De ligging tov de pistes

Het appartement was veel te klein om met 3 personen in te verblijven (en het wordt zelfs verhuurd als 4p appartement). Er staat een stapelbed in een soort van kast en een slaapbank in de minuscule woon/eetkamer. Het complex is extreem verouderd en niet onderhouden, het geld dat met de verhuur wordt verdiend wordt absoluut niet gestopt in onderhoud en upgrade. Zo is oa de vloerbedekking vies, is er geen kastruimte en was er onvoldoende heet water (ketel) om voor 3 personen op een normale wijze te douchen! Dit staat nergens vermeld. Niet fijn na een dag op de piste. Ook is de studio niet/zeer slecht geïsoleerd en heb je 's nachts erg veel geluidsoverlast van andere (dronken) toeristen vanaf de straat. Zonder oordoppen is slapen zo goed als onmogelijk. Verder is de skilocker niet verwarmd en is er geen ruimte voor 3 paar ski's/snowboards + schoenen. De beheerder (immoblier Val Thorens) erkent de problematiek en het slechte onderhoud maar zegt er niks aan te kunnen doen en schuift alle verantwoordelijkheid af op de eigenaar. Het personeel van Immoblier Val Thorens is erg arrogant en weet toch wel dat je na een week weer vertrekt. Ik hoef geen extreme luxe op wintersport maar in dit geval adviseer ik om verder te zoeken naar een andere studio, deze zorgt enkel voor frustratie en irritatie!

La situation par rapport aux pistes de ski

Nous avions reservé un appartement pour une semaine et pour un couple. A notre grande surprise en arrivant à l'appartement minuscule. Pas de rangement, un lit superposé pour un couple, séparé par une cloison tres étroite, c'est lamentable. On a l impression de dormir dans un placard. Aucune place pour les affaires et valises. Nous avons contacté l'agence pour leur faire part de la situation. Ils nous ont proposé 2 solutions moyennant un supplément de 400€. Le soir même quand nous avons confirmé notre choix pour l'un d'eux, on nous informe que ce n'est pas possible. Le couple concerné avec annulé la reservation et subitement ce couple avait decidé de venir quand même. Soit disant c était trop compliqué avec l'assurance annulation. Il faut arrêté de prendre les gens pour des cons. Finalement au bout d'une heure ils nous ont trouvé un appartement au dessus de l'agence avec supplément de 400€. Nous sommes arrivés à la station à 16h et à 21 heure nous étions encore en train de déménager tous nos affaires. Entre courir pour voir les appartements dispo et le déménagement nous avons perdu du temps et nous étions épuisés surtout après 8h de trajet. C'est honteux de louer ce genre d'appartement à un tel prix.

The window has been broken when arrived, then it was fixed with scotch tape in a insufficient way. Three light were not functioning upon the arrival, then they were fixed upon notice. The agency should have at least informed me in advance prior to arrival that the window on the balcony door has been broken. So I had to pay the full price for an inferior set up

The location, set on the slope in the heart of Val Thorens, was excellent. It was very conveniently located for parking, skiing, equipment hire and Apres-Ski.

Sadly the apartment was very shabby in terms of finish (basic bathrooms, exposed pipes, flimsy toilets), maintenance (radiator propped against wall, black tape on toilet, lose service panels) and bedding (old pillows, blankets and duvets didn't give a clean feel). There was a lack of basic items in the apartment (towels, shower products, soap, toilet roll, kitchen products, dishwasher didn't work for lack of salt/detergent). Finally, leaving the apartment at the end of the stay was very onerous. We had a long list of chores to complete and then had to hike across town with the bedding.
