The cabin is large and well maintained. It has two bedrooms downstairs with a king in one and a queen in the other. We found the king bed very comfortable because we love soft beds, The downstairs bathroom is convenient and has a shower/tub. The upstairs has a large sleeping room with FIVE beds !! It has a full bath with a shower. The area around the cabin has many trees and and then a meadow. No great views but plenty of room to run with a dog and stargaze after dark. The Vacasa property rental service was very responsive. Idyllwild village is an 8 minute drive. The kitchen is good and upgraded. There is a game chest, a video player and strong internet.

Much of the forest in this mountain area is deteriorating. When they said the cabin was on Foster Lake Road, I was eager to go see the small mountain lake, but the area is closed indefinitely. However, Idyllwild is surrounded by a National Forrest so there are plenty of places to hike even if you have to drive a little ways.
