I loved the location of this property. It was very private with views of the water and gorgeous surrounding bush lands. We found getting around the island from this location incredibly easy and Kingscote town centre is just 7 minutes drive from here. The kangaroos and bird life that visited each day were amazing. We had dinner on the deck each night surrounded by kangaroos. The property itself is stylish, extremely comfortable and architecturally stunning. It was such a relaxing haven and we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

As it is open plan with high ceilings and very few doors it was very loud due to our two noisy children - we couldn’t escape from them 😄 That is our problem though and no fault of the property!

Excellent house, we loved it! Super clean and spacious, with everything we needed. Good quality linens and beds, well equipped. The location is amazing and we loved the tranquility.

Perfect location to explore the island, close to Kingscote for supplies and meals yet picturesque and peaceful. Beautiful beaches and all the main tourist attractions that we wanted to see were not too far away.

The only thing that would have made our stay slightly more comfortable as we were with our three children was doors closing off their sleeping space to ours, to allow for a longer sleep in. I do however understand that this is the style of the loft house and if children were older or you were by yourself this of course would not have been a problem. Apart from this minor issue the accommodation was wonderful! plenty of space for our family of five, all the amenities and facilities that we needed for a five night stay.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet. The photos are a little deceiving, I thought that the property would be in the middle of nowhere, however it was relatively close to town. The wildlife was ok, we only saw the kangaroos hopping by from a far, but we did get to see an echidna.

On face value this is a great little property, however it could be so much better. On first impressions it was clean, but look a little deeper there was a lot of dust and dirt in the corners. There were was only basic amenities such as soap and dishwashing liquid provided, no shampoo or body wash, which wasn’t a problem to us per se, however there was no milk… even a uht capsule would have been welcome! Our biggest complaint was with the bed, it was so uncomfortable, especially for a two night stay. It is the kind of bed that should never have been made, not even for the occasional sleep, let alone the only option in the property. Also we stayed while it was warm and the property does not have any air conditioning, which would have been ok, if only there was the option of ceiling fans. The property is in need of such, or even an electric fan would have been ok. We tried to have the windows open, but the blinds did not have stoppers, so they banged loudly, it really was a case of being stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Great location, easy to find and the holiday home was equipped with the basics. Main bed was comfortable and sofa bed was as expected. Very serene and peaceful location, great for relaxation. Had morning kangaroo visitors too!

Fireplace wasn’t cleaned out from the previous guest and would’ve liked 1-2 extra towels. However these were only minor and didn’t impact on our stay at all.

The location and accommodation itself was beautiful. The wood fire was great, the couches were comfortable, and there were adequate spaces to relax. The bathroom was modern.

Unfortunately there were far more things not to like than to like in this property, the most pressing issue being the millipede problem. We are very understanding that there are bugs in rural areas, especially near the beach or in the bush, however there had been no effort to stop the bugs entering the property. We stayed in alternate accommodation after this place, and there were a few bugs but nothing like this. There are many things that can be done to cover the small gaps between the doors and floors that require little effort and this is something that we would highly recommend for the owners to consider immediately. On a daily basis there would have been at least 75 millipedes inside in the floor downstairs, under the oven, throughout all living areas, throughout the bathroom, and even in the shower. It is hard to enjoy the wonderfully renovated bathroom when you have to remove a dozen millipedes from the shower floor before getting into it. As soon as you swept them all outside, it would take 20 minutes and the same number of them would be back. Whilst some general cleaning had been done, the top floor was not dusted/vacuumed and it seemed that this had been the case for quite a while. We were unhappy to see dust bunnies and dead petrified flies on the floor next to the master bed, as well as on window seals upstairs and downstairs. Security wise, two of the window locks were broken and we were unable to therefore lock them. They could be closed, but not locked. This was an issue that was exacerbated by the fact that it was a public holiday. While we were very understanding of this, especially as a handyman did come out to look at the property and try to repair the issue, when he couldn't, no remedy was offered to aside from saying 'you can seek alternative accommodation', followed by 'I should confirm in the future with our bookings that the windows are lockable before booking accommodation.' The master bed was uncomfortable.
