The home was beautiful, well laid out, and in the best location. The views are amazing. Had some slight issues in the bathrooms, but the home owner communicated quickly to get them resolved. The owner even called me to make sure it was handled immediately. Overall my family and i enjoyed and would stay again in a heartbeat.

The family thoroughly enjoyed the vacation! the property was clean and comfortable. Jodi and Simon were extremely accommodating and helpful. I recommend this property and the hosts!!

House was very nice and clean. Great location, close to beach access and multiple restaurants.

The condo was just as perfect as the pictures. The hosts thought of everything from a full stocked kitchen, travel shampoo/ conditioner (especially helpful in the outdoor shower), games for the kids, and sound machines in each room. The condo has amazing views on both sides of the house with multiple balconies. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway at Topsail. The hosts were very responsive if we needed anything throughout our stay.

The house was very comfortable and perfect for our family get together, as everyone came from different parts of the country. The house had everything you could want and there was easy access to the beach. The fenced backyard was a nice space to celebrate our oldest child's 30th birthday. A minor glitch on check-in was promptly taken care of by the owners and they went above and beyond what was expected even though it was through no fault of their own. We very much recommend their beach house.

The house was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The kids loved the pool and the proximity to the beach. Highly recommend!

We stayed here 2 years ago and loved it. This time was even better. Everything was very clean and decorated as if you were living there full time. The amenities and little touches by the owners and linen company were awesome. We didn't want to leave, but the kids put up a fight not to leave. A great place for families and kids.

This is our fifth year in this home - we continue to return as it’s perfect in many ways!! The house provides adequate space for our family and, the location is fabulous!!

This house has everything you need to enjoy a beach vacation. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, plates, and cups. There is plenty of space for everyone to be all together but have their own privacy at the same time. The balconies on each room is an incredible bonus! The backyard is awesome; gas grill, patio, and yard space allows for great outdoor entertaining and extra room for kids to run around in a closed in space. The outside shower is the best shower at the house! It does have a little bit of a walk to the beach but we did it with two toddlers and it was very doable. Our family enjoyed being just a short drive away from grocery stores and the fresh crab/fish market. This is the second year we have stayed here and we are already trying to plan when we can come back

We were looking for a house that would hold our family. We had kids and grandkids coming & going on different days. This house was exactly as described! It was perfect foe our stay.

Our extended family of 7 had a great week at Josi Whales. Good communication with the owner & easy check in. House was clean, well decorated with amazing ocean views. The kitchen has everything you need. It’s a short walk to the beach & you can ride bikes to shopping & restaurants. Plenty of furniture for enjoying the decks & patio.

We really enjoyed this property! The floor plan was perfect for our family. Our son, daughter-in-law and young grandson had their privacy on the top floor. We loved the ocean views on the east side and nightly sunsets from the west side. The walk to the beach was convenient and we frequented the community pool right across the street. We will definitely stay here again!

Josi Whales was the perfect beach house for our family of 6 adults and two babies. The house had everything you could need for a trip to Topsail. Very clean and immaculately kept. We loved that linens were provided. Beach is just about a three minute walk. Hope to stay here next year!

Everything about this stay was wonderful! Location was excellent, communication was on point, facilities were gorgeous.

We had a wonderful family vacation, the house was absolutely beautiful and had everything we needed. It was clean upon arrival, and the linens and bath towels were provided which we appreciated. We enjoyed the tiki bar and grilling out, and the kitchen had all the amenities we needed for everyday cooking. It was a short walk to the beach and it was nice having beach chairs, boogie boards, and umbrella provided. We would definitely recommend this house, we had the best week at Topsail!

What an absolutely perfect location and home for our family vacation. We are quite detailed people, and there was absolutely nothing that I would change about this rental. It was close to the the beach, access to the pool literally across the street, property clean, and everything you needed within the home. We will definitely plan to come back!

This beach house is amazing!! Upon arrival we were surprised to find that the cleaning crew neglected to come. We contacted Jodi and she offered to send someone right away, but we figured it was easier to just do it ourselves. Jodi was super responsive and totally made the situation right, even sending us some snacks and beverages through Instacart. The house has an amazing floor plan and is beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well equipped and the grill in the yard was a huge bonus. The beach is just a short walk away and stunning. The beach chairs and boogie boards made for easier packing and were much appreciated. When we return to Topsail, this house will be at the top of our list of places to stay!

This property was wonderful! Very clean and it had everything you could possibly need on vacation. Kitchen was a cook's dream...lots of pots/pans/utensils. Location was great including beach access. We loved everything about our vacation home...can't wait to rent again!

This house was exactly what is pictured! Views from every balcony were amazing. The house was perfectly set up for multiple families/couples. The beach was a short 3 min walk and was not crowded, even in the middle of July! The sand and water of North Topsail Beach exceeded our expectations. We will stay here again for sure!

