Other than having no air conditioning and not being told the gate codes all change on Saturday at 10am, our stay was fine. It was quiet and comfortable furnishings

From laundry pods to wash your favorite outfit to a full kitchen to bake homemade cookies. This condo is spacious with plenty of towels, blankets and a peaceful atmosphere. Lots of room to sit, sleep and eat, a jet tub to relax you feet. A balcony to get fresh air or enjoy the sound of the ocean waves.

This is a nice, BIG home. We had a family Thanksgiving vacation. Kitchen was well stocked. I cooked a complete Turkey Day meal and didn't want for any pan or casserole. And they were nice, not cheapo stuff. Beds were comfy. You can see a little of the ocean but it's mostly hidden by the dunes. Walk a half block and there it all is! There's a market across the street for anything you forget. Only have two complaints. First the floors could use attention. Carpet needs to be vaccuumed under and around a few times a year. I tried doing yoga and looking under the bed/dresser wasn't pleasant. And we had to wear shoes as the floors weren't clean either. The rest of the place was almost spotless, just the floors. The other complaint is Vacasa's check in. We've stayed at lots of vacation rentals and never had to check in before 5 or call before 5 to pick up a packet at a different location. We flew all day and our flight was late so by the time we got to Sandbridge it was late. I hadn't even thought to check what we needed to do to get in. Called and got a really nice customer service rep who worked hard and long to get me to the maintenance man (York--very nice guy) who got us to the lockbox to pick up our packet. The lockbox had a code which hadn't been sent to me, either but York knew it. The codes in our packet for the outside gate and elevator didn't work so we called York back to help us get in. There should be a lockbox at the location of the rental (not 5 miles away) and the code for the lockbox should be texted or emailed on the day of arrival. Then there was this complicated sheet about how to set up our own code to enter the home. Why? Is that some sort of protection? We could just set up lots of codes if we wanted to break back in after our stay so not sure what that was about. Vacasa needs to change the code regardless so why all that? This process needs to be simpler and with a backup phone number to text or call if there are any problems. We were about to be some very ticked off, tired people had it not been for the nice rep and York. Also, we had to ask for the card to get into the gym which a nice rep delivered to our door 20 minutes later, but why? Can't that be included in the packet or inside the home? We never did find the gym. It wasn't on the map we were given. We asked a guy in the parking lot if he knew where it was and he said he couldn't find it either. For a business that does vacation rentals, I expected much better.

This was a beautiful location and a very comfortable place to stay. The rooms are very generous. My wife enjoyed the jetted tub (though there could have been more hot water :)). We went in October, so it wasn't really swimming weather, but the beach was very close and still a nice place to see and hear the waves. Overall, a very nice place to visit.

The property was directly across the street from beach access, a market and restaurant. The condo itself is in fantastic condition and is the cleanest beach rental I've stayed at. My only complaint is that I could not find the gym that is advertised in the listing, nor did I receive a "swipe card" that is supposed to be used to access it.

The location of this property and the very convenient parking space next to the elevator helped to make up for the downsides. The cleanliness left something to be desired but it was very well stocked. I had expected to see the beach - but the view was mostly obscured by the sand dunes. We had a lot of difficulty checking in as we arrived on a Sunday. As well we were not aware we would need codes to get into the building - and it changed while we were there. Your communication left a lot to be desired. Still, due to the wonderful location, we may return next year. We just hope for better communication,

Nice condo, large balcony with ocean views! Master BR suite was enormous! Kitchen well stocked with cookware, made eating in easy. This was our first ever stay in Sandbridge - we will be back!

This is our second time staying at the Dunes and we love it! Can’t beat the location and our kids love that there are so many other families on-site because there are always other kids to play with. The Salty Mermaid was great! Very clean and well-stocked, comfortable furniture/mattresses, and a great view! One thing worth mentioning - this particular unit does not come stocked with beach supplies (cart, chairs, toys, etc.) so you’ll have to bring your own. We did find a key to a storage unit on the last day, but didn’t check to see if there was a matching closet. We ended up dragging the beach cart upstairs every day, which was fine, if a bit sandy. Overall a great stay, though it would be a major upgrade to include a beach cart and chairs with the unit.

Nicely furnished and we'll equipped describes the Salty Mermaid. Very comfortable with easy access to parking and a short walk to the beach. Enjoyed our stay in Stanbridge...hoping to return.

Salty Mermaid was the perfect space for us to spend our first vacation after Covid with our adult children and two small grandchildren. The space was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of the sand dunes and Virginia sunrises. The Sandbridge area offers the perfect family environment with close proximity to all that Virginia Beach area has to offer.

Condo was a lot bigger than we expected. Well equipped. Super close to the beach. We really loved the fact how quaint the area and beach was. Not crowded or full of tourists. Excellent place to enjoy the beach and truly relax.

Loved our stay at this unit. It's exactly as described with a view of the beach and ocean across the street. Sipping coffee while watching the sun rise from the balcony is the perfect start to the day. This is a much more remote area than the touristy part of VB so the sound of the wave was the only thing we heard at night - another big plus. The unit was comfortable and clean but be prepared to bring every ingredient needed if you're going to cook. There's a market right across the street but the hours may not be convenient if you've forgotten something. My only issue was with communication. This property is managed by Vacasa and, when I found that I didn't have access to the advertised fitness center, I mistakenly called the National help center. They were nice but gave totally incorrect information. I eventually called the local office and they were FANTASTIC, sending someone to deliver a key right away. Given the view, the comfort and superb service by the local Vacasa folks, I'll be booking this unit again.

This was our family’s first trip to VA beach and won’t be our last! This condo had everything we needed for our family and the views were great. We hope to be back soon!

This condo is absolutely perfect for any type of vacation! I have stayed here in the winter, the spring, and the summer. It was amazing each time. This condo is fully stocked with everything you could ever need. The decor is perfect for adults or families with young children. The view and proximity to the beach can not be beat!

Very well-appointed cottage (everything we needed to sleep and prepare food) and LINENS - So Happy about Linens being included (since when is this a thing to make people coming on vacation bring sheets and towels ?? ug). We have fully-made beds with a towel set for each of us. And a new dish soap, hand soap, dishwashing detergent, sponge and 2 towels for kitchen - yay). and the VIEW was a happy surprise (you always worry about advertising lies. NOPE - it was lovely and the sound of the beach and the access to the beach and the great restaurant (ate there all three nights). Couldn't have asekd for more (except TP - only 2 rolls for 2 bathrooms for 3 days -- eesh. Other than that, the dryer didn't dry clothes - at all. Just didn't dry them. We finally broke the rules and hung PJ's on the porch and towels over the chairs outside. We LOVED the people at the check in -they were SUPER helpful and we had to call them a couple times to figure out how to get in. SO helpful.

Amazing experience all around. Wonderful place to stay! Bigger than the pictures let on. Great ocean view. Location is perfect right off a great beach with nearby market, shops, and restaurants. We will definitely be coming back regularly.

Close to everything you need but away from the big city. Walk right to a nice clean beach with bathrooms. No view of the beach from the first or second level. Pool was great for the kids. Store and restaurants all within a 5 minute walk. Highly recommended staying here. Nice safe area.
