Do not book the "hotel rooms". They are the farthest away from everything and the noise factor from the AC exhaust for the whole complex will keep you awake. It runs constantly. Grounds are fine, including Castaway restaurant. Also, be aware of any current construction. They began at 9AM every morning.

Nice location, reasonable snorkeling rentals on site, premier snorkeling reefs at Kaanapali start only 200 yards away.
Trolley (free) to Whaler's Village runs every half hour much of the day until about 9, which is a nice option.
Minor drawbacks included no icemakers (?).
Overall, nice impression, it compares quite well with nearby properties on value.

This resort is the best kept secret on Kaanapali Beach!
Studio suites had full stainless kitchen, ice cold air conditioning, and is right on the beach with easy access.
Plenty of chairs at the pool and the grounds are spotless. This an an older Hawaii resort with only two story buildings and free parking right outside the rooms. There are hotel style rooms in one building but they don't provide the full kitchen. Go for a studio! This is the third time staying here and never had a problem. Used the gym every morning and coffee was provided every morning from 6-10am at the main building. All of the staff was friendly and courteous, especially Leann at the front desk. Wi-fi is reliable and strong. 3 minute drive down to Whalers Village. Castaway Cafe is a small restaurant on the premises right on the beach. I have stayed at the big name hotels on Kaanapali but they don't come close to this paradise. There is also a walking path which starts at the resort and runs parallel to the beach for around 2 miles. Perfect for walking and jogging with views of the beach, Moloka'i and Lanai. Rate A .

The location of the property was perfect, with the drop off area close and the pool right next to our property. Our housekeeper Julie was outstanding she was kind and very helpful and a pleasure to see. Cant wait for our next visit!

This hotel had everything we could have wanted. When we go back to Maui we will be staying here again. My only complaint was the wait time in getting our room set up, but this was overall a great experience.

The property itself is what you would expect from a 3 star hotel. It was quiet and mostly clean. The real winner is the ocean front views and beach! There were also two pools with hot tubs that were great.

It was super nice to get away from the big resort feel of most of the places on Kaanapali Beach but there are some minor trade-offs that come with it. We missed the big nice pools and ocean views that are at other places but it had great gardens to look at and was always very quiet.

Went here for my anniversary it was amazing and beautiful the beach is very accessible and clean so is the hotel the staff was so friendly and welcoming and helped us get around by showing us a trolly that you can get around to different hotels and shops with they also have rentals right by the pool for cabanas, snorkeling gear, etc and the castaway restaurant had the best views you can see dolphins in the morning and the best view for sunset at night I will definitely be returning.

Wonderful stay, perfect beach and fun pool. Castaway is too expensive and I wish they had a few spices and/or condiments or a small convenience store on site for kitchen cooking.

The shower was the best part of the room. The floor tiles appear old and makes the room feel dirty. It would have been nice to not have the trash containers right outside our door. The front desk staff and concierge were very friendly.

Overall it was a very nice stay. I would say that the walls (we stayed in Banyan) should be cleaned of mold and stairs and walkways need to be swept.
