The owners were very thoughtful, welcoming and friendly. A car park had been reserved for us at the property and we were helped with getting our suitcases up the flight of stairs. The room was extremely clean and modern and unexpectedly it was serviced during our stay. We had a lovely view of the coastline from our room as well as the breakfast room. Breakfast was very good and providing a GF breakfast was easy to organise. A great location to walk into town - though it is a steep walk back up the hill.

Daniel, our host, was the best. Eager to please and help with all our needs. Breakfast choices were good with full breakfast or cereal, fruit and yoghurt also available.

Just the space was a little smaller than we are used to but still quite adequate for our 3 night stay.

Everything, friendly, helpful, amazing breakfast & will certainly return there on our next visit.

We booked Lucerne for my mother who is 85 and needed accommodation over Easter while we stayed in Lyme. The staff were so kind and friendly. She loved her room -the bed was so comfortable. And the TV played her favourite radio station. She commented so often about the beautiful view from the breakfast area. The access down to the sea front was manageable for her and staying at the Lucerne made the weekend all the better! We will definitely book again!

View from the bedroom and the breakfast room were lovely, with views over the bay. The couple who are taking over the management of Lucerne were really friendly and helpful, but they're not fully in charge and/or in residence yet, so I think we were caught in between old/new management.

For two people, the room and en-suite were tiny. Very little room to move around. The heating only came on for an hour in the morning, and there was no heating in the evening. When I asked the owner to put the heating on the first evening, his reaction indicated he would comply with great reluctance. I phoned the second evening, but no reply on both numbers, so we spent a chilly evening. No excuse for this, guys - it's an absolute basic requirement in October.

The view was wonderful! Also the breakfast. The room had all the facilities we needed and the bed was comfortable. The shower we had difficulty with is being replaced next month.

Nothing much could have been better. It is at the top of a fairly steep hill, because of the geography of the area. So, not the best place if hills are a struggle perhaps?