We really liked this house/property. We have been coming to Topsail Island for over 20 years, and we have stayed in oceanfront houses, second row houses, oceanfront condos, etc.. This was probably the nicest house we have stayed at on the Island. It was beautifully decorated, very clean, and had terrific views of the ocean and sound, off the numerous decks. The price was fair, and the location is pretty good-near the amenities of Surf City. The beds were super comfortable, and the bathrooms were very nice and new. Having a quality (Weber) grill and a "back yard" to use it in, was a bonus, since most properties don't have a grill, or have it on the deck, where you are not permitted to use it. We used the elevator often, and it saved a lot of strain on our older legs. We would always prefer to have direct, over-the-dunes private beach access, but if you don't have multiple families to split the cost of the big private-pool oceanfront houses, then this location is the next best thing. There is a nice little restaurant/bar across the street with beach access and live music on the weekends, which our adult kids really enjoyed. The kitchen was among the best we have had at Topsail. The appliances were newer and worked well, and the pots, pans, etc. were newer and in much better shape than the ones we usually encounter. The 85" wall mount TV in the living room is awesome. The Owner, Jodi, communicated with us by email during our trip, and was responsive to our questions. You can tell they care. Cons? The community pool water was a little cloudy for our taste, but it appeared clean, and was perfectly located near the house. The road was pretty busy for crossing on the weekend (but that compromise comes with being across the road and paying lower rents). Bugs were biting pretty bad most nights, so we couldn't often sit in the tiki bar area, and the under-house driveway was just barely wide enough for my F-150. We had to move the cars to put the trash out, as we couldn't get the cans past the cars and building columns. The beach was pretty crowded if you didn't set up by 9:00 AM. All and all, though, these are minor issues. Would we stay there again? Absolutely. We stayed in Village of Stump Sound last year, and the beach was closer and less crowded, but this house was far nicer and better than that one in every way. If we go back to Topsail in 2022, this house will definitely be on our list.

The house is amazing. Some of the nicest furnishings of any rental I have been in. Plenty of space to spread out or spend time together. The pool is so close it feels like a personal pool and the beach is such a short walk, making it easy to go and come back for lunch. I felt like we could actually live in the house. It has everything you need and a good homey feel.

We had an amazing stay at Josi's Whales. Do not hesitate to book this place. It was clean upon arrival- the linens where there waiting for us (and included in the price of the rental- which is extremely rare on VRBO!- much appreciated!). Beach chairs and boogy boards were there ready for us and saved us tremendous car space. The house itself- VERY nicely furnished with decor, comfortable furniture, HUGE (did I say HUGE) living room smart TV), everything you need in the kitchen to make meals for a large family in all week. The backyard/grass with grill and tiki hut was a hit with my crew of young kids. There is an elevator! If you have ever lugged endless bags and suitcases up flights of stairs in 90 degree heat/humidity in Carolina summers- you know that this is a huge! Simon and Jodi where fantastic host and very accessible if needed. Look no further- really.

The house was amazing! We enjoyed the spacious master 3rd floor suite and the day bed was perfect for when you needed an extra bed for the kids! Great access to the pool and ocean. We loved the mostly unobstructed ocean views from the spacious family room. We enjoyed the streaming services and my boys loved the extra large big screen TVs when they played video games. The kitchen was great, equipped with everything we needed for our food prep, I loved that coffee filters and dishwasher pods were stocked, as well as laundry detergent. The washer & dryer worked well and the elevator was a great help for loading and unloading suitcases and groceries. We will definitely look for the house again for our 2022 beach trip!

This was our 13th year visiting Topsail. We usually stay in a condo, but decided to go with a house this year, since both of our teens were bringing a friend... and we all loved it. We had a wonderful week, despite all the rain. We're so thankful to Jodi & Simon for opening up their home to share with others. The house is beautiful and had every convenience we could’ve needed or wanted for. We enjoyed being able to use the grill for some dinners in and our teen son really enjoyed the “fancy” toaster! 😄 Upon arrival, the home was found to be very clean and orderly. It was very nice that the linens were provided with the rental, so that we didn't have to haul those on the long drive with us. On the couple of rainy evenings, the kids made use of the many puzzles and games available and loved watching movies on the HUGE tv in the great room. On the nicer nights, we set up our badminton net in the beautiful backyard and enjoyed family time and meals out there. The only issues we experienced (& they're very minor), was the very, very low water pressure and the street noise. It was very difficult to wash soap off and get shampoo / conditioner out of hair due to the lack of water pressure. Not a big deal though...the water pressure in the outdoor shower was great, so when we were done at the beach / pool for the day, we just showered in our suits out there! :) As for the street noise...we typically stay on the North end of the island and directly on the beach, so it's very quiet. This home is pretty much right in the middle of the island and is across the street from the beach, near restaurants, bars and shops, so some level of noise is to be expected. We found it was very difficult to sit out on the balconies and enjoy each other's company and listen to the ocean waves, with the constant traffic noise and loud mufflers from almost every pick up truck that went by. We made the best of it though and again, not a huge deal. These minor things certainly wouldn't keep me from booking this property again. Overall - beautiful, clean, comfortable and well-accommodated home...fantastic owners who are wonderful to work and communicate with - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We hope to be able to book with Jodi & Simon again for future trips!
