Some fans for the bedrooms would be useful

Not much. It was nice to be up in the ‘tree tops’.

Firstly, when we opened the door, we were hit with an awful smell - not just a musty 'window's haven't been opened for a while' smell, more like a combination of a moldy and sewer-y smell, which got worse as we walked into the laundry and bathroom area. It was so bad that we had to constantly keep the door to the toilet, and the laundry closed, to minimise the smell in the living and bedroom areas. As soon as the laundry door and toilet door were opened, it filled the house with that awful smell again. This is really unacceptable and must be addressed immediately - it's likely a health and safety issue, especially when renting a property out. As was reported in a review of the property back in Jan/Feb this year (2021) all of the curtain pully things along the curtain tracks were broken and we could barely close the curtains. I had actually emailed before we checked in to check that all of the issues had been addressed since the review was written about 4 months ago, and was advised that 'the owners had worked hard to resolve any issues'. This led me to believe that the issues had been resolved, so I was surprised to see that this was still an issue. Other issues that were noted in that same review 4 months ago was a hole in the wall, which is still there, badly stained hanging wardrobe shelves, which are still there, and the tiles around the wood heater clearly hadn't been cleaned for a while, which is still the case. Not really good enough. The doona cover in the king bedroom looked like it hadn't ever been washed, it was actually really revolting - the bed and bedroom looked terrible when we walked in. Thank goodness we had to take our own linen as I'd hate to think what it would have been like if it was provided. I made sure that my top sheet was well & truly folded over the doona so that it didn't touch me at night.

Overall clean but in need of some TLC. Very comfy couch. Kitchen amenities were good.

Broken curtain tracks, badly stained hanging wardrobe shelves, hole in wall, grit/dirt falling from ceiling onto dining table and the tiles around wood heater clearly hadn't been cleaned for a while. The low cost of fixing these problems would make a big difference to the feel of the place. Also the free toiletries promised were non existent, not even a bar of soap to wash hands. Advertised air conditioning turned out to be a small fan.
