The home is beautiful on a great piece of property. Lots of amenities and well stocked kitchen and games galore. Fun for multiple families.

This house was amazing for my husband and I to meet up with our adult children and their partners. We hung out on the water during the day kayaking, boating, water skiing, knee boarding, body boarding and just floating around in the water or hanging out in the dock. At night we played outdoor and indoor games or hung out in the game room. We were disappointed that the elephant flea market down the road was closed that weekend due to rain but it didn’t stop us from having fun at the house. Stores were within minutes for anything we needed as well as places to eat. Since it is close enough to us we are looking to go back.

Stayed just one night at this very nice home. Everything was very clean and neat. They owners even left a bottle of wine for us!

The house was perfect for our family - with 5 kids ranging from 6-12 they were entertained all weekend between the lake and the basement activities. The house was clean and the beds were very comfortable. John and Elizabeth were great to work with!

This house is large and can accommodate groups of all sizes. It is super dog-friendly which is great when traveling with pets. The house is equipped with everything you need, including two kayaks which we really enjoyed. The house is located across the street from the lake but the private dock was awesome for jumping into the lake and enjoying a glass of wine at sunset.

We were excited about this home based on the pictures and found it to be even better in person. Every room was fresh and clean, the house was well stocked with everything we needed, and the lakefront property and cabana kept us occupied all day. Conveniently located with grocery stores and shops nearby. The house is spacious enough to hold a large group very comfortably. I highly recommend this property and would stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the this beautiful property. The outdoor space was very well maintained and allowed us to be outside, playing games even though the temperature never hit 60! The sun exposure was perfect. We imagine the summer and fall allows for using all the waterfront toys. We were able to go for a lovely walk to the state park and see that there are many hikes found locally. . We loved having an evening of games with pool, ping pong, Pac-Man and wii! It was the perfect space to have our Easter family gathering. Thank you for providing such a wonderful space for us to create such memorable family time!

We had a wonderful time at the house with our friends. The house is very clean and both the master bedroom mattress on the first floor and the second floor are super comfortable . We didn’t use the other rooms. It has a great view of the lake.

This is a lovely house for a group gathering - it is definitely a house made for short term rental - I doubt anyone has actually lived there long-term. But that is OK, because we were only there for a long weekend. The kitchen and living room are connected, and there is a separate game room space in the basement with ping pong, pool, and a Pacman machine. The dining room was spacious and could easily seat our party of 7 (could seat 8 comfortably and probably up to 10 if you were squeezing). It was a fun place to get together with family over Christmas, and the two dogs in our group also enjoyed it. It was VERY cold outside during our weekend there (think 5-15 degrees F), and the heating in the house seemed very asymmetric. For example, the master suite on the first floor was REALLY warm while the queen bedroom upstairs was REALLY cold despite having both thermostats set to 68F. I know that central heat is only meant to keep indoors like 30-40 degrees warmer than the outside... but just be aware if you're visiting in the colder months. The house is also on the newer side, and I don't think it is particularly well insulated in general. There is a cool pellet stove in the living room that kept that room a very nice temperature during the day, which was a cool feature of the house - we kept that lit when we were all in the living room during the day. The owners also keep a supply of nice big blankets in the laundry room, which we definitely took advantage of! Because it was so cold, we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor spaces of the house or the lake cabana... but we checked them out and they certainly looked like they would be a great plus in the warmer months. The owners leave a nice basket of snacks for you when you arrive, which was much appreciated and a very thoughtful touch during the holidays. My only real objection is that the lockbox didn't start working with the provided code until about 10 minutes after our agreed upon check-in time, and it was very cold outside so that was unfortunate! Otherwise, it was a very smooth experience and we would stay there again.

My family and I stayed at this property for our thanksgiving holiday. We had such a wonderful time!! The house is beautiful and open, and the owners have though of everything- even the little toiletries in the bathrooms. The views are stunning. I hope we can come back to swim someday! Would highly recommend this property to anyone!!

