Our family got together and enjoyed LIFE! What a great location. The home was clean and lots of space. The weather was amazing. Short visit, but definitely a recommendation.

This is exactly how it’s listed. Clean, spacious and assessable. In the middle of Edisto on the beach. Wedding party stayed here! Fabulous!

We really enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of parking. The suite downstairs was a great retreat for my dad. The layout of the home was fantastic. The rooms had large, comfortable beds. The kitchen was huge and beautiful. The kitchen does need a colander. The AC worked beautifully.
The only drawback wasn’t a fault on the home but the location. With Windham being in front of this property, the parking lot was always packed. People often parked their golf carts everywhere, including the entrance to the beach path. The beach was the most packed I’ve ever seen it and I’ve been coming here for 40 years.

6 adults and 1 child - not a lot of seating, but huge island. Rooms private from each other and nice sized. Wonderful to have elevator to haul everything up and down with. Perfect location! Could hear the waves crash from my bedroom. Biggest problem was the front and rear storm doors. The front storm door only stayed shut when it was locked and even then the dog could sneak out. Had to buy child's gates for both areas to keep child and dog contained safely. The ocean facing screened in porch is great except there are no screens on most of the windows. We were invaded by a few flies. There seems to have been some damage to the rear exterior wall as well because those old windows did not open or close without a fight, and the room got hot unless the windows were opened. The ceiling fans on the porch also needed the blades changed to exterior rated ones as they were droopy and dirty looking. The house interior was very, very clean. We wouldn't touch the gas grill or the outside shower area, however - a lot of junky stuff left behind that needs to be thrown out. 2nd biggest problem - we didn't want to go home!

first the misses. A few water bugs, (3 to he exact) back doors that were fussy and didnt shut properly, no dish washer soap, no laundry soap, no coffee filters. Space is beautiful tho, and we very much enjoyed spending my dad's 80th birthday in this house. Would book again! Another annoying thing is we requested late checkout, wanted to wait til noon since our outbound flight was at 2pm and were flatly denied. But all in all we liked the experience.

The house was perfect for hosting 12 people. The location is perfect for beach access and sitting on the porch listening to the ocean. The sunrise and sets were beautiful. The neighborhood is quiet and perfect for a family get together. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to come back again.

This was our first time staying at Barefoot Bungalow, this house was THE BEST beach house we’ve ever stayed at in Edisto. Very clean, updated, perfect location to the beach. There were 13 of us that stayed, plenty of room plus more! The only thing we would change is making the bathroom that has the closet in it bigger. We’d suggest taking the closet out and putting in a regular sized shower in it. The shower in there is the size of one in a camper, very tight. Other than that the house and stay was awesome! Thank you for having our family and friends there. I’d also like to mention, my boyfriend proposed to me directly in front of the house on the beach with our family and friends there to witness ❤️ Memories that will last FOREVER!

Great open space for dinners and game nights. We loved the deck and downstairs for extra space. Listening to the ocean waves from the back deck is the perfect way to wake up in the mornings.

This house is in a great location, with easy beach access and amazing views. It easily accommodated our family of six adults and five young’uns, plus two dogs. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, the ac was excellent, and the main house bedrooms are very comfortable. The downstairs apartment is not as welcoming, and it is inconvenient not to have a shower available — you need to use one upstairs. The house is a lovely space that needs some maintenance, especially replacing rotting wood on the decks. It is safe. My only real criticism is with Vacasa, the agency we rented through, not the property owners. This is listed as a dog friendly home, but a sign on the fridge requests that pets not be allowed on the furniture or bedding. We did our best, but it didn’t seem very friendly to our dog. We’ve stayed at houses of other agencies and not encountered this request. Overall, we had a great family vacation, even the dogs.

It is listed as ocean front but it is actually just ocean close. Because of the Windham resort cabana, you must exit the property and access the beach via the public beach access. Advertisement was a little misleading. The inside of the house was very nice and it held our family just fine. The ouisde of the house was in need of some repairs and was not very clean. In particular the outside showers which we find essential at the beach to keep sand out of the house while operable they were not usable because dirt and sand that was in the showers. We just resorted to using the water hoses to wash off the best we could. I would probably stay there again as long as the number of people was the same as we had this time (we had11 people). While it is advertised as sleeping more I do not believe it would be comfortable for more than 11. Overall a good vacation.

The house was a great house in a good location. We enjoyed being with all of our kids and grandkids however.........there were some issues that we had to deal with.
1)The elevator that we counted on was not working.
2)The 5th bedroom and 1/2 bath is on garage level with no entry from the house.
3) We found a black widow spider in outside shower and multiple spiders in clothing in downstairs bedroom.
4)A light was out in downstairs 1/2 bath.
5)Loose step treads on front entry stairway were a hazard
6)Rotten and loose decking boards on back sun deck caused pinched feet and splinters.
7)Structural issues with back sun deck----loose and shaky handrail.
SIDE NOTE.....The back sun deck structure will not pass code inspection.

Super location! Just a few steps to the beach. Great parking at the house. Comfy beds and bedrooms. Loved the floors with no carpet anywhere. Sunroom was perfect for eating or relaxing with a view of the ocean. Kitchen was spacious with everything we needed.

Great Layout
The inside of the house is very nice and spacious. We had six adults and five kids and the layout offered a nice space for everyone. We appreciated the plentiful towels, hand soaps, dish soaps, etc. The outside could use some sprucing up but didn’t cause us concern. Vacasa on Edisto was super easy to find and check in was a breeze! We all liked this house a lot!!

House was beautiful
I liked the house and how well it was stocked. What I didn't like was the much higher daily rate than I expected. This was due to practice that I was unaccustomed to. We also had an elevator problem as well as a collapsed bed. (All occupants were 58- 87.) Both problems were handled to some decree.

Just a few things folks need to know that I wasn’t aware of when booking… the 5th bedroom is downstairs away from all the other bedrooms. It has its own entrance and you can’t get to it from the main house. There is also a little kitchenette in the 5th bedroom(small table with two chairs and a frig and microwave)… I personally think this is wasted space where another bed could be put. It only has a half bath.
The hall bathroom in the main house has a very small shower so if you’re a big person, you’ll have a hard time moving around in it. The living space also isn’t as large as the pictures lead you to believe but the layout of rhe house is very nice. The massive porch facing the ocean is wonderful! Overall we were very happy with this beach house and we will definitely be using it again!
