Arden House Hotel is a delightful and charming small country house hotel. Very warm welcome and extremely lovely staff. My room was great, really attractive as well as comfortable. I had chicken in leek sauce in the restaurant for my dinner and it was delicious. I thought it was brilliant value for money and would highly recommend Arden House.

I thought it was great, so nothing that I didn't like.

Location was ideal, about a mile from centre of town with plenty of parking. The en-suite room was fairly small but clean and adequate for our needs, plenty of hot water and tea/coffee, etc. The breakfast was exceptional with the usual choice of cereals, yoghurts, fruit, orange juice. Full Scottish breakfast was good quality and well cooked. The evening menu was varied and value for money.

It's a country house, with character. Our room was spacious and had the facilities you would expect. Although the menu was not particularly adventurous, portion sizes were very generous and food was nicely cooked. There was plenty of secure space to store our bikes. We didn't explore the grounds because the weather was wet.

It's out of town, but then you are not going to find a country house in town!

Perfect location for visiting Galloway area, Hotel is quiet being set back from the road and not too big so it feels cosy and welcoming . Owner and staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent choice of meals in the restaurant.

Maybe some fresh fruit , other than grapefruit , could be offered at breakfast. Otherwise we loved everything.

There isn't anything that I didn't like

Views from the; front excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast good choices well presented. Care given re Covid. When the water stopped around 9 pm due to a burst pipe in the road, a large bottle of water was given and the water was back on in the morning.

I had a single room which looked out on a courtyard but the price reflected that.

What a great stay , beautiful hotel spotlessly clean ,lovely grounds .Friendly helpful staff .Good food ,what else could you ask for .We will be back
