Cabin is tucked away in the woods but not far from the store or restaurants, best of both worlds! Clean and was already stocked with firewood and all the other supplies we needed for our stay. Lisa was very helpful during the process and answered any questions we had along the way. Will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to the mountains!

Nice cabin, close to town…walking distance to park and restaurants. Owners were very accommodating, allowing us to check in early. Special touches (basket of snacks, fans in both bedrooms for white noise, cute plush bears on the kids beds) made our stay with kids even better!

We were looking to buy property in the Banner Elk area and wanted to stay centrally located. A Frame of Mind was perfect as we scoured the entire area by car and were able to walk downtown to Banner Elk. The cabin was spotless and comfy. Thank you for a great stay.

A Frame of Mind was the perfect location for our family's spring break. We travelled from Tampa with our family of 4 and our pup (we were so grateful and excited we could bring him). Lisa was so helpful before, providing information on check-in, the home and the town. Check-in itself was a breeze. The driveway, however, is not for the faint of heart, especially at night lol But once we got more comfortable with it, it wasn't a big deal and gave us a great daily workout after walks. Lisa left the sweetest welcome, including snacks which the kids loved. The house is so well-equipped, especially for families (baby gear, eating utensils, board games and puzzles, etc.). The house is super clean and had everything we needed. We loved the fireplace and spent lots of time snuggling in front of it and watching movies. The home is within walking distance of the greatest greenway which included a playground, room to run, a dog park, and a creek the kids loved playing in. We loved Still Waters, Banner Elk Tap Room, the arcade and the ice cream shop. We skied at Beech Mountain, visited Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Mast General Store, Sugar Creek Gem Mine, etc. We truly had the most wonderful vacation and it was thanks to Lisa and her beautiful home. We will definitely be back.

If there was ever a VRBO property that was deserving of a 5-star rating, this is it. Perfection.

Location is great. Peaceful and quiet. Minutes from town. Cabin itself is wonderful. The owner has thought of everything. We personally have never stayed at VRBO so well equipped. Owner checked on us a couple to ensure everything was perfecr for us. And she was always available to answer any questions. We'll be back.

Our family of 5 enjoyed this splendid A-Frame hill-top cabin located within a short drive or walk to the best stops in Banner Elk! The owners/hosts have done an outstanding job of providing all the necessities for wary travelers! Everything was clean, thoughtfully organized, and included a complimentary snack basket, coffee. and hot cocoa! Also, not having to contend with the hassle of washing towels/linens that were provided, allowed for more family vacation time and activities! Thank you so much Lisa!

Such a beautiful, clean house and a great stay! We went in January with our little dog and enjoyed the (real) fireplace and the comfy sitting areas. Beds were all comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. The garage was a super perk. Very quiet and private. Plan to revisit in the spring/summer to enjoy the expansive decks. Lisa is the best host - very responsive & caring. Highly recommend!

We’ve stayed at many different cabins in the Blue Ridge area for years, and A Frame of Mind was among the best! Incredibly clean and comfortable. So close to area points of interest. Communication with the owner was excellent and they thought of everything that could possibly make our stay enjoyable! Highly recommended

LOVED this cabin for our trip to Sugar Mountain. Perfect cozy getaway.

Our family of four and two Goldendoodles absolutely loved our stay. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed for relaxing by the fire, preparing meals, and even playing games. We loved being 3 minutes from Banner Elk and 10 minutes from Sugar Mountain. Lisa was a breeze to communicate with, check-in was easy, and having a garage to use was so awesome. It felt more like borrowing a good friend’s home than staying at a rental.

Great property. Very clean. Lots of nice amenities and touches. The owners thought of everything. Shower is hot. Beds are super comfy. Kitchen is well stocked. Wouldn't bring my elderly parents here with the steep driveway and all the steps up to the house, but perfect for us, kids, and pup. Loved having a wood-burning fireplace going in the winter. Perfect way to start the holiday break!

We really enjoyed staying at this beautiful cabin in Banner Elk. The location is perfect! Very private, yet minutes to downtown. The owners were very courteous, and left treats for us and our dog. The fireplace was absolutely amazing! There is plenty to do nearby, but we really just enjoyed relaxing at the cabin! We definitely hope to come back next year. Thanks again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was only a short walk, nearly all on a greenway, to downtown Banner Elk. The weather did not cooperate as well as we would have liked during out stay, but it allowed us to enjoy the great fireplace in the cabin.

From the cozy and clean accommodations (including excellent linens and soft towels) to the convenient location, A Frame of Mind was an amazing place to stay. Highly recommended!

A-frame of mind is exactly as advertised. Easy layout with comfortable furnishings. The home is set far enough away from neighbors for privacy and still close to town. We walked into town our first evening and enjoyed the stroll. In the mornings we were able to head right out and take our dog on a few mile run along the greenway and down towards the college. Often when traveling we have to drive to find a good area to run with the dog in the morning so this was a big plus for us. Host was easy to reach and thoughtful.

We plan an annual visit to this area, and this cabin has become part of our tradition - great place to stay for a small family and would highly recommend!

This was a beautiful, peaceful place for our family to stay as we all gathered in the area for a funeral. The property owner is wonderful...she was easy to contact and worked to resolve our needs timely.

Me and wife were tired of the summer heat. We chose to go 90 minutes north of our house to the cool, scenic mountain town of Banner Elk. We read and watched TV. Walked the greenway trail, ate at the BrewPub at the bottom of the hill (good pizza), and walked our doodle dogs. Our four nights were a recharge we needed. Lisa was a very good host. Thanks for the treat.

This cabin was the perfect place for a long weekend in the mountains! The decor is welcoming and cozy, the furniture was comfortable, and we had everything we needed to feel at home. Being pet friendly was a huge plus. It’s walking distance to downtown Banner Elk, but the up-hill return trip was a challenge, especially for those of us who live at sea level! But we managed the daily trek into town. Lisa was very accommodating and accessible. We’ll definitely be back!

What an adorable cabin with all of the little touches! It’s so close to town and you can walk to Kettle for a fresh brew beer and pizza. I would highly recommend this place.
