Was a great stay! Really enjoyed it

Mattresses were so worn it felt like sleeping in a hammock. Fresh towels on all the beds were damp upon arrival and had to be dried. Washing machine is dated and does little more than rinse clothing. Most of the furniture is very dated. One of us fell through a chair that was broken but just covered up with a blanket and pillows in the master bedroom. Views were great but whole home needs updating and doesn’t feel like it’s worth the price. Also- having to check out at 10 a.m. still feels ridiculous.

Water heater pilot light went out 5 times in 3 days. Electricity was intermittent, the lights flickered and the Wi-Fi kept getting knocked out. Great location, high up and right on the beach.

The beach house was wonderful. The space was excellent. The outside decks and inside living spaces were perfect for our needs. It does need a bit of work. The windows didn’t stay open and the screens were in poor repair or missing. The elevator was broken and the stairs to the beach were missing. However these were minor inconveniences, and we had a lovely stay.

Low Places offers a beautiful beach and stunning views of the ocean and marsh, but that's about it. The layout of the home is odd. What is called the main suite is a large, dorm-like room with bay windows, a large sliding door to the lower deck, and another large sliding door leading to the outdoor deck from the bathroom. This obviously provides no privacy. Cleanliness was questionable. All furnishings were tired, mattresses poor, and various throw 'rugs' and 'slipcovers' desperately needed cleaning or replacement. The kitchen utensils were scattered and appliances in poor working order. If you are looking for a great beach and stunning views, but not interested in creature comforts, this might be for you. Sadly, this property hasn't been updated or properly maintained. This is an overpriced rental.

While the location is perfect and the cleaning crew did the best they could.. The house itself is in poorer condition than I would have expected. Bathroom faucet heads falling off, a musty smell throughout, kitchen cabinets outdated, dishwasher needs repaired, there is older furniture throughput, a lot of chipping interior paint, a terrible master bed. I have stayed in a number of Folly Beachfront Homes and truly never experienced a disappointment like this. I'm not normally this negative, but this was disappointing.

Lots of space four 5 adults to spread out. Right on the beach. Nice decks to hang out on for views of ocean and marshes. Kitchen had all basics. Laundry detergent provided. Lots of fresh towels.

I couldn't give this any less than 5 stars due to the beachfront location and amazing views of both the bay and beach. The house in general can use updating, including furniture, but everything was serviceable and clean. The main floor and kitchen seem to be recently updated and the kitchen appliances were brand new. My only gripe was the out-of-service elevator (and Hurricane Ian), but my legs got a good workout from all the stairs.

Quiet location with lots of space for families both inside and out. Kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, spices etc better than most rentals. Communication from management company prompt and issues that arose during our trip we’re addressed quickly. Cleanliness and condition of property as expected for a beach house- needs some TLC but good overall no major issues.

The house has tons of room, we had a 4 and 1 year old, so we weren’t on top of each other. Because the house sits up so high, there are alot of stairs. There is an elevator, which we used the day we got there to get bags, groceries etc up to the 2nd floor, but chose not to use bc what if it got stuck? ( and that was a personal choice). 2nd floor porch/deck is awesome as were the ‘high/tall’ chairs. 2 of the bedrooms on the first floor were very hot, even with fans. All in all, we had a good time!!!!

We enjoyed our stay in Low Places. As with any rental, there are things that are broken and worn out, it's to be expected. Our 2 biggest negatives were the AC and the lack of a working ice maker. The master bedroom was really warm and humid, finally hitting over 80 degrees at night. We contacted Vacasa and they brought a portable ac unit to us, which was appreciated. An HVAC tech came by but he couldn't find the problem and couldn't access the ductwork to check it. All of the bedrooms on the lower level were warm but the master was by far the worst...at least a 10 degree swing from upstairs. We had to buy ice as the ice maker didn't work and I couldn't find ice cube trays. On the plus side, the views were spectacular, both the ocean and the marsh. You could take in the sunrise and sunset. There is plenty of beach at high tide and you are close to the lighthouse. There is plenty of room for family and friends to gather. We loved the higher chairs on the deck that allowed you to sit above the railing for an unobstructed view. We enjoyed our stay but hope they solve the AC issues. It is a lot of money to pay to not have a properly working unit. We don't keep our own home below 75 so we don't mind it a little warm but it honestly was too hot to sleep until they brought the portable unit.

Views of beach and river. Location Serious issues ;1. Follow up with issues is no acceptable. No where as good as it use to be. Ceiling fan in first level Queen bedroom is broken. We reported the issue and never received any feed back as promised 2. Cock roaches, Palmetto bug very large. First thought they were only on first level. First one was slow moving so we thought the house had been treated. Saw an killed several more and one got away. Still we thought they were restricted to first flow until one ran across my son in the upstairs BR while he was sleeping. No acceptable. Had to unload everything out side to ensure we didn’t bring any back. This not acceptable as we will have to pay $9000.00 for next year We have been staying at Folly for 17 straight years. We will not be staying at the house again Again not please with follow up

This property is located right on Folly Beach! It is far enough away from the public beach area but close enough to the Downtown Folly village area for dinner and souvenir shopping. We also love the fact that Charleston is only 20 minutes away. I’m sure we will be back!

