This is our second stay at Mallard Cove. The house is spacious enough for our group of 4 couples. We enjoy the lake and surrounding areas to visit. The very large deck above the boat house is a great gathering place. We also enjoy the use of the paddle boards that are provided. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time at Mallard Cove! We brought the entire family which included our 5 grandchildren. This house is located in a cove with no other houses which was perfect for our grandchildren. Easy entry into the water a private setting where we spent much of our time. Having the boat was a plus also. The house was clean and had plenty of space. We enjoyed the covered porch that overlooked the lake. Sue and Steve at Buffalo Junction were great! They responded immediately if we had any questions. We will be renting here again!

The house is very spacious and has everything you need. Super private with excellent lake access (your own cove so the kids can swim and use the SUPs/Kayaks without fear of boats!). This is the fourth different house we've stayed in at the lake and it is our favorite. Highly recommend!

WOW!! This home has it all! Very well maintained and well equipped. Kitchen had everything you could need and the outdoor space was more than we expected. Communication was excellent. Will be staying here for years to come!!

This home did not disappoint. We wanted for nothing and that included both the kids and adults in our group. We especially found the stand up paddle boards, kayaks and boats a memorable addition and resulted in us not leaving the house, by car, once during our 4 night stay!! We left Lake Lure and this home feeling like we found a new special place to come back to again and again! We just hope that Mallard Cove is available the next time we come back!

I would 100% recommend this property to anyone considering a trip to Lake Lure. The check in process was easy and the property manager was so responsive and helped us to be prepared. The home itself is stunning and I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting. I would come back in a heartbeat and honestly had the best stay!!

The house is beautiful. The boat was a perfect addition to this trip. We are boat people so we used it bunches. We was able to get a taxi's to Asheville to do a brewery trip along with eating at Lobster Trap oh it’s a must place to hit. chimney Rock is a lovely little hidden germ. Lots of cool little places. The brewery this is a great stop.t The only downside was the very short notice that the natural hot tub pool was broken. That was the only thing I can say. They made it right by doing a small refund. We definitely missed it after our hike we took. We will continue to come back to this area.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful property over New Years. We were provided with everything we needed to cook, and feel comfortable. The fireplaces, indoor and outside, and the Hot Tub further enhanced our stay and enjoyment. The management team was very responsive and helpful when needed. If the opportunity presents itself, we will do it again!

We were part of four couples that rented a house in Mallard Cove on Lake Lure for a week. House was amazing with great features and lots of room. Also had a huge area for parking. The location can't be beat. We made use of the kayaks, paddle boards, and pontoon boat. Enjoyed every day. Buffalo Junctions was very easy to work with and help make sure our vacation went off without a hitch.

This house was amazing! Very clean and the location was great! It was very close to Ingles...which made it very convenient. I was there with a group of ladies and we had the best time. The house had everything we needed and more. The boat deck and large porch area seemed to be where we spent most of our time. The beautiful outside stone fireplace was very nice. The agents, Steve and Sue Gage, were super nice and very helpful. They were always available to answer any questions we had. I would most definitely rent again. Trust me when I say...you won't be disappointed in renting this one.

Mallard Cove exceeded or expectations. The home was in a private cove, conveniently located to Ingles and multiple lakeside dining options. Boathouse, dock and fire pit were a hit! —Kids enjoyed the paddle boards and kayaks. The house was stocked with everything we needed to feel like home. The pontoon boat was spacious and clean. We will definitely be back next year!

Mallard Cove was a wonderful home!! The view,the covered porch,and lake front area was fantastic! The kitchen was well stocked with pots,pans dishes etc. . The bathrooms were stocked with lots of towels. The home was very comfortable and extremely clean. We really enjoyed having the boat . What a great amenity!! Our family stayed for a week at Mallard Cove. It was probably the nicest home that we have ever stayed in on Lake Lure. All of the beautiful pictures on the website could not begin to depict the beauty and detail in this great house. The house was well appropriated with all needs being met and many fine details to make the stay wonderful. Also, I have to give a shout out to Buffalo Junction Properties and Sue Gage. We had a few minor issues that were addressed immediately and efficiently by the property managers. They were helpful and easy to get a hold of. I would recommend the house at Mallard Cove and Buffalo Junction Properties with 7 stars if there was such a qualification.

Even though we went the weekend of Hurricane Ian, we generally escaped the wind and rain that came with that and had a good time.The house was clean, very well equipped and we enjoyed the use of the hot tub and pool table.It is close to the supermarket, several restaurants and all the Lake Lure attractions.Back to Hurricane Ian. The town lowered the lake 3 feet in anticipation of a lot of rain that didn't come. As a result, we couldn't use the pontoon boat which was a big disappointment. However, the agents gave us a rebate which they didn't have to do, which was good karma for them.We will be back.

The property was absolutely, amazingly beautiful! Everything we needed was right there!! The only time we left the house was to go get groceries, or to go on a little boat ride! By far one of the nicest places we have stayed!! The owners were super nice, and easy to communicate with! Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a private, quite getaway!! Definitely will come back to this location!

We chose this house for our yearly get away. It was perfect for our needs. Very clean and well appointed. Use of the pontoon boat, kayaks and paddle boards was one of the reasons that we chose this property. Lake Lure is beautiful and the house is located on a quiet cove with an amazing view. We would definitely stay here again.

This place was perfect. The location is ideal private and secluded. Having access to kayaks, sup, and the pontoon boat was spectacular! The home was very clean, kitchen well stocked with pots, pans, plates, glasses, utensils, etc…….. Hope to return slime day soon.

This property had EVERYTHING we could have possibly wanted. We had a hard time leaving to even go exploring the beautiful surroundings. The kitchen is so well stocked with anything dish, cookware, and appliance you could think of! The house was so spacious that you could be by yourself or with the group and feel so comfortable. The teenagers want to go back next year!!! (So do the adults) the property managers were so friendly and helpful. We got email updates leading up to our stay that evening included recommendations of things to do in the area!

Great place for small family gathering in Lake Lure
Mallard Cove was absolutely wonderful! My two children and their spouses, my husband and I couldn’t have found a better place. The house has plenty of spaces fir everyone to gather or sit back and relax. We really enjoyed the hot tub, pontoon boat and sitting in the deck.
