The Sands of Kahana was a perfect location for our family vacation. The description and reviews provided were a good summary of the facility. Some updating is necessary but overall the facility was perfect. Seeing sea turtles and whales from the balcony was fantastic. Could not find a better location.

We really enjoyed our stay! However didn’t like that they only supplied one roll of paper towel for an entire week stay. They said they only provide a starter amount! 🙄 with the amount of $ ya pay to stay here I would think they would supply the basic house hold items needed. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.

The accommodations were comfortable, all the amenities were great, and the home had everything to make and prepare a home cooked meal. We would not hesitate to stay again when we return to Maui. Great place for our bigger group! The Penthouse was beautiful!The Beach house Bar and Grill had delicious food and drinks. Loved the Coconut shrimp! Even saw some whales off of the beach. My only complaint was that we had to check out by 10am. It seems a little early for check out.

The pictures don’t do this property justice! Absolutely stunning views and stunning property. Unfortunately we had some issues with the property owners that I wish were handled in a different manner. When we arrived at this property we were informed that the elevator was down and we were on the penthouse suite (8th floor). The elevator ended up being down for the duration of our stay. I contacted the management group to see if there was They could do and they said they would give us our money back and we could find somewhere else to stay as we were already getting too good of a deal on the place. I did not appreciate the managements lack of willingness to help us come up with a solution and instead just telling us leaving was our only option. Other guests staying at private properties at Kahana Sands told us they were able to be moved to lower floors to lessen the stairs. I had 2 60 year old guests with me that struggled with the stairs and this definitely put a damper on the trip. I understand the elevator is out of managements control, but some compassion would’ve been nice.

The Condo is perfect for a large family with kids. We had enough space to spread out and enjoy the wonderful views. Great location as well.

We had an amazing stay!! The unit was perfect for our extended family. We enjoyed the spacious accommodations! The bedroom upstairs was perfect for the kids to share with 2 beds and a futon and its own private bathroom. We had 2 additional bedrooms downstairs for ourselves and grandpa, each with its own bathroom. We loved having the kitchen and being able to cook some meals at the condo. The views were amazing! Balcony overlooking the ocean where we saw sea turtles swimming every day! The beach chairs and floats were great to have access to bring to the beach. Beautiful and comfortable furnishings throughout. Would definite stay here again!

Absolutely Beautiful an well equipped - very clean too.Mater bathroom is right out of a magazine. walking across the street for food or beverages was super simple, I loved all the high end touches and appliances ! We had stopped at Costco to load up on food and drinks-but the refrigerator didn't keep anything cool and we had to eat out and get ice for 5 of the 10 days. When property mgmt did get a technician to come fix it, he said the coils were dirty and that's why it didn't get to the correct temperature. I am still waiting for a response for some reimbursement as I requested.,.

Overall this is a lovely place to stay and would stay here again. The beach access and amenities fit our needs just perfectly. The location was great. One big drawback: the bird poop on the lanai of the main floor guest room eliminated its use. While we understand mother nature has her way, Cleaning and improvement needs to occur or advertising needs to say one lanai is unusable. Perhaps the owner could offer removable outdoor furniture covering to keep the furniture usable. At least then footwear and not touching the guardrail would make it usable. Minor insect issues (ants/bugs) but we have had that on a previous Hawaii visit and can deal. Management easy to communicate with and quickly addressed bug issue as best as they could but offered only an apology about the bird poop.

It is a clean, comfortable place with an awesome view and balconies for all bedrooms. We sat out on the deck and watched turtles and swimmers in the water below. The 3 beach chairs and large cooler were very helpful on day excursions (beach umbrella is broken). We were worried that the apartment sized water heater would run out of hot water so we all took quick showers, but we never ran out. A couple of issues we found - The balcony for the lower north bedroom had water on it that the birds liked, so bird poop covered the window and patio. The shower in the lower south bedroom has two plates with waterfall holes in the bottom, but there is a crack between the plates on one side so water sprays where you don't want it to. We found a few little bugs (could be ants, but are smaller than sugar ants) in the lower north bathroom, and a few in the kitchen. Not enough to cause alarm, and we made sure to kill the ones we found and keep crumbs picked up. All of the furniture is in great shape, and the beds were all very comfortable. The location was nice for many of the activities we did (beach, scuba lessons, surf lessons, Lahaina downtown), but longer drives (40+ minutes) for some places (Road to Hana, Haleakala, Kehei, airport). The complex where this place is located is very nice with a helpful concierge, beach lounge chairs, pool, restaurant, beach equipment rental, sand showers, and underground parking right near the elevator. The air conditioning and ceiling fans worked well in every room and an extra floor fan found in one closet was helpful as well. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the utensils and appliances you find in any kitchen, and the laundry washer and dryer were newer and worked well. Overall, it was a great place and we would come back again.

