The staff was really friendly and service minded. We had our dog with us, and it was such a good experience! The room was big, clean and quiet. The hotel has a spa that looks pretty new and is very clean. All in all a very good hotel 👍

The staff assisted us with our rental car, helping us pick up and drop off the rental over the weekend. Staff was great, let us enjoy our visit without worrying about the rental. Great customer service.

I really enjoyed my stay! My room was very beautiful and clean. It was very comfortable and I had everything I needed. The weights were a bit too heavy for me though, I think they were 3 kg and 5 kg. I probably could have asked for lighter but I didn't think about it. Overall, it was a great treat for myself!

No real issues other than being a bit worn and few tv channels. Had usb plugs. Good buffet. Quiet. I do think that you dont have to stay right in the old town. Some of the cheaper options were in fine if not better neighborhoods. Not much to Kalmar.

Very good breakfast with good products. Both the scrambled eggs (smooth and tasty) and the cream for the pancakes were lactose-free. Clean and comfortable rooms with very central location Mycket bra frukost med bra produkter. Så väl äggröran ( len och god) som grädden till pannkakorna var laktosfria. This is a lovely property centrally located and an easy walking distance to the castle and shopping. The DR had delicious food just very slow kitchen and food not very hot. Lovely serving staff at both breakfast and dinner. Sauna in our room but it took a long time to heat up

Nice hotel in the centre of Kalmar. You can walk around and find many places to eat and several places to go shopping. It is quiet and has very helpful staff.

Great location. Close to domkyrka and läns museum. Bars. Restaurants and shops at walking distance. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Great breakfast buffet. Only reason why it’s not excellent is because there was no spare toilet paper in the bathroom. I had to use the toilet downstairs at the checkout. Quite disappointing for the quality of the hotel.

Rooms were clean, breakfast buffet had good selection of food and was well presented. Only hassle was the parking: No space available and we had to park on the communal parking area. Normally not a big deal - but even the short-term parking outside the lobby was completely blocked for more then ten minutes when we checked out. And walking with suitcases and bags isn't very pleasant even if it's only 300 to 400 meters. But to close with a positive thing: communal parking is very cheap - 30SEK per 24h.

Great location, but hotel really outdated and rooms (we had two different rooms in different parts of the hotel) had very poor climate. One room smelled like sewage and the other was very warm and humid despite it not being warm days and two fans were running continuously. Beds were very soft and uncomfortable so would not recommend for longer stays. Be aware that the hotel is not very accessible (we were traveling with older family members), with stairs between the hall ways (not accessible be elevator). On the positive note was friendly staff and decent breakfast, but for sure not worth the money :-/

wonderful staff. They were friendly and handled our requests very promptly and professionally. Also the catering staff were very friendly and prompt The breakfast is great with plenty of options. - The only thing on the rather negative side is the condition of the property and cleanliness. First we got a very small room on the corner, and the lady in the reception kindly changed us to a newer and a much bigger room. We expected the condition of the room and the furniture to be new. However, there was an old fun that produces so much noise. Also there was a stool with a big stain on it.

A unique historical property. Our bathroom even had a sauna. It’s in a great location.

The hotel is nicely located, and breakfast was nice. The shower unfortunately is very bad - there isn't any separation between shower and toilet seat & other areas. So after a shower, the whole toilet was wet - very unpleasant experience. Very badly designed.

Two night stay, and happy to report very comfortable beds - the best we have experienced in Kalmar. Breakfast was standard Swedish affair, and all fresh and topped up. Service from the staff was super. Bathroom a little tight.

Rooms are spotless, excellent mix of old world charm and modrrn convenience, attached pub with solid selection of single malts. Best value.

They had a “happy hour” with soup and bread (had to buy your own drinks) I the evening which was nice because we had been on the road for 3 hours. The room was spacious and had a refrigerator which was nice. Location was close to everything we wanted to see there. Staff was helpful with parking. Huge breakfast buffet in the morning.

Charming hotel near shopping, restaurants, The Cathedral, underground parking (not free), bar, buffet for breakfast and lunch, free breakfast, free soup and cheese and bread 1700-2100.

Nice building, good breakfast. Only drawback: combining different buildings means up and down stairs to reach our room -- on the same floor! Staff should advise guests to use the BACK elevator and save climbing unnecessary steps

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past 25 years. Occasionally I try another Kalmar hotel, but there really is not much to chose from. Calmar Stadshotell probably rates a grade of B-. It has a sort of tired look. If the Reception Desk personnel were less bored and a bit more interested in their hotel guests I would bump it up to a B. Some helpful hints for those who plan to stay there. If you have a lot of luggage to bring to the room, park your car on the corner while you check in. Get a room in a hallway that does not have additional mandatory stairs on your particular floor. There is an elevator, but Reception doesn't mention that additional stairs exist in many hallways. They have no Porter. Make sure that Reception is specific as to the parking lot you should use. There are several parking lots two blocks away, but not all provide overnight parking. No parking personnel. There is a payment box in the lot near the sidewalk. There is no A/C. It can be very hot in July and August. Ask for a fan. Not all rooms have them. You'll probably need additional hangers too unless three suffice for you. On the plus side: location, usually quiet neighborhood, and adequate breakfast .

The space around the bathroom sink was somewhat clumsy since there was no place to put things like a brush or other personal items. Service at dinner was slow and inattentive. I liked the balcony, the door to the room would close behind me as I went out and I would invariably forget the room key and need to go down to reception and get a copy to get back into the room.
