Up in the trees, away from noise, nice Mountain View’s. House is beautiful, well-equipped with high-end amenities. Goats are really cute, fun fun fun. Also deer frequently appeared. Close to eateries. Loved this place!

For her birthday, our daughter wanted to ski with a few of her friends at Wintergreen like many times before. We have always stayed at the top of the mountain, but this time we decided to try something different. The reason was the description of this listing - it sounded like a great opportunity to be closer to nature on a private farm. It exceeded every expectation - the property was very well maintained, the year round ducks were happy to see us, as were the goats, the pond and hiking trails were great, and the house was warm and welcoming. You can tell the owners have put significant thought and effort into the details to ensure a great stay. When it was time to leave, we all definitely wished we had more time!

We had a terrific weekend at Four Elements Farm. The farmhouse is beautiful and very nicely furnished, with plenty of space for our family, and the kitchen was large and very well equipped for all the cooking we did. The views were spectacular, the location is great, just a few seconds from Devils Backbone Brewery but very private on the large property. We enjoyed hiking on the trails up the hill that started right at the farmhouse. No crowds like on the AT, you will have the mountain all to yourself. And feeding the goats and ducks was fun as well. Craig was easy to reach, a great host. We'll definitely plan on returning to Four Elements Farm on our next trip to the area.

We enjoyed the hottub and night sky, and the firepit and inside fireplace. The kids had plenty of room to roam and enjoyed feeding the animals every morning.

Our group consisted of an 83 year old with mobility issues, young adults, a Golden Retriever, and the rest of us clinging to middle age folks. Everyone had a wonderful time! The home was set up perfectly for us- the first floor bedroom that joined the living room and dining room was perfect for my mother in law who could be a part of the goings on without any problems. The downstairs was perfect for the young adults to feel like they had a space of their own. And the rest of us enjoyed free reign. The house was equipped with everything we needed and then some! Absolutely gorgeous surroundings with tons of room to explore and spread out. Amenities galore kept everyone entertained without even leaving the property. But the area provided plenty to do as well. The owners, Craig and Kerry are friendly and welcoming- we arrived to a bottle of local wine, all the fixings for s’mores, and even a treat for our fur baby! Exceeded our expectations and we look forward to returning in the future!

This was our first time to the area and the property. The property is kept very, very well and had all the creature comforts of home. The goats and ducks were awesome The owners were very responsive to any issues. It is one of the best properties we have visited and hope to visit it again in the future.

Spent long relaxing weekend with family at this lovely house. House is beautifully decorated and well equipped. Didn’t feel much need to leave except to get groceries. Beds are very comfortable. Dogs and young adult children had a great time! Craig is a responsive and accommodating host.

Clean, quiet property very near some breweries and several nice restaurants within a half hour. We went on a variety of hikes including some smaller ones right on the property. Owner was friendly, and quick to respond to any questions. Varied age range in group and we all had a good time. This is a great base to explore the area.

We just got home from a long weekend trip to the breweries/wineries around Wintergreen and the 4 Elements Farm was a GREAT place to stay.
The house is the epitome of farmhouse chic.
Perfect for 3 couples to stay in absolute comfort or a large family.
We pulled into driveway to a three deer welcome along the tree line in the front yard.
We cooked dinner one of the nights and breakfast each morning and had everything we needed.
Nightly fires in the huge fireplace, even on the nights that weren't very cold, were a relaxing change of pace. You forget how nice a real fire is when you have the convenience of flipping a switch. You miss that smell!!
The rain hindered our exploration of the property, but we did get to visit a little with the goats and ducks before we left.
Craig was very accommodating and quick to answer any questions we had.
We have found a place to stay anytime we come up to the mountains in the future.

Loved this little gem tucked away but still near so many wineries and breweries. Very peaceful with the hot tub on the deck overlooking the property. The inside has been updated but they kept a lot of the old charm. It was perfect for our girls weekend.

Enjoyed so many parts--sunrise on the deck, the fire pit chats, feeding the ducks and hiking to find the waterfall. Family games at the dining room table were cherished as was hot tub under the stars. Comfortable beds sealed our wonderful vacation!

Cute farmhouse close by cool local winerys and breweries. The property was massive with lots of great hiking and exploring. Craig was a great host and very responsive to our needs. We all had a great time, even the dogs.

Amazing Location and Stay!
This is our 2nd year staying here - tucked away in the mtns its a special place that has it all - ponds, ducks, goats, mtns, scenery, location - hikes on the 100 acres in the morning, winery/brewery in the afternoon - and beautiful weather to boot! Would highly recommend!

A gem in Roseland/Wintergreen.
Excellent location for visiting local wineries as well as hiking OR just hanging out in the solitude of this hillside farm. It doesn’t get better than this!

Great getaway close to breweries!
Our group was three couples and two dogs. It rained but we still enjoyed this comfy and cozy cabin. Cozy doesn’t mean small though; living room has plenty of seating, dining table plenty big for playing games, and kitchen is good sized. Foyer area was great for coming in and out with our rain coats and dogs. Loved the fact that each couple could have a king sized bed and their own bathroom. The primary bedroom downstairs is amazing. The hot tub was great with beautiful views and even blue tooth music, and the deck was very nice. The views are lovely and you feel very secluded despite being very close to Devil’s Backbone, Bold Rock, and other places. Our group enjoyed visiting the goats. Craig is a very responsive host and made us feel welcome. Thanks for everything!

Lovely house on the wine trail.
The whole family had a great visit. Feeding the ducks and goats was a highlight! The hikes on the grounds were fun and doable for all ages. Nearby attractions of wineries, breweries, the Blue Ridge Tunnel trail and Charlottesville rounded out a great 5 days. And of course, thank you to Craig!

