My sister and I stayed for 4 nights while visiting our elderly mother. The good: - It was clean, fresh, and newly renovated. - We didn't cook while we were there but the kitchen seemed adequately supplied with dishes, etc. - The location is only a few minutes from downtown Black Mountain, but the neighborhood itself does not lend itself to walking. The bad: - There is a keyless entry, which is good, but it was rather finicky. Perhaps the batteries needed replacement. - There is clearly a moisture problem in this unit and the mildew smell was very strong. Every time we returned, the smell was somewhat overpowering and we weren't sure we could stay. - The property is listed as a "lower unit," you should know that it is someone's basement that was turned into an apartment. This means anytime someone walks around upstairs, it sounds like they are walking right on top of you. I am not sure if the people upstairs could hear us or not, but you are basically just staying in someone's house. I'm not sure there is anything that can be done to mitigate this, so just be aware. - there were mini-split units for heat/AC but no instructions. We eventually got the heat to come on but were quite cold prior to that - it was below freezing outside and there weren't any extra blankets. If the mildew problem is addressed and/or the price is significantly lowered, it might be a reasonable rental. I am generally not a complainer, but we would not stay here again.

Our family really enjoyed our stay! Everything was very clean and it was nice being so close to downtown Black Mountain. Would definitely stay here again!

While the property itself is lovely and just as pictured, I was very sick during our scheduled visit ( it was a 3 night stay Friday- Monday). Thus, I asked the property manager early in the week if we could move our dates to a differnet weekend. He said no, so I tried to power through. We didn't arrive until Saturday (forfeiting our Friday night) as I was feeling so bad. We were there maybe an hour before I received a call from my Dr. telling me to immediately go to the hospital as some tests from the prevoius day had come back and needed attention. So we packed and left and I spent the next 2 days in the hospital. I emailed the manager to let him know we were there maybe an hour and had to leave. He didn't offer any sort of pro-rated refund or even a cleaning fee refund. So while the place is beautiful, I would not rent from this particular property manager again.

This place has recently been renovated and is so cute. It’s location is just a short drive to Asheville and between many places to hike. We would stay again.

Everything was great. The owner had everything in perfect condition, the location was good (close to town, yet not in the busy traffic area), and easy to book.

The apartment is amazingly clean, spacious and welcoming. Everything you need is provided and the location is about 20-25 minutes from everywhere you want to be. Great host, great area, fun locals and staying here made it the perfect weekend getaway!

Great place to relax and unwind. Enjoyed the mornings sitting on the patio with mountain air and coffee. Of note the road to the rental is narrow, drive slow, and be aware of oncoming trucks and cars.
