The place near the ocean is unique, it is quite secluded and the atmosphere of the house is authentic ‘beachy’. Everything you need during your stay is available and otherwise Ellen is there to help.

Ellen is wonderful - she's so communicative and gives excellent recommendations! The house was perfect for a group and it was wonderful to be right on the ocean. The outdoor seating was a huge perk, and we really appreciated having the well-stocked kitchen. We'll definitely be back!

This is an exceptional vacation home with many little touches beyond a standard vacation rental. Ellen went above and beyond when it comes to cultivating the perfect selection of items; including a fully functional kitchen, some free weights, and an incredible selection of beach gear. The beachfront property has carefully curated outdoor areas that overlook the dynamic sea. The outdoor shower was a favorite of everyone in our party! Not only did we receive helpful tips in advance, Ellen checked in with us during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. We can't recommend this vacation home highly enough! If you are looking for a great place to stay in Kapa'a, look no further. The ocean is steps away, the town of Kapa'a is easily walked to, and the little details in the home will make you feel like you're vacationing in luxury.

We couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect place to spend our family vacation. Honestly, there was nothing that wasn't great about this stay. It is a beautiful home in Hawaii, which means there are things that are subject to rust and breaking down naturally in the environment. Ellen is on top of keeping the house very well-maintained, but if you have never been to Hawaii, or are unfamiliar with how the climate affects a home, you may notice some little things. It's natural.

The outdoor shower was great and the lanai was a pleasant place to gather. Ellen, the host, was very welcoming and accommodating. She left a nice welcome packet with coffee and sweets. The place seemed to be recently painted and very clean. There was plenty of beach accessories like chairs, snorkel gear, towels, inflatable tubes, boogie boards, beach bags and an umbrella. We enjoyed searing some ahi on the gas grill that was provided. The nearby beach had a break wall about 75 feet from the sand which made it very relaxing to get in the ocean without having to battle waves. It was a short walk to town for shopping and dining. There is a long paved path right outside the house that is great for walkers, runners and bikers. The street between the house and ocean had very little traffic.

No air conditioning. Even with all the windows open, trade winds and fans blowing, nights were difficult to sleep. The place was very dated with old cabinets and showers. The shower in the master bath was a small corner shower. The only light switch in the master bath was in the toilet stall. There was a view of the ocean out the master bedroom windows but the large living room and dining area had no view at all of the ocean. The yard was marginal. The fourth bedroom was really just a bed in a hallway.
