Poor check-in lost reservation. Upgraded us but it was not what I expected our ocean view was of the swimming pool. outrageous parking fee. you had to pay for the internet - in this day and age - The map of the resort did not show that there was 2 swimming pools so we endured the pool with all the noisy kids and one even mentioned to his mother he would get out after peeing in the pool. The restaurant was badly lit I could not even see the plate of clams that iw as eating, I requested candles and that was a joke - wife's sea bass was overcooked and the clams were so-so. We will never visit this resort again

Great hotel, very friendly front desk staff. Beware of hostess in restaurant. She is extremely rude. Nothing like being scolded for not having a reservation in front of your kids, after the front desk assured you, you wouldn’t need one!. And then listening to her complain about the front desk staff!
Also apparently new self park system and still working out kinks, so was double charged. Still waiting for that to be resolved.

Beautiful views of Dana Point from the hotel and beach full of surfers. Enjoyed the 2 pools and hot tubs on the property. Bonus checking out Salt Creek Beach, one of the most vibrant, clean and fun beaches in Dana Point- Laguna that is 25-30min trolly ride from the hotel. Would definitely stay again.

Staff was amazing, no attitude always willing to help with any question requested. Food in both venues was excellent as well as the attention of staff during service. Room clean and accommodating for our needs. Grounds were clean view of the ocean was breathtaking.

Perfect vacation spot on the beach and 20 minutes from Laguna Beach. Excellent staff at the front desk and in the restaurants. Will most definitely be visiting again.

First of all, I loved the location and the beauty of the building, etc. We were greeted with smiles and offers of help. The rooms, and their views, were lovely. The service was wonderful and the food delicious. My three daughters and I were all very pleased with the service.

Crying baby kept us up two nights because of thin wall at adjoining room door. Loud music at pool started at 8am. Preferred restaurant closed for private event. Pool area nice. Parking is very expensive.

We decided to try Laguna Cliffs Marriott because it was touted as family friendly with plenty of things to do. First, although they knew I was booking 2 rooms b/c we’re a large family, the rooms weren’t connected/joined. Staff came off as cold, unwelcoming; we felt awkward. Also, they need to have better communication or onboarding for 1st time customers. It would have helped to know that they charge $20 per person for continental breakfast (muffin, fruit, and juice or coffee) and $40 per person over the age of 11 at their downstairs restaurant for breakfast—and on top of that, they ask that you make a reservation for breakfast. It felt like we were getting gouged at every turn. Housekeeping decided to stop by at 8 or 9pm on our second night to give us fresh towels. We were very unhappy. We could’ve just gone somewhere else for half the price, and saved some money.

The property is located in a beautiful location. The property is clean and well maintained. The bed is comfortable but would suggest firmer pillows. The parking rate is outrageous, it should be lower.

Most staff was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. Parking staff was made me feel rushed especially was I was not forewarned there was a valet only option I was not organized for a one night stay and although I did not need assistance I needed more than 30 seconds to grab my items and determine what I would need since I wouldn’t easily be able to retrieve something I forgot. Also I didn’t appreciate no where in the description did it note it would cost $60 for parking which if you bothered quoting me the $35 resort fee I would have to pay at the hotel that wasn’t included you surely should have told me about the $60 valet parking fee I would be required to pay since there is no self service parking on site or anywhere nearby.

We booked 2 rooms with partial ocean view and both were the worst rooms they have there. Balcony in one had a very high wall blocking any direct view. Second room was facing the roof and being on the same level as the roof that's all you can see. That should be disclosed before booking. Pillows were very tiny and very uncomfortable. Sheets also were made of very cheap quality. The rooms seemed to be clean. Hotel itself is ok but our rooms were very disappointing.
