hit! We were greeted by two deer in the front yard, then two more in the driveway when we came back from the grocery store. So amazing!! We took daily walks in the community redwood forest DIRECTLY IN THE BACKYARD! Everything about this property breathed life into all of us. Would absolutely stay here again!

This is an impeccably maintained property, inside and out. The amenities are so nice including WiFi and security. While the furnishings are somewhat outdated, they are clean and tasteful. The outside deck is very kid friendly, and the walking trails just outside of that are such a nice perk. Our family will definitely return on our next reunion weekend with our HSU friends.

Loved the deck and landscaped and the home . So big and comfortable! The kids loved taking walks in the woods and seeing deer! Was very pleased with location . Furniture and rooms were all great! Loved it!💜

The property was amazing, well kept, immaculate and relaxing. It was the perfect rental for graduation weekend. We slept six very comfortably using the front room for visiting and the tables for meals and snacks. The yard and trail to the Community Forest was a treat. The carpet in the bathroom is odd, but everything was perfect! It’s a beautiful home from another era but had everything we needed! Would stay again in a heartbeat!

This is one of my favorite rentals I have stayed at. I can only dream of having a yard so beautiful. The weather was amazing during my stay so I was able to enjoy plenty of time on the deck and on the trail in the backyard into the Redwood Forest. There was plenty of room in the house to spread out. The beds were comfortable and the house was well furnished. You literally felt like this was your own home. Easy self check-in and there was plenty of information around if I needed to reach the local management. I highly recommend this property and will return to stay again.

We went up to Arcata for the weekend to celebrate our daughter's 19th birthday with her. WOW! This place is amazing. The location is everything. It's absolutely the best rental we have stayed at since we moved her up to CPH last August. So many of the pieces in the home were fond memories of my childhood, which was really extra touching since my aunt just passed away two weeks ago. It was a great home to be with family, celebrate family and remember family. Very spacious and immaculately clean. I slept in so I didn't get to enjoy the forest literally in the backyard before the storm hit, but my husband went for a walk and couldn't stop talking about it for days. I'm fairly certain he's going to try to sublet the garage for those walking paths. Ha ha. Thank you for a truly wonderful weekend and the opportunity to celebrate our daughter in a cozy home instead of a stuffy hotel room. We'll be back!

This spacious and beautiful property was a joy to spend Christmas week at. My family and I found the house very clean and cozy. They even left on Christmas music for our arrival!
There was plenty of space for us to spread out, but the main living room was also a cozy option with the fireplace.
The biggest bonus was access to the community forrest, right behind the property! It felt like we were stepping directly onto the Avenue of the Giants.

Cleanliness was top notch. The kitchen was well stocked. Gas stove made the TV room very cozy. Location was wonderful and quiet being at the end of the subdivision and adjacent to the Arcata Community Forest. Great yard. Especially liked the huge redwood stump in backyard. Very well maintained deck with nice outdoor furniture. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend to our friends. Please pass along our thanks to the owners.

The home was beautiful and comfortable. It was really close to local hiking trails which we enjoyed and close to campus. The neighborhood is also beautiful and very, very quiet which is a bonus but you need to be careful of any level of noise at all while on the deck even during non-quiet hours.

A clean, lovely home with a good kitchen, gathering spaces and comfortable furniture. You really can walk right out the door into the Arcata Community Forest and look at redwoods. Plan to unplug (i.e. don't try to work from here), internet works fine but not for calls or streaming, and we didn't get cell phone service in the house. It's slightly dim indoors (not much windows or strong lights) but for a vacation in the woods that felt thematic and soothing to us. And it is quiet. We liked Arcata too, it has better cafe and restaurant options than other towns of comparable size possibly because it's a college town. If you plan to cook the kitchen is well equipped, and I recommend the excellent bulk section of the North Coast Co-op so you can get spices and staples without buying more than you need.

What can we say? Amazing location in an upscale neighborhood. Beautiful and well appointed home and very well thought out. Had everything we needed in the kitchen and huge garage for us to unload our luggage and park our minivan! Loved this place and would love to stay again on our next visit!! Thank you so much 😊

This gorgeous rental is feet away from Arcata Community Forest, and all the trails therein. The home itself is lovely, with all the modern amenities, but it is full of antiques and beautiful vintage furniture, further extending the time capsule that Humboldt County is known for. The Managing company was hugely helpful and more than accommodating. We will most definitely seek them out again for future rentals. Seriously thinking of making this home a yearly vacation zone.

