We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite. It was wonderful! The hot tub was very nice, the room was one of the biggest I've ever stayed in my life, and they had three flat screens in each room. Hillsborough is a very cute little historical town. You can definitely spend a day or two in the town and see what it offers. They preserved the historical architecture of the town. Also, the Colonial Inn's complimentary cinnamon rolls were magnificent. I highly recommend a stay over there.
The only thing missing was bathrobes in the room. Our room had hot tub in it and I would like to relax on my bed with a robe on sipping my wine. It was not a necessity, and didn't affect our stay. Just a recommendation.

Everything was great, beautiful place and very friendly staff.
So I was very happy with everything except I think because our reservation was lost or what ever happened we got the handicapped room? Not totally sure but my parents room was beautiful where mine was nice but handicapped??

I loved the cinnamon rolls for breakfast. The food was excellent for dinner as well. It was a fantastic location to explore the shops and restaurants of historic Hillsborough. The shower was incredible.

Couldn’t get into the lobby at 7.30 am, it was locked - no coffee maker in room.

The property felt open and welcoming, and super safe at the same time. I enjoyed the outdoor space between the rooms and the original building. I loved seeing fliers for outdoor yoga in the Colonial Inn lawn at the local coffee shop and market.
The coffee and breakfast options were great for some, but not super inclusive if you have food allergies or intollernaces.

We loved absolutely everything about this place! We will definitely be back! The staff was amazing. The room was amazing. Just everything about this place was amazing.

Location was nice, did not care for the parking.
While there may be nothing you can do about it, we were a bit disappointed in the lack of places to eat breakfast.

Friendly, helpful staff.
Let folks know you really have to double check that the room door is fully closed. The door sound can fool you.

I missed breakfast this time, but the cinnamon rolls smelled wonderful. The coffee was great. I liked the local artwork in the room. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. I hope to to enjoy a glass of wine on the porch my next stay.
I would have liked a lamp that I could turn off from my bed. Also a table of some kind, maybe a small console, where I could put things down.
