Really nice place for friends or family. Lovely dock and relatively close to the beach.

Location is perfect. The canal was awesome. I brought my boat and being able to use the dock was great for boating. Would definitely recommend.

Our family enjoyed the sweet southern breeze as we gathered on the upper deck porch. The home was clean and the host very accommodating.

Despite rainy weather we had a wonderful stay at this canal house! The location is super convenient to all Surf City/Topsail has to offer. House is updated and well stocked with all the necessities for a families. Outdoor space is perfect for fishing or relaxing off the dock! Quiet and well maintained. Andrea was super responsive and answered all our questions quickly! We will be back!

We enjoyed renting this property out. It was awesome that it was dog friendly which is a big deal for us. The place was clean and fit our needs, we hope to come back.

This property is just fantastic! First the location cannot be beat. It's on the canal, which is great for kayaking (I highly recommend renting while there) and bird watching and relaxing and then it's a short 5-10 minute (depends on if it's adults or kids!) walk to a fantastic beach. The house itself is super clean, has a big kitchen with everything you need, a great shaded deck facing the canal as well as a dock. There are 3 proper bedrooms, and all the beds were comfy. There is a room downstairs, with a murphy bed, but we did not use it. It was super hot weather and the room was hot. Not a big deal at all because there was plenty of room upstairs and the A/C worked so well. I highly recommend this property!

The house was very clean and decorated so cute with a fully stocked kitchen! Sunsets were beautiful but we couldn’t enjoy as the bugs were biting so bad. Beach is close enough to walk if you have young adults and teenagers, my mom is over 70 and needed a ride due to distance. All parking by beach is now paid so be prepared for that if you want to park at the beach! Would definitely stay again.

Overall deep cleaning needed. Dirty, white and black dog hair over areas., shower bath areas need cleaning. Looked like dog had chewed on chair in MB. Grill filthy and could not cook out. Return filter black in areas and full of dog hair. Covid precautions not used.

We enjoyed our stay and loved being on the canal. Very clean and spacious for our family of 5. Loved sitting on the deck in the morning and evening watching boats go by and fish jumping out of the water. Kids floated on rafts on day one. Morning of day two we saw a croc/ alligator swimming down the canal so kids were too scared after that. Not sure if that is common or not, did not see another for the rest of our time. Not a bad walk to the beach unless carrying lots of beach gear. We splurged for parking pass next to beach since we like our tents and chairs and games and food/drinks at the beach. Beach was not crowded and water was very warm, no jelly fish! Thanks for a great house!

My family and I love this home. Such amazing views, it’s beautifully decorated and every year we always leave wanting to plan another trip back. Owner is also delightful and very responsive!

This is a really good property in a great location. It can be a little difficult to back out onto the busy road, but just be patient and that's fine! There's a lot of thing nearby, including a church and the EMS station, so there will be some noise at times. It seems like the windows could use an upgrade, as it can get noisy when motorcycles and things pass - but it's a busy location in the middle of the beach - you really can't expect anything else. The property is awesome and the owner is very receptive. We had a great time and would stay here again for surel

We really enjoyed our stay at sandy feet retreat! This beach cottage is beautiful with everything you need to make you feel right at home. We loved the dock and spent the evenings watching the sunset or taking the pups for a kayak ride. We would definitely book again.

The property was perfect for our family and our dogs! We loved the view of the canal, enjoyed fishing off the dock, and sitting on the deck for sunset. It was a very short walk t the beach as well! The owner was very responsive and accommodating! We would highly recommend this property and plan to be back again!

We rode our boat up for an extended weekend. The dock is in deep water and easy to access. The home was beautiful. Super easy check in, neighbors were friendly. Went to a few local spots to eat and hung out at the Trailer Bar that is within walking distance to hear live music. Caught the sunrise a couple of mornings with my dogs on the beach. Highly recommend!

Nice place for family beach trip. Location is great with canal access and quick walk to beach. House is good for our family of six. It met our expectations based on the listing and we would rent again.

We love Surf City, but this was our first time not staying on the ocean. We decided to give a house on the canal a try and we are so glad we did! We rented a golf cart and a double kayak, which just added to our fun! The beach is easy to get to and the canals were so fun to kayak in, and swim in for my daughter who loved jumping off the dock! It was very peaceful, quiet, and beautiful sitting outside on the deck or dock, no matter what time of day. The house had everything we needed and was very cute and comfortable. The owner communicated well and responded quickly with answers to some questions we had. October in Surf City on the canal has quickly become a favorite of ours and we would (and have) recommend this house to anyone!

We had a few days before sending our boys off to college and wanted some time to create some memories and "unplug". Our stay at the Sandy Feet Retreat was perfect. Morning coffees on the back deck, dinners at the table after a day at the beach and cards in the evening, it was just what we all needed. The beach house was the perfect size, we loved the location and it was absolutely peaceful., thank you. ***Don't forget to bring hand towels for the bathrooms and toilet paper.***

Owner very communicable and kind. Gorgeous neighborhood on the sound and close to beach and most all other necessities. Awesome view and comfortable porch to relax and enjoy. Lots of space. Needs a deep cleaning is the only suggestion for improvement.

The pictures do not do the property justice. This was our first time staying canal side and like another reviewer said, we may be converts. It's such a lovely change of scenery after a day at the ocean. The boys enjoyed watching fish jump out of the canal and trying to fish for their first time. The house is comfortable and the kitchen was fantastic for cooking dinners to be enjoyed on the gorgeous porch. We hope to return again before long!

We loved staying at Sandy Feet Retreat! We can’t wait to go back and stay longer. This was a quick last minute getaway before school starts back up and we only wish we had been able to stay longer. Everything was perfect. Our teen boys loved the rec area downstairs and my husband and I enjoyed the peaceful upstairs. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need in the way of dishes, utensils, and even small appliances. The covered back porch is perfect for morning coffee and the view is incredible! The location is super convenient to everything on the island. Thank you for sharing your vacation home with us.

It was a good experience

I normally like a place right on the beach but my husband and boys wanted to stay on the canal. We probably will forever look for places on the canal. We liked everything about this rental. Beds were comfortable, water pressure in the showers were great, kitchen had everything we needed including Tupperware for left overs or fruit. The dock kept my boys fishing 24/7 and the porch is so close we could be at the house and talk from there. The owner Trey was great with communication. The beach was a short distance but not walking distance if you have kids and lots of stuff to carry. We always rent a golf cart so everything was on point! Our trip was great! Would totally rent here again and highly recommend for families!

We had a great stay at this property. The private dock is perfect in the evening. 2 chairs are provided. The balcony has a nice view and plenty of seating. The kitchen is big and very well stocked with all kinds of dishes, glasses and serving platters to make a big meal. Bedrooms were comfortable. Overall, very nice and we would stay here again. Do remember to bring your own sheets and towels and toilet paper!

The house was a perfect size for me and my two friends. We loved the dock and the porch swings! It was an easy walk to the beach, and we even walked into Surf City a few times. The house lived up to its name in that it was pretty sandy inside, and there were a few items left behind by previous visitors. Other than that, we were very pleased with our stay.

We really enjoyed our time here! The owners have thought of everything and had the home well stocked with kitchenware, an outdoor grill and a second fridge for beverages. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable for all guests. My husband was able to dock his boat with no problems as well. It was easy and convenient to walk to the beach or friendly mart down the street. We would definitely stay again! thank you!
