While this hotel offers free parking and free breakfast, the positive ends there. All the cons other travelers described were spot-on. During our stay, it was particularly difficult to understand why our room didn’t get cleaned and towels replenished the second day after asking the housekeeper directly and then again making sure with the front-desk staff. While they seemed to have the Southern charm of friendliness, they didn’t seem to understand the issue or to provide a satisfactory answer. Our family did enjoy Charleston but we sure won’t be staying here again.

The first room offered the floor was wet and there was a large black mold on the ceiling, they offered us a different room. The second room had broken lock on the door.
We left a day early because there was no safe in the room we left at 11.20 am and was told there would be no refund or receipt because we booked with Hotels.com
There’s a $50 charge on my credit card for incidentals they say it will be credited back to my card in a few days

There were visible remnants of hair in the shower and nail clippings from a previous guest on the pull-out sofa in our room. The pool and hot tub had debris floating in them. The breakfast was satisfactory, with good coffee, mediocre eggs, and subpar bacon. The muffins were store-bought and of good quality, and the pre-made breakfast sandwiches that were kept warm in a slow cooker were also good. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

Friendly staff. Great location though. I didn’t like the layout of the room. The photos made the room look spacious however the placement of furniture made the room difficult to navigate. Breakfast was pre-warmed waffles in plastic baggies and sausage.

Nice Riverview with balcony. Bathroom needs update especially toilet and rusty microwave in the room. Balcony has built in bench but it’s situated directly above a/c vent in hallway so all the hot air from a/c blows out on bench. Temp was already in 100s at this visit, with hot air from a/c we were unable to use the balcony our entire stay. Banging breakfast tho!

The tub had a rust spot, the toilet backed up we had to get a plunger from Home Depot to take care of it. The bathroom vanity went down extremely slow. Brushing my teeth was an unpleasant experience. The refrigerator didn’t get cold. The mattress was extremely firm which killed my back. The pool experience was

The property was clean and comfortable. It could use some updating in the bathroom. The tub surface was peeling off. Breakfast was great with many options.

I chose the hotel for its location which was beautiful. The breakfast was good but very little gluten free choices were available for me. I was looking forward to spending a relaxing afternoon in the outdoor hot tub before dinner, but it was roped off and out of order. The AC unit in my room was loud and making a knocking noise. The room was clean but the elevators had crushed cornflakes and sunflower seed shells from the bus full of young athletes spending the night. There was no drop off for my room keys and several customers and I had to wait 10 minutes before someone showed up at the desk to check us out. I would rate the place average because this is what I have sadly come to expect when staying in hotels these days…

Assigned us to a room that had some kind of leak that was seeping though the floor tiles. It had no alarm clock, no iron board or iron. Sunday night they allowed people in the pool and hot tub area until 2AM despite that area closing at 10.
Hotel not up to typical Marriot standards Would not recommend this Hotel.

The location is god if you have a car. The lobby and breakfast room are great. The room was fine, the bed very comfortable. but the bathroom needs remodeling. After having spent one previous night in their sister hotel in Beauford, I was a little disappointed.

I’ve stayed in Springhill Suites all over the country and never have I had such bad service. The employee at the desk was not friendly and quite rude. Then when I asked for a later check out to accommodate my schedule I was shocked to hear another employee yell from the back office rudely saying no to my request. There are ways to handle the situation and that wasn’t one of them. I stay in this area a lot for work and I can tell you I will not be coming back.

A great location for easy access to downtown. The surrounding area is beautiful and quiet, and the hotel itself is in great condition. Our only issues were:
-a shower head with extremely poor water flow
-a shower curtain that left the floor soaked
-no fan in the bathroom

The room was spacious and relatively clean. All the case goods were old, rickety and ugly. There was mold/dirt in corners in the bathroom. Although not entirely needed there were two TVs but only one hooked up. I was able to hook up power and cable and got it working.
However, for the price, it is a good value
