Coming back to the Almost for our second stay really felt like coming home. We love the cheerful decor and the friendly neighborhood. The house is very comfortable and well equipped for cooking, relaxing and keeping things tidy with a well stocked laundry room and cleaning supplies. Best of all- there are many places to access the beach and the ICW. This dog friendly home and community make Oak Island an ideal destination for our winter getaway.

This property was great for 2 adults and our pet. Room for more. loved the fenced backyard. Bed slept good. Updated and nice appliances. Would recommend.

Had so much fun collecting treasures on the beach. Our dogs loved the property and were well behaved. TV worked without difficulty. Host was great to quickly answer any questions. It was well equipped like home. No detail was overlooked. Oak Island is a great town with restaurants and anything you need . We will definitely be coming back. It was a great place to stay.

Me, My Wife & Son spent Christmas week here with our little Yorkie. We loved the home it was very comfortable and the location was great. The reviews on the property are 💯 correct. The owner has this Home setup with just about everything you need. Publix is only 2 blocks away, among various other stores also. Beach Access ♿ right behind Publix is nice. We loved it and hope to be back soon.

My husband and I stayed along with our son, daughter-n-law and our 1 yr old grandson. We also bought our 2 King Charles Cavaliers. The house was perfect size, our fur babies had a nice time. Everything was in close proximity. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Such a welcoming, well thought out home especially for people who love their dogs. Chris was always available and responsive to our questions. Great location — the beaches are a dream. The house was clean, comfortable, and well supplied with many thoughtful details including a jar of dog biscuits on the kitchen counter!

This property has to be one of the cleanest properties I have stayed in. We really enjoyed our time, the fenced yard, the privacy, the space to spread out a bit. What really sets this property apart is it is pet friendly and my furbabies were able to travel with us and enjoy the beach. We hope to book here agin next year when the pups can run free again!

We really enjoyed our stay, the home was great, our dogs loved the fenced backyard, it was a short /easy walk to the beach, the neighborhood was nice and quiet, close to the grocery store and restaurants, we loved the location! Our dogs also loved the beach, they had a great time running off leash!!
We definitely plan to come back.

The property was a perfect fit for my wife and I traveling with our two dogs. The fencing in the back yard is wooden and about five feet tall. The house is super well outfitting with everything you want and need. Location on the island is great for walking to groceries, restaurants, intra-coastal waterway and beach.

Great house in a neighborhood close to everything. Walk to the grocery store, restaurants and beach. Fenced in back yard for the pups.
Grill needs work - replace grates as you cannot even cook on them because they are so rusty.

My husband and I stayed here with our 2 dogs for 3 nights and it was wonderful, to say the least - wish we could have stayed longer! Check in was super easy and Mr. Boggs was wonderful to work with. The house was as comfy as being in my own home and the neighborhood was very quiet - no kidding, could have heard a pin drop at 11:30 p.m. when I took dogs out to potty! We will definitely be back.

"The Almost" way the perfect place to stay over the Labor day weekend.
You don't need to bring anything but your suitecase! There are beach chairs, fishing gear, coolers, and tents provided. We enjoyed biking with the bikes on the property as well. The house is very comfortable and the layout is great for families.
Another great thing is the street comes at a stop light which made it so much easier to turn left on Oak Island Dr.
Everything has been thought of with "The Almost". We will be back again!

Stayed here with wife and two medium sized dogs. Enough space for everyone and then some. Great having the back yard area and the neighborhood has a ton to offer in the immediate area. Check-in and communication all on point too. Glad we booked here and will strongly consider it in the future, thanks!

My wife and i had a great relaxing stay. The property was exactly as listed all you need is your tooth brush and some clothes, everything else is provided. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything even chip clips. There is a gas BBQ and a Charcoal grill. Plenty of beach equipment, bikes fishing equipment. I highly recommend this place we will be back for sure. Plus its a great property if you have pets the back yard is fenced that was great to open the back door in the morning and let them out.

Location was perfect. Also grateful I didn’t have to go up and down a bunch of steps everytime I wanted to let the dogs out! This was also helpful with a toddler. Didn’t have to worry about him falling down the steps. 100% would stay here again.

Driving up to the property, I expected a much greater distance from the road and a bit more tidiness. But my opinion pleasantly changed when we entered the property. Everything we needed was available and many we didn't expect to find!! Loved all the outdoor spaces available, too. We were very comfortable and had a great time. Hope we can come again. Dogs loved it, too.

This home has it all and is very clean! We loved the beach cruisers, and were able to ride the bikes and be at the beach in just a few minutes. The new Publix is literally at the end of the street. This home is clean, well stocked with everything you could possibly need including beach towels, chairs, coffee, condiments, games…neighborhood is very quiet and location was amazing! We took our little senior dog and she loved it. We will definitely be back! A little slice of paradise! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

This home met or exceeded all of our expectations. It was clean, it was beyond pet friendly, the beds were comfortable, and the everything was stocked: from the linens to the kitchen.
Unfortunately for us, it was a rainy weekend, but the house was amazing, even for this. There is a large TV in the front room, which is connected to several streaming services, allowing us to watch movies. There are some fun board games we tried out. And we even pulled out the guitar to play a few songs and teach my sons a few chords.

As soon as we arrived, we felt at home. This house wasnt just a rental house, it was home for a few days. Super clean and updated. From the furnishings to the board games, everything was well-thought-out. Everything you may need was there and more. You will truly be amazed. Location was great. A short bike ride or walk to the beach, icecream and doughnut shop, Publix grocery store and a great BBQ restaurant. We have zero complaints about this rental home. Also, on top of it all, they are large dog friendly which is a rarity. We look forward to staying again and you will too.

Perfect home for your fur babies. Very clean and fully stocked! Walking distance to Publix, restaurants, ice cream, etc. About a 6 min walk to the beach. Easy check in & check out. You won't regret booking this house.

I had read all the reviews before booking and STILL was amazed at what I had wasted time packing. There really is practically nothing you could need that isn't there already. It was like going to stay with family without the family. We chose this place because it was the first trip our senior dog was going to have at the beach. First and foremost him being allowed to come even though he was big was awesome. Rottweilers aren't welcome at many places. Sadly our big bubby didn't live to make the trip. We kept an eye out for Bedford but didn't see him. We will definitely choose this place again if it is available on a future trip. Everything was wonderful.. it truly was.

The Almost was a wonderful base for our extended stay in Oak Island! Very clean, stocked with everything we needed and a fenced yard for the dogs located in a quiet, safe neighborhood. Great communication with our host. It was obvious he takes pride in this home and providing an exceptional experience for his guests! Thank you!!

We had a wonderful stay at The Almost/Tranquil Harbor. The house was perfect for us and our dogs. It was comfortable and well designed with everything we needed to feel at home during our stay. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable and the living space was cozy for relaxing and watching TV in the evenings. We especially appreciated the abundance of towels and cleaning supplies to help us keep the place clean of dog hair and sand. Our dogs loved the dog treats and the back yard. The neighborhood was the best for walks and bike rides and quick easy access to the beach. Fantastic dining spots and friendly islanders make this a wonderful destination when we head south to get a break from Michigan winter weather. The owner was easy to contact and quick to respond to our needs. We loved our stay and hope to return next year.

we loved the place. would love to own something like this. perfect for us. communication about getting in was a little shakey, but that was probably our fault too, we didnt know the address or how to get in, and contacted the owner instead of vrbo. that didnt go over very well. almost cancelled. little afraid to go, but we did. glad we did.