Had a group of 8 guys stay there and had an amazing time. The view and patio are just amazing and the beach is so clean. It’s a little fatter from downtown folly so get a golf cart as it’s worth it. Overall, the place is great and we will be staying there again.

Overall, great experience. Clean and welcoming home ideally situated on the beach. A few items did not work and furniture was a bit dated but did not detract from our overall experience on the beach!

The ability to sit on one deck to drink coffee and watch the sunrise and then another to drink wine and watch sundown is such a treat! We also loved the multiple seating areas and made use of all of them. The only change I would make is some lounge chairs on the deck. Be aware- this house is so perfect you will want to bring your own food- no restaurant, on the island or off, can match these views! I would also note that we had one minor issue on the first night with the door lock- management was immediately responsive and sent someone right away to correct the problem. Thanks!

This house is in a perfect location, was spotlessly cleaned, well lit, incredible ocean views, working convenient elevator, ample parking, and huge sprawling spaces inside and gorgeous porches outside. I will absolutely rent again!

Great house for a family gathering. Can’t beat the views and quiet location. The home is well worn with various maintenance needed on windows and slider doors, etc.. The furnishings are old but comfortable. I suggested they purchase new nonstick frying pans, furnish pot holders, more kitchen towels and beach towels. It was nice having an elevator to bring the luggage and groceries up to the home in. The home worked perfect for our family and I would rent again. Can’t beat the awesome views!

Great time in Folly Beach, close to Charleston and plenty to do in the area. The house accommodations were great , easy check in. My only recommendation would be to update the furniture and decor. Overall a great experience!

We rented this house for my bachelorette party it was amazing! you can hear the ocean when you sleep (in the master bedroom). Very cute beachy decor and very clean! the beach feels very private, not a bunch of tourists etc (at least in oct). It is about 30 min from downtown charleston not 15

While we loved the ocean views and openness of the main floor, this home is in serious need of cleaning, painting, upgrades. Kitchen had broken knobs, peeling cabinets--just pretty shabby. Bathrooms: black crud/mold in shower. Living areas: gold couches are very old/shabby, and lots of need for paint and furniture upgrades. Master: windows off track, difficult to open, rusted vents. In general it needs a lot of TLC.

This property and beach access are beautiful, the property could use a really good deep clean but it fit our needs perfectly

Very nice home, with beautiful views throughout the house. House was very clean, and had many great features and amenities. I imagine constant maintenance is needed is many beach homes for obvious reasons, this is no exception. Elevator was inoperable, with many steps needed without it, and windows and sliders were hard to open, if at all. Everything considered, well worth stay, for comfort, cleanliness, convenience, and beautiful views.

VERY beautiful beach house — right on the water. Property was well maintained and clean. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend.

This is a great vacation house right on the beach! Our family had a great time and my daughter and I enjoyed the PGA Championship on Kiawah Island.

First the views and the location are incredible! Couldn't have asked for anything nicer when it comes to location and views! The provision of beach chairs was a nice touch and would have been even better if a few beach towels would have been provided. On the other hand, the home wasn't as clean as one would expect, especially during covid times. Upon arrival the kitchen floor was grimy and dirty with crumbs of food. The refrigerator had only 2 working shelves and the shelves in the door were cracked and wouldn't hold things without falling when you opened the door. The freezer also had only one shelf and the ice maker wouldn't work. Management did send out someone to do maintenance on the ice maker. He attempted to fix it, but ended up going to purchase two bags of ice for us. The kitchen was well stocked with all the needed essentials to cook and have meals with. The living spaces were nice but some of the chair and sofa slip covers were dingy and dirty. Not necessarily a nice invite to relax on. Would also be nice to have guidance on what remotes are needed to work the television. The bed and bath rooms were ok. The bed linens in the Master had a burn area on one of the corners. Upon arrival we were greeted by a ROACH in the master! (management called it a Palmetto bug but it is also in the roach family!) There was also one dead in the shower the next day. Management stated they are common in the area and they were sorry. But on our last night stay, there was one crawling on the headboard as we were trying to lay down to sleep! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!! There definitely needs to be a pest person called! The vent behind the headboard was also full of dust and hadn't been cleaned in a long while. Overall the stay was fine. This house could definitely be a diamond in the rough with some TLC and some updating and deep cleaning. We own a home listed on VRBO and I would hope someone would communicated their concerns so we could fix the problems for our guests, therefore that is why I am sharing our detailed concerns.