This condo was perfect for our two families. It had the most spectacular views - two islands out in the distance, surrounded by ocean; view of the beach below, and beautiful sunsets, all from our balconies. Each room has a balcony with seating and views of the ocean. Large windows throughout the house for amazing views. Rooms, closets and bathrooms were spacious; the dining table was enough for all of us to eat together. Mattresses were extremely comfortable in all rooms. We cooked a few meals on the grills outside - there were plenty of them available. We could also see sea turtles swimming in the water below, looking out from the balcony. We enjoyed using the beach chairs in the closet. And we were happy shampoo/conditioner/soap was provided, so we didn't have to pack that. There were also some trash bags and some laundry detergent there. The washer/dryer helped immensely. Floors were solid flooring throughout, so it was easy to sweep. Check in/out process was simple and smooth. We brought our own beach towels, and bought safe sunscreen once on the island (most sunscreens are banned in HI, so it was safest to buy there). We also bought snorkel gear once there, and left it in the beach wagon in the closet for others to use. Every day we were able to snorkel from the beach and see sea turtles! The pool was nice, right by the beach. There were always chairs available by the beach. Within walking distance to coffee shop, general store and a few restaurants.

Absolutely loved this 3 bedroom 3 full bathroom luxury condo. Ocean views from every bedroom and balcony. 2 bedrooms downstairs and 1 large bedroom with the extra bed/futon upstairs. AC worked perfect the entire time in all rooms. We never had to call for any type of service or need. It was great to have the restaurant and bar on site just downstairs and quick easy access to the beach right outside. Would highly recommend staying here.

The condo was exactly as described, well-stocked with the essentials, and the interior photos were accurate. The resort itself is a little worn out, but the location was good. The view was excellent.

We couldn’t have asked for a better location. The views off all three balconies were amazing. Condo was very nice for all eight of us.

This listing was highly deceiving. Although the views truly are beautiful, the condo is in terrible condition. Just to list a few: - Ants everywhere, woke up to ants even on our toothbrushes - Sevral roaches spotted. - Floor boards lifting, causing major tripping hazard. - All air filters clogged and covered in dust. - Meldew in all the showers. - Water damage on baseboards causing them to lift off the wall. - Patios covered in thick meldew. For the price paid this was absolutely unacceptable. Reached out regarding the issue and asking for a partial refund and got nothing back. I have pictures and proof of everything that was listed above.

We absolutely loved our stay at this condo. From the moment you walk in you realize that it is better than the pics you see on the website. The view from the three balconies will instantly put you in vacation mode. We spent a lot of time out on the balconies watching whales breach, slap their tales and flukes, beautiful sunsets, and turtles right off the beach. Everything worked to include the AC, full size washer and dryer, coffee pot (very important), we did not have a single complaint. The condo is not too far from one of the best places you'll ever snorkle at, Honolua Bay. We had no issues sleeping 10 with all the beds available. We will definitely be staying here again during our next trip to Maui.

Property was great for a family vacation. We were 9 people including small children and the condo was wonderful. Location, facilities, cleanliness, and beautiful vista's made this an enjoyable experience for everyone.

The view was spectacular! The condo was very spacious with decks accessible by each bedroom. We loved the unit and would stay there again.

My wife and I took our parents on their first trip to Hawaii and our stay couldn’t have been better. There was plenty of space for all of us and the views of the sea from literally every room were incredible. Can’t recommend enough!

We had a group of 6 adults and stayed a week in this lovely 3 bedroom unit. Everything was beautiful and perfect!! We all had our own bedroom s and en suite bathrooms. The views were amazing!! The whale watching was incredible. The property is very pretty and well maintained. Hopefully we will be back soon!! Mahalo. Carolyn and friends.

Stayed for a week with friends and the condo was well worth it! The views were dreamy, the beds and bedding were very comfortable! The staff responded very quickly to any questions or needs, 10 min in one instance! Centralized location. Really we had no complaints! Highly recommend, we would definitely book again!

The property was everything we imagined. Views of the ocean from every room and bathroom. Peace and quiet of the whole property, which is what we were there for. When reaching out for minor issues, the property managers were quick to respond. Overall, we had a great experience and look forward to returning very soon!

Great experience here in this wonderful 3 bedroom. Very well decorated and awesome views. Super comfortable and plenty of room to have your own space. Saw turtles from balcony every morning. Loved the unit.

Everything was good except for the ANT problem… very few downstairs but plenty in the room upstairs beware though because they already are aware of this problem but do very little to solve it but charges a lot for the stay.
