Quintessential VT farmhouse, not too fancy, very liveable and cozy with plenty of space for a family gathering. The wood stove and bedding kept us more than warm enough. Joanna and Eric were incredibly thoughtful and immediately responsive to any questions. They even left us a tree stand and ornaments so that we could have a tree! Though we didn’t have a white Christmas, it was a great experience. Would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the lakes, trails, and gardens!

We booked this to go with another couple and a single and there would have been heaps of room for us all, but they had to cancel at the last minute. So the house was large for just 2 but very cosy, nicely furnished, and with a very easy and effective wood stove. There is a gorgeous view, and we saw the Milky Way very clearly one night. The house was most generously provisioned with everything we could possibly want, and the vegetable garden still had salad greens, tomatoes and kale that we were allowed to harvest: the whole trip felt as if we were living the dream in our own house in VT -- without all the worries that would actually insure. Eric and Joanna were generous and flexible and allowed us to change our dates at the last minute, even re-funding to us the difference in price.

The house is very comfortable and perfectly appointed. It's an old farmhouse with the uniqueness of a house built long ago and with beams. It's beautifully maintained and the large yard with flowers and vegetables a delight. The kitchen is well-stocked and the appliances up-to-date. My granddaughter thought the yard was her playground. She loved it. The beds were comfortable and the house heated as well as a wood stove in the kitchen for extra warmth. It was a perfect place for our stay!

We had a fantastic time! The house was very clean and neat. The yard and gardens were beautiful and spacious. When we had a question, the owner was very responsive. Overall, a great stay. Highly recommend this house, especially great for two families.

Beautifully maintained farmhouse on a quiet road with view of corn pasture and rolling NEK hills in background. We love this area--it is active farmland. The house is clean, well appointed with comfortable beds and nice kitchen. Eric and Joanna are some of the best rental hosts we have ever dealt with. They gave us all the information we needed and we can tell they love their house and neighborhood. We thank them for sharing that with us!

Great place for a winter weekend. Kitchen is well equipped. Owner was very kind and clean up tasks before leaving were simple.

This is a lovely old Vermont farmhouse with all modern convenience. The house has lovely views of rolling hills and is close to wonderful xc skiing. The owners were fabulous to work with and helped in every way we wished.

Beautiful old house, clean and well stocked. Room layout is a little quirky but great for families with kids. Close to Craftsbury for fantastic skiing and other outdoor activities. Host was excellent, quick to answer questions and provides lots of helpful information about the area. Would definitely return in the future.

We were looking for someplace nice to stay while enjoying winter in Vermont and this fit all our needs perfectly. We had some cozy evenings here between skiing sessions.

Great base, 1 hr from Stowe or Jay Peak. Awesome wood stove kept us warm in -20F temps, and Eric was super helpful with an unexpected dead car battery

The house was well set up with a well stocked kitchen. There was only 1 shower, but 2 toilets. Check in was very easy, and the overall experience and location was great!

We stayed at this beautiful home for my brothers wedding weekend and were very pleased with the property and the shops nearby. The home is well cared for (stocked and tidy and we felt very comfortable) and the hosts were accommodating and informative through the stay. Our dogs were at peace the whole time! Great find and would love to come back for a longer vacation.

We are a very large family and we were all in the NEK to celebrate my mom’s life of almost 99 years. The farmhouse is right around the corner from the cemetery where we laid her to rest. My family and close friends were able to have plenty of room and a place to relax after the gathering in West Glover.

We have rented quite a few places in the Northeast Kingdom, from East Burke to Lyndon to Barton, but this was by far our favorite find. It’s even more idyllic than the beautiful photos suggest. We enjoyed the sunsets on our evening dog walks, and we had a wonderful time exploring the area. Shadow Lake is within biking distance, and we also drove to Lakes Caspian and Willoughby, where we spent the afternoon paddle boarding. On other days, we biked at Kingdom Trails and even made a day trip to Burlington. Most nights, we dined at home in order to enjoy the sunsets and wildflowers, but we had some great dinners out as well, most notably at the Blackbird Bistro in Craftsbury and The Gap in Westmore, near Lake Willoughby. Eric and Joanna were beyond hospitable, encouraging us to harvest fresh veggies from their garden, which we did. They also left us some welcome treats, for us and for our dogs. They offered lots of suggestions and were communicative and helpful. The front porch swing offers a panoramic Green Mountain vista; the picnic table out back is a peaceful spot for admiring the garden. We also recommend the General Store in Craftsbury and the quaint village of Hardwick.
