I was expecting a cooked breakfast. But the continental was very good
It’s designed for self catering parties so a bit different. Not clear on booking.com

Absolutely everything was perfect. Highly recommend stay at the Tay house. Pet friendly , welcoming host , and you have a 5 star stay in a place you feel completely at home. Breakfast was gorgeous , you can help yourself to a select breakfast options in the fully equipped kitchen including fresh smoked salmon and fresh muffins.

Tay House is a really lovely place to stay. A lot of thought and detail has been put into the renovation to a high standard. Adequate parking, gated, just across the road. The bedroom I had was one of the smaller rooms but perfect for just me as was the bathroom (a bit of a squeeze if they’re were 2 of you but the other rooms are all of a very reasonable size). I particularly liked the relaxed arrangement for breakfast for the kitchen and you can access the kitchen 24 hrs. There was a plentiful supply of teas, coffee, muffins, bread etc and the fridge had milk, fruit juices, smoked salmon, yogurts and jams etc. Maybe some sliced cheese and cold meats for breakfast too? I nipped out to get some eggs and made a quick scrambled eggs to have with the already supplied smoked salmon and coffee. My only slight criticism would be that I still had to pay £200/night for a solo traveler, however on saying that I would be very happy to return to Tay House.
There was nothing I didn’t like to be honest (price could’ve been negotiated for a solo traveler possibly?)

A great stay at The Tay House in early November 2022. It was quiet at that time of year with only one other family staying.
Felicity on reception was great and very helpful. Hopefully we will be back soon and will probably pay for one of the bigger rooms.

The property was exceptional from the minute you set foot through the door from the welcome we received from the reception to the detailed explanation of all the available amenities included. it has truly embraced the feel of a country sporting lodge and with secure off street parking available. An excellent experience
Honestly the amount of choice of the self service Breakfast options was overwhelming

I enjoyed the self-service. Extremely accommodating hosts. Enjoyed my stay.

Bedroom and bathroom were very good. House location was very central, convenient for shops, restaurants, river walks. Garden furniture on decking beside river was appreciated too.
Breakfast was perfunctory - pretty basic. The house decor (shooting and fishing theme) was enjoyably and interestingly quirky, but seemed to lack anywhere well lit enough for reading. Also the kitchen bins had not been emptied for some time.

Excellent location within town but right off Main Street so private and quiet. beautiful view of the river from bedroom window.. large and exceptionally clean room and bath.

Very welcoming staff. We had the whole house to ourselves, breakfast is self service. Great location with private sitting terrace (across the road) on banks of River Tay, view across to Birnam Wood (but thankfully no hurlyburly!). Very convenient off-road parking. Country house/members' club decor inside. Memorabilia for the Spitfire enthusiasts.
Slightly pricey, but you are paying for the location.

Our room was quite small. It was fine for us as we were only staying for two nights.

Lovely accommodation in excellent location.
Manager was brilliant at making contact and ensuring our stay was easy.
Would definitely stay again.
Bathroom door stuck and didn’t close properly but not really an issue

The room was exceptional. Great views over the river. Comfortable, clean (huge) bed with lovely smelling sheets and duvet. Bathroom sparkling clean and had gorgeous-smelling products. We didn't realise breakfast was included and this was an unexpected bonus. Staff were there to meet and greet us and communicated quickly and efficiently to give us information. Well done!
I would have preferred a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities rather than a coffee machine only. I wasn't used to a coffee machine and so spend ages trying to figure out how to work it :)