Magical getaway spot
Look no further. This is an absolutely amazing property. There is no detail missing. The home is charming , so well appointed and perfectly situated. You will have the best time with your family or friends here. You don’t even need to leave the property but there is plenty to do if you want to go off property. The owners are the BEST!! Beautiful Cabin
The house was clean and check in was easy when we arrived. It was centrally located for the breweries and resort. We enjoyed the hot tub very much and would love to come back in the future!

Thoroughly enjoyed the home.
Had an awesome time at the house and enjoyed hiking through the woods. It's also nice that everything you need is provided for you, from linens and towels to even firewood for the fireplace and fire pit.

Weekend ski/snowboard gettaway
Weekend ski/ snowboard trip for my daughter and some friends. Very nice house. Old farm house/ cabin feel. Bathrooms and kitchen nicely updated. Easily sleeps 8 people with room for more. Very large lot and open space with lots to do. Owner is very friendly. About 15 minute drive to the resort

Relaxing Getaway!
We decided to take a girls trip to the Charlottesville area to get away for a bit and explore. We had such an amazing time exploring the many breweries and wineries in the area! The property was absolutely beautiful and we couldn’t get over how comfy and cozy the house was! We wished we booked a longer stay! Craig was great with communicating and was so nice to let us meet their recently born kids (baby goats) :). We will definitely be back! Thank you for an amazing weekend away!

Perfect Serenity
This cabin is the perfect combination of scenic views, coziness, and comfort. The property is so gorgeous that the photos online don't do it justice. If you're looking for an unplugged and relaxing get away, this is it. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay perfect. From the state-of-the-art hot tub to the already chopped firewood for the indoor fireplace, this place has it all. The next time my family visits the Shenandoah Valley or Charlottesville, we will be clamoring to stay here again.

Great New Years Get Away
This was such a great way to ring in the new year. We loved exploring the trails every day and spending times with the goats and ducks. The house is cozy and has everything for a relaxing weekend away, including the wonderful hot tub!

Quiet Getaway
It is a charming farmhouse with a lot of great amenities, my family really enjoyed the hot tub. The views from the back porch were spectacular. We really enjoyed feeding the ducks and the goats. The owner was very responsive, and actually went out of their way to set up a Christmas tree and decorate the family room, which we really appreciated.
We did hike several of the trails, including the waterfall hike. The place is very quiet and relaxing, it is a bit far from groceries, though we were planning on cooking anyway. It is very close to a lot of breweries and restaurants. It should be noted it is only 10 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Great experience all around!
Only great things to say about 4elements. Starting with the owner - Craig was perhaps the most responsive host of any VRBO property that we have stayed in! The house was comfortable, clean, and perfect for our family. Everything we needed. The property was well kept - we made good use of the pond and caught a lot of fish and good use of the lawn. Location was great near lots of hiking, climbing, biking, breweries, wineries, cideries - something for everyone.

The inside of the house was really clean with attractive but simple furnishings, loads of towels, all the firewood you could use and is well suited for traveling with a dog, which we did. The house is very comfortable and the AC kept up with the really hot (>90’s) weather while we were there in August. The driveway is long and paved, but also old, so it’s bumpy and might be tough for small cars in rough weather. The new owner is starting some updating of outbuildings on the property and there seemed to be deferred maintenance when they bought. We used the IGA in Nellysford close by for basic perishable food and it was easy to get to and from. There’s a nice bakery right next door. We ate at the local brewery and cidery with our dog on the patio and were well received and weren’t the only ones with a dog. We saw a family of deer every day and watched the ducks acting like they own the place. The trails around the property are either mostly level or straight up the hill. Other longer hikes aren’t a long drive away. We enjoyed both. It’s a nice place to visit and really relax.

We stayed at Four Elements Farm for a 30th birthday weekend and had an incredible time. The house is well-stocked and very comfortable. We enjoyed exploring the property, hanging around the fire pit, and visiting with the ducks. The house is located really close to all the wineries and breweries, and is perfect for friends or family looking to get away. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful farm home in the woods
My family and I just returned from a wonderful stay at the farm. We explored the trails, fed the ducks, played on the tire swing, and roasted marshmallows. The home was very well appointed and clean. The host was amazingly responsive, we will absolutely be back- thanks for sharing 4 Elements with us :)

Wonderful stay!
The house was wonderful and the owner was exceptionally communicative. We have 3 kids and it was great to have so much land to explore (the ducks were extra special) and also to be so close to Wintergreen. There was an issue with an appliance and it was replaced in less than 4 hours. I was wowed by that for sure and can’t wait to stay again.

Perfect Retreat!
Perfectly located, clean and well stocked, Four Elements Farm was the ideal location for a short winter break. Loved exploring the local breweries that were so close. Great hiking right on the property. Private and secluded but close to everything you would want to visit in Nelson County: Wintergreen, Devil’s Backbone, Bold Rock, Blue Mountain Brewery, Silverback Distillery, Afton Mountain and countless wineries. Perfect for families or several couples. Owner, Craig, was very helpful and great to work with. I highly recommend this place and we are sure to book again!

Modern farm in the mountains
We had a wonderful experience at 4 Elements farm. The home is equipped for a lovely, relaxed stay. The inside is completely updated, with a modern farmhouse flair. We loved exploring the property, and feeding the friendly ducks! The house is in close proximity to Wintergreen and even closer Bold Rock cider. Craig is very accommodating and responsive. Highly recommend staying here if you can! We hope to be back.
