This is an excellent hostel. The environment is very good. I really enjoyed the breakfast and that there were both coffee and tea during the whole day. The kitchen is well equipped, the only thing that lacks is a proper owen (there are two micro). The storage box under the bed is excellent.

There are few restrooms which is especially notable in the morning. The upper bed in bunk bed was a little difficult to get out from. A minor thing, provide a toilet brush so the guest can clean if he has done a mess with number two. That will make it nicer for the next guest

The place is amazing! Excelent service, nice rooms, amazing and friendly patio and a very good location. I really loved this place! Top of my favorites list.

I think they could have more individual bathrooms.

It is about 10m from the airport, it is very clean and it has a great atmosphere.

No eggs for breakfast

The location was great, 3 min walk to the beach. The common areas and general vibe was also awesome, definetely what made the hostel so special.

I generally enjoyed everything. Maybe the only thing that I missed was nicer common areas indoors since it rained for some of the days I was there and the indoor areas weren't very cozy.

The beds were comfortable and the facilities were clean. Staff were very helpful and everyone staying there was friendly - it was easy to meet people as a solo traveller.

The area is a bit out of the way but it’s definitely one of the best spots in San Diego so it’s worth it!

-Keine Arbeitsplätze innerhalb der Unterkunft -Mitarbeiter teils sehr unfreundlich -Nicht wirklich sauber -Man muss das Bett selbst beziehen -Schlechte Luft im 4 Bettzimmer (und zu klein) -Das schlimmste: Ich habe leider mich mit der Check Out Zeit vertan und als ich duschen war, hat der Mitarbeiter wegen 20 Minuten (!) Verspätung ohne meine Einverständnis meine Sachen weggeräumt und hat teils meine Sachen in fremde Tüten getan! Musste mit einem Handtuch nackt zur Rezeption um meine Sachen zu holen. Wenn dann nimmt irgendwie Geld für verspätetes Check Out ab, aber sowas geht gar nicht. Noch nie erlebt zuvor.

Is clean, colorful, have good vibes, the beds are really comfortable!

The patio was for smokers. Personally I don't like it but I understand that they have to have areas. Just so you know when you go.

Friendly people both staff and hostel dwellers. Bars a bit cheaper than LA with proper pints and free entry. Good competitive yet friendly welcoming pool playing at bars just up from the beach.. Winstons club had a truly great band playing with large group of banging musicians and multiple happening vocalists, great after a skin full of Hazy IPA, makes you dance on the wind, you just don't want it to stop...

If you do not like Ocean Beach and the Samesun Hostel there then you should give up backpacking...Banging music at Ocean Beach

Great people, great facilities, superb location. If you do not enjoy here or any of the other Samesun hostels then you should quit backpacking. Perfect place.

Returning to Britain was a killer after this trip.

Ein tolles Hostel! Das Personal ist super nett, es gibt eine top ausgestattete Küche und einen wunderschönen Außenbereich der zum Entspannen einlädt. Alles sehr sauber! Super ist auch der kleine Spint, in dem man wichtige Dokumente abschließen kann. Außerdem sind es keine 5 Minuten zu Fuß zum Strand, absolut top!

Die Lage ist super zentral in Ocean Beach, weshalb es aber gerade am Wochenende auch in den Zimmern laut werden kann, da auf der Straße sehr viel los ist.

The location is bomb!! It is located directly on the OB. The strip has a lot to do and it is not overwhelming at all. The front desk staff is really cool and very helpful. They understand your needs. I liked the comfort of the bed. All of the linen smells extra nice. The showers have the convenient shower heads so you can pull around and really feel the clean. I love the art vibe. The guests for the most part are friendly. I for one snore and the fellow travelers survived me. There are ear plugs at the front desk where necessary. I felt that this place is therapeutic when you are mentally trying to recover from day-to-day life. There are personal charge stations in each individual bed so no more fighting to find a place to plug in as well, there is a personal little night light. For the most part, getting sleep, its a quiet place. It is what you make it. This hostel is very accommodating. I felt at home with the swings on the porch. This place reminds me of "the Green Tortoise" located in Seattle in a sense and I was very comfortable there as well. There are plenty of equipment to rent for surf side activities that travelers / back packers / people in transition love to do. Rentals like surf boards, wet suits, guitars, towels, etc. This community is very diverse and very welcoming as a whole. No one will feel weird nor left out. I like the place so much I stayed the entire allotted 14-days. I don't usually do that, I come and go, or hit-and-miss. I felt extreme comfort in the environment and if I found that I needed the hostel again next year- January... I definitely would use again! I love this place.

The only thing that I didn't like, and only if I could honestly call it a dislike is... Only if the breakfast - the one meal offered could be a little more appealing. I was in love with the fruit and the mini health bar but.. I mostly ate out side - voluntarily. I'd go to the nearby smoothie truck or over to Starbucks at around 5:30am or so because breakfast starts at 7:30am. I'm ahead time zone wise, so I skipped the meal. A regular cup of Joe through the wee bits of the night could be nice as well. Its just a thought. My biological is not on California time zone so I look like and early riser to the ones who very possibly are on CA time zone.

Great location. Great common areas. Great staff. And clean, clean, clean. I've stayed here 3X and the place attracts either surfers or partiers (staff does great job enforcing rules and keep things under control). One of the best hostels I've experienced, worldwide.

Dieses Hostel ist einfach perfekt! Das Team ist super freundlich, die Atmosphäre ist sehr entspannt, sehr sauber, modern und die Lage ist auch super. Ich war schon das zweite Mal dort und es war wieder eine tolle Zeit!

The property is located next to the ocean beach. You can rent surfboard and surfing gears from the hostel at reasonable price. The staff is very courteous and polite. The check in was super easy. You can hangout in the common area even after checkout. You get free breakfast even at that affordable price.

I never usually leave reviews but I loved my stay at Samesun and would highly recommend it to other travellers. Great value for money, rooms were comfortable and quiet despite there being a nice ambience with music in the hallways. Facilities and staff were excellent too! Would definitely stay again.