Beautiful home in the forest and near the highway
This house is amazing. Three bedrooms and very quiet. We hardly heard each other. Back yard is literally a redwood forest. Kitchen and house are well equipped for a week stay. Data is sketchy so be sure folks back home know your phone is not going to work all of the time.

Stayed for my daughter’s graduation. It was wonderful having family together. Really enjoyed stepping off the deck into the community forest. Very comfortable, lovely space. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing Place!!
This home was just that… someone’s home. It was warm and inviting. Incredibly well stocked and very comfortable. Backyard is just a few steps from the Arcata Community Forest. Wonderful place for a morning or afternoon walk! Quiet neighborhood and just couldn’t have been better. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!!

Great surprise in Arcata
We've been coming to Arcata for the last 4 years to watch our nephew play soccer at HSU. We just discovered this property as he is graduating and we feel like such idiots! Beautiful home, wonderful location, and so conveniently located to downtown and the university. Incredible hiking/biking literally behind the home as well as all of the total home experiences you would expect where you live...great place!

Beautiful
This property is amazing. However, a few things were missing such as kitchen staples like a cheese grater, sheet pan and basic seasonings. There is a big beautiful lawn- why not have Bocce Ball or Corn Hole games as an option. Also, there was a list of dates of when the gardener would be coming. The dates we were there was not listed but he did show up one morning. All of this being said it is still an amazing property. The deck and the Community Forest was my favorite.

Beautiful clean home in a A wonderful location. Quiet wooded residential area with property on the edge of the Arcata Community Forest - A Cathedral of Trees and Redwoods and the ocean beaches are but a short drive. We will be back.

Fantastic house!
I don't often leave reviews (I don't often stay in private homes like this) but this house was exceptional. My wife and I, our son, and our granddaughter stayed here for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house and grounds are beautiful, the neighborhood is very quiet, and the house was exceptionally clean. I would highly recommend it for a family or group of friends looking to spread out.

Wonderful house, amazing location!
We only had one glitch and that was that the house wasn't cleaned when we arrived. BUT one call had 3 ladies come out on their day off in the evening, and make everything spic and span in record time! The house is BEAUTIFUL! The inside definitely shows the character and history of the owner, which made it interesting. Everything that we needed was there. The extra plus for this property is that the Redwood Forest is literally at your back door! Tons of trails, and you just step out and are immersed in peace and beauty and awesome creation! We enjoyed our stay immensely, and would encourage you to go with this property. Great location for seeing all the coastal interests and plenty of access to the Redwood Groves less than 1/2 hour away. We also enjoyed Trees of Mystery with our 11 year old. Great place! Definitely 5 stars +!

Absolutely beautiful home!
Our family was absolutely stunned by the beauty of this relaxing home! We enjoyed the cozy environment inside the home and the most beautiful yard and neighborhood outside! We also enjoyed the Community Forrest trail so close and easy to access!! We all immediately felt right and home as we entered the front door and did not want to leave when our stay was over! The amenities offered and ease of using them were a pleasant addition! We look forward to staying at this home in the future and felt so grateful for the opportunity to stay in such a magical place!!

Much-needed Family Getaway
Our family enjoyed our driving vacation to Arcata and the location of this home. It was close to town but minutes away so we felt like we were in the quiet mountains and forest. The Community Forest and trails we’re directly behind the property so it was easy to walk right out the back door to do a walk. We enjoyed our week long stay at this comfortable home.

Great, cozy house!
I really loved staying here. Our group was 2 couples and we had tons of space. We spent lots of time in the sunken living room as well as in the main TV room with the gas fireplace. Fireplace was easy to use. Master bedroom had tons of space (huge closet!) and a very roomy attached bathroom. The yard and deck were also really big and nice -- would've spent quite a lot of time out there if it had been a little warmer outside. We loved walking on the network of trails behind the house, and Safeway was a 5-minute drive away for groceries -- super convenient. All in all, we had a great stay and would definitely return!
