Our family was traveling to the Tampa area for a celebration with family who lives there. The Bird House was a short 10 minute drive from most locations we visited. Our adult son has mild developmental disabilities and autism and was THRILLED when he saw that he had his own private area downstairs with his own bath, etc. He seldom gets to enjoy that much privacy. (The steep stairs were a bit scary for us “old folks”, but he managed them just fine.) My husband, sister and I enjoyed having our morning coffee each day on the upstairs balcony, as well as having everything we needed in the kitchen to fix breakfasts and snacks. Lol - I even came home and already ordered the shampoo brand from Amazon that you had in the upstairs bathroom because it was so nice! The peace and quiet was such a nice respite from the parties and celebrations of the weekend. We will be back!

Has everything you need. Great place for adults. The house is very nice. The yard is beautiful with wild life to watch.

We're picky about where we stay. MUST be clean, quiet, good location, well-stocked, good communication, prompt assistance when needed, quality furniture (& mattresses), and reliable appliances. The Bird House met all our requirements and EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS. We are picky and we had not a nit to pick. Mark and Cynthia are EXCELLENT hosts. It was immediately apparent from our first communication that they make every effort to accommodate their guests, and they succeed. We have rented many properties (30+) over the last 20 years and the Bird House has been our BEST EXPERIENCE.

This is the second time we stayed there. Great location, beautiful view and very homey. Mark and Cynthia are great hosts!! We look forward on our return next year

The owners provide everything you can possibly need in this clean and well maintained Old Florida house. It is in a perfect location down a side road, under Live Oak trees - walkable to Main Street Safety Harbor and a short drive to all of Tampa Bay - a relaxing and special Oasis. We loved our stay!

Not often do we rent a house that had absolutely everything! Mark and Cynthia have lovingly restored this lake front home leaving a few hints and touches of the Old Florida I recall growing up in mid-century, while adding in every modern convenience. Gorgeous new kitchen appliances, sparkling bathrooms, excellent lighting for either a romantic mood or bright enough for older eyes to cook and read. Comfortable furniture throughout and most all of it solid hardwoods or carefully curated antiques. They carried the Bird House and sea side theme throughout— original art, handmade pottery, bed and bathroom linens, and accessories. All carefully chosen and placed. Everything we needed was at the house from the reverse osmosis water filter on the two kitchen sinks, bottled water in each refrigerator, snacks, pantry items, flashlights, batteries, binoculars, and even umbrellas in a basket by the front door. Anything you would want, you just looked in the logical place for it and there it was. When the front door lock gave a low battery notification, Mark was over at the house within the hour changing out the batteries for us. When a line of storms came through, and we were under a tornado warning, we headed downstairs and found a room with no windows and a barn door to close behind us. Fortunately, we received only rain and enough wind to blow some leaves off the trees, but I had to laugh at how the house even had a safe room! What a rare find this house truly is!

Multi living areas ideal for a family stay. Park-like backyard with nature sounds is a great morning coffee spot! Friendly hosts with easy communication. Location close to many amenities.