We had a really great experience! There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep and great kitchen and dining room for everyone to spend time together. Not to mention the lake is beautiful! It was really wonderful place to stay and the hosts were lovely!

We rented this house for the weekend of our son's wedding. The house is amazing and perfect for what we needed. The bride and her bridal party used the house to get ready for the big day which worked out perfectly. The house is about a mile or 2 from the Candlewood Inn Wedding Venue.

We were in town for a family wedding and this property was the perfect spot to regroup, reconnect and relax between activities. Everyone had a comfortable space to call their own, each room was cozy, clean and stocked with towels, hand soap, starter shampoo and body soap. The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped to cook meals. The kids loved the basement TV/game room (and the parents loved that they loved it!) The view, the lake access and the outdoor patio were bonus areas to relax with a cup of tea and visit with family. Everyone was very comfortable and wanted to come back in the summer to make use of the lake! Hopefully, we'll be back. This place was a gem. Thanks for having us!

Spacious, clean and very well appointed home with plenty of room for an extended family reunion. Very simple check in and checkout, and the owners were very gracious. Quick walk down to the lake with a lakeside cabana and private dock. Will definitely be back!

Our extended family lucked out in the weather! The hot and sunny days meant we spent a lot of time by the dock on the lake. The kids (ages 4 to 12) caught many small fish right off the dock and spent many happy hours on the floating mat. The adults enjoyed the lounging in the shade and the cabana was nice for storing our things. The location of the house on a quiet cove was ideal. It was also only a short drive to the marina and restaurant. House was clean with comfortable beds. A very enjoyable few days for all my family!

Our experience at this property on Candlewood Lake was wonderful! The house contains everything you need, it is beautifully decorated with quality linens. During the day, we were swimming and fishing; the lake is gorgeous. At night, everyone enjoyed playing pool, pingpong and video games. Honestly, one regret is that we stayed for only one week. A minor critique is to have additional recycling containers, since garbage is picked up once a week.

When you stay at this house it feels more like you are visiting someone’s home rather than simply a rental property. The house is well equipped and the beds are super comfy. John and Elizabeth are wonderful hosts and you can tell they take pride in their home and want you to have a great stay.

We loved this house! Everything was exactly as described and our family enjoyed our time here. Having the dock across the street for our boat was so great! Elizabeth & John were quick to respond to any questions we had before checking in and provided a wonderful spot for our family vacation. We hope to be back again!

We had a great time at this property. Plenty of space and activities for the kids, great air conditioning and hot water heater, amazing laundry room, beautiful lake with paddle boat. One area of concern for us was how bright every room was early in the morning with no curtains or room darkening ability. We also had to get creative with the sleeping arrangements as well since 2 of the beds are futons and one was on the floor without a base. Overall, we had a great stay.

The home was great for our large family. Great house and waterfront.. all better than advertised. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend the house!!

This property could not have been more perfect to accommodate family and a few friends. The house met all expectations and beyond. It felt like a vacation from a movie. Elizabeth and John responded right away to any questions we had, which were very few because the experience was organized so thoroughly. Looking forward to staying at this property in the future! Would highly recommend to groups of any dynamic, as there is truly something for everybody to enjoy between nature, the community, and also the spaces and the way they are laid out in the house! A safe space was provided for our dog while we enjoyed the patio by the house in between swimming off the private dock in the lake! We also had a great time at the flea market down the road, “The Elephant Trunk,” on Sunday!

The house is tastefully decorated and has everything, and I mean everything you can think of. We had a family get together to celebrate my wife’s birthday and we had a great time. The grandkids spent a lot of time downstairs in the basement where they played ping pong and video games. The adults gathered upstairs to socialize and play board games. We could not take advantage of the outdoors because of the weather but it seems that there is plenty to do outdoors as well given that they have direct access to the lake. Overall I highly recommend it.
