Everything was wonderful about this property! It is an easy drive to restaurants, shops and the grocery store. The home owners live on the top 2 floors and they are very nice and accommodating. We loved having a covered deck with a grill, as well as access to the dock and kayaks. We would definitely stay here again!

We had such a wonderful time enjoying the gracious hospitality of our host. We had limited time to stay and was accommodated. Had a yummy dessert brought to us to enjoy and Our pup Rusty loved his time at the lake riding in the kayak with dad. Left my new cell charger and Thankyou Myra for mailing it to me💕💕💕💕. We are definitely coming back for another visit 👍

We really enjoyed our stay in Lake Lure. The property was perfectly located. We loved being able to swim off the dock with our dog and having access to the owners’ kayaks.

Place was immaculate! Had all the utensils needed to cook so didn’t have to spend for dining. Loved being able to kayak around the lake!!

Mara & Frank were excellent hosts and we had a wonderful time! We had more than enough room to spread out with our two pups, and Mara gave us a great recommendation to try the new coffee & cocktail spot- Grey Hawk. It was outstanding. We will definitely be hoping to stay at Bill’s Bungalow again in the future!

Bills bungalow is exactly as described! It's a perfect retreat to nature with all of the luxuries of home plus the lake and all of the lake toys at your convenience!

We had a wonderful and relaxing visit at Bill’s Bungalow. We wish we could have stayed longer. The place had everything we needed including plenty of outdoor seating to sit and enjoy the lake. We also took advantage of the kayaks that were available. There were also plenty of restaurants and things to do nearby. We did meet Frank, who was very nice, and Harvey and Beau, but, unfortunately, we did not get to meet Mara. Maybe next time.

Bill’s Bungalow was a home away from home. Mara was very welcoming. The property was exactly as the pictures show and also very well stocked. My husband and I used the kayaks everyday. I sat on the dock and watched the sunrise most morning. The bungalow is on a quite cove. Already planning a return trip back to lake lure and Bill’s Bungalow. Perfect place for a peaceful getaway.

We enjoyed our stay. The place was perfect for the 2 of us. The place was very clean and the hosts were extremely nice. We took advantage of the lake used the kayaks. Spent a lot of time on the dock and in the lake. The description of the place is accurate. Great place to relax for a few days. Close to Chimney Rock.

Our 8 days at Lake Lure were great and much needed. It was a very peaceful environment. We spent many days canoeing and sitting on deck at night was wonderful!

Bill's Bungalow is a wonderful place to stay...very clean and it has an amazing view! Mara and Frank are great hosts and we had so much fun getting to know them! I will definitely go back!

The Bungalow is nicely appointed for 2 occupants. The view of Lake Lure and the dam is lovely. The owners are very cordial. We greatly enjoyed our stay and hope to return. But as the owners say, there are many steps.

Couldn't ask for a better stay on Lake Lure. Mara's unit was clean, she is very cordial & accommodating, & is very quick to text you back with any questions or concerns. Unit is supplied with everything needed: linens, dishes, pots/pans, hand soap, laundry detergent, and dish soap. Would definitely recommend!

Hoping this review helps others pick this place because I chose this place based on reading all the positive reviews about it. And they weren’t lying. My girlfriend and I stayed there for three of most wonderful days/nights of our lives. The bungalow has everything you want/need. The location on the lake couldn’t be any better for serenity and positive vibes. We were lake amateurs, however, we are now lake aficionados thanks to what Mara and Frank gave us. Which was a beautiful and amazing mini vacation/getaway. Don’t pass on this gem! Hope we can get back there in the future!!!

We had a delightful stay at Bill’s Bungalow. Mara was wonderful and was readily available to answer any questions. The property itself was lovely and had everything we needed. Beautifully situated on Lake Lure, we had access to their kayaks to explore. We appreciated the very close proximity to Ingles market for easy groceries. Excellent hiking and exploring in the Chimney Rock area which was only 15 minutes away. A perfect stay! I would not only highly recommend, I would love to return.

Great spot on the lake. Quiet and relaxing. Apartment was spotless∋cely decorated and had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting on the dock and taking the kayaks out. Unfortunately, we had lots of rain first two days, but lots of places to sit outside and relax under covered deck. Great restaurant right up the road too. We would definitely stay here again.

My daughter and I came to the lake for a couple of days and had a very relaxing and fun time. The bungalow is absolutely adorable and even though it rained a lot, there was a nice covered outdoor area where we hung out playing cards and reading. We did get a break in the rain for a short kayak and some lake swimming both of which were fantastic. Very clean and quiet. We met Mara and her pups when we first got there - all super friendly. This is great place to stay!

Bill's Bungalow was the perfect location for our first trip to celebrate retirement. The accomodations were great and the location is a quiet cove with little boat traffic. It's in the mountains so be prepared for twisty roads and lots of steps, but oh so worth it! Mara and Frank are perfect hosts. We highly recommend Bill's Bungalow.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Bill’s Bungalow!! Mara is a wonderful host and she gave us plenty of good tips of things to do during our stay. We really enjoyed the tour she gave us of the lake.
My daughter has already asked for us to schedule another visit. We hope to be back soon.

Lake Lure and Chimney Rock are beautiful and so was our experience staying here. Close to everything, if you want to go sightseeing. But its hard to beat the views from the kayaks that are included in the rental. Owners are super nice, but you will easily forget you are all staying in the same home. We will be back!

My husband and I had a very relaxing time. We did enjoy ourselves! The apartment is just the right size. However the pictures online are a little misleading. The boathouse on the lake with dockside chairs were nothing like in the pictures. The furniture on the dock/pier was not clean or organized at all. Also there are several stairs to climb to the bungalow/apartment. So if you have back or knee pain/issues you may need to look elsewhere. This was my fault but I was not aware the bungalow was attached to the owners main house. Other than the abundance of stairs and unorganized pier/deck, and attached main house we had a nice time.

My husband and I came to Lake Lure for a weekend getaway. Bill’s Bungalow was absolutely perfect. The bungalow itself is spacious and immaculately clean. We loved having access to use the kayaks. The location of the bungalow is central to everything - restaurants, hiking, vineyards, etc. Mara (host) was excellent at communication up to and through our stay. We would definitely stay here again!

Loved our visit! Mara and Frank were so helpful and accommodating, even parked elsewhere so we could have friends come visit! Beautiful spot and the accommodations were spacious and so quiet. Loved being able to use the canoe and kayaks to boat to the Lakehouse restaurant for beers!

We loved everything about Bills Bungalow!! The view was amazing. The sound of the water at the dam was super relaxing. The homeowners were wonderful with anything we needed. We enjoyed the Flowering Bridge & Chimney Rock. We had lunch at Ginny’s and dinner from Riverwatch. I recommend them both. Thank you for sharing your wonderful little slice of heaven with us!

My stay was in early February so it was very quiet and exactly the getaway I needed. The bungalow had everything I needed for a very comfortable stay. Mara was so welcoming and I could tell that she would be quick to help if I had had any problems. The area is beautiful in the winter, I’m looking forward to seeing it when it’s warm and bustling.
