We had a great time in Gulfport

This is a nice, roomy house for a bunch. Six of us felt like we had enough room. The kitchen's a little tight, depending on the cook and the size of the meal. It did seem like more than two blocks to the beach. As Debra says, the house is near the RR tracks. It didn't bother us, but know that the train trundles by a few times/day. Debra is a fantastic host. Very welcoming and responsive. We would stay again should we return to Long Beach

Very large, plenty of room for large families or a group of people

The house was perfect. We had 7 people snd there was enough room that no one felt crowded.

We had a wonderful time staying at Mermaid House. The owner was extremely pleasant and easy to communicate with with an almost immediate response time. She even offered to bring us donuts one morning which I thought was really thoughtful. I have been burned once with a bad VRBO but her place was exactly as described! The beach towels and chairs were very nice to have because we did not have to pack them from home. Close enough to walk to the beach but we drove because we our family never travels light. 😆 We will most certainly book here again the next time we come to Gulfport. Thank you for giving us a great VRBO redemption!!

This house was great! It was big enough that our family had room to spread out, but still spend time together. Kitchen was well stocked for us to be able to cook a few meals. Location was good. Quiet neighborhood, just a short drive to the beach. The only complaint I got from the family was the mattresses in the back bedroom were a bit thin. Would be good for young people under 30! Other than that, was a great place and would stay here again.

The Mermaid house was the perfect place to stay for our long weekend in Gulfport! We had plenty of room for everyone in our group. The house was very spacious, clean, and close to the beach!

Mermaid House was everything we expected. The fenced in back yard was a must for our two dogs. They had lots of room to run & play. The house is located close to the railroad tracks. It got noisy at times but generally, the neighborhood was very quiet. Overall, we had a very nice time touring the area and found Mermaid House to be adequate for our needs.

Our entire family had a very enjoyable visit at the Mermaid House. Would sincerely look forward to visiting again. Thanks to the owner for sharing her lovely home with us.

Not only was Debra a great host to deal with, this place was awesome! You cannot ask for a better location. You are close to restaurants in Gulfport and Long Beach! The place was very comfortable and Debra did all she could to make sure our stay was wonderful. Thank you and we look forward to staying here again!

Mermaid Cottage was perfect for us. It is located central to most any place on the Gulf Coast with easy access.

We had no problems with renting this property

No problems at all, everything went real smooth the manager informed me of any problems she had before my arrival to correct them. Property was very nice.

We usually cram into places on vacation, but not here. This little cottage was the perfect size. Lots of place to sleep and lounge around. Dogs loved it. Great location right next to the beach. Everyone was comfortable and happy. Debra is a great host.

Just an amazing place and wonderful location! The front porch with the gulf breeze was our favorite evening family time. I will definitely be back!

The house was clean and very spacious. More than enough room for our family. It was decorated very nicely and had nearly everything we needed. The neighborhood felt safe and quiet(aside from the occasional train which is expected). We have been coming to the Gulfport area every summer for the last 7 years and always enjoy our beach vacation here. The beach is just a couple minutes away, just barely too far to walk comfortably for us and our beach items. The sand is beautiful and we love that the water stays shallow a long way out so our young daughters can play easily and safely. Our only complaint is that the air conditioner doesn’t seem to be able to keep up with the heat. The first day we thought it might have been off while it was empty and just needed time to cool down. It cooled enough to sleep comfortably and stayed cool and 72° in the morning but when the day heated up the house got back up to 84° despite having kept all the fans on and curtains drawn. When I contacted the host about it I was told the A/C was working fine and to keep the fans on and curtains closed, which we were already doing to no avail. She also offered to get a window unit out of the shed for us to install. Neither my husband nor I felt comfortable installing a window unit in someone else’s house and honestly didn’t feel we should be expected to do so on our vacation. From around noon until 6 or 7pm every day of our stay the house was consistently 84°. Not exactly ideal when you come back from the beach hoping to cool down. Aside from the lack of cooling the house was nice and if that issue were to be taken care of we would book it again.

Check in was quick and easy. Location was in a great spot. Would definitely stay again if we come back.

This was the perfect vacation home for our large family! It was clean, spacious, and a great location.

Mermaid Beach House is incredible! Spacious, comfortable, and close to the beach and downtown. Our family of nine had five adults and four young boys and we had plenty of space. The master bedroom suite is fabulous and very private so my husband was able to work remotely. The kids loved the huge "bunk house" bedroom in the back of the house. They stayed back there and had a blast so the rest of the family could talk and socialize without the racket, lol! The bunk house opens into a huge fenced back yard so they were going in and out to play and we didn't have to worry about them. The kitchen had everything we needed although there are a lot of good restaurants close by. The front porch was GREAT, as well as the BIG back yard! The beach here is the best on the Coast--just two blocks away from Mermaid house you'll find miles of white sand beach and a boardwalk. The host, Debra, is really professional and friendly--she obviously put a lot of love into renovating this house. Oh, and it was the cleanest vacation rental we've ever stayed in. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend Mermaid Beach House to anyone wanting a great getaway. I can't say enough good things about our wonderful week at Mermaid Beach House!

Everything about this place was fantastic! It is conveniently located to the beach, casinos, restaurants, Walmart and much more. The "Bunkhouse" is perfect for children. The hostess and the property manager are hospitable! The neighbors are friendly, yet respectful of your privacy.

The property was awesome! Just as described. The owner was nice and very helpful. Great space!

It accommodate my family of 11 and it was located in a quiet neighborhood.
