Great stay!

My husband and I loved staying here, our room was amazing and the staff were so nice. So much to do. We took a Uber to the Therme Bath and spent the day there highly recommended going there when in Bucharest. I highly recommend this hotel you will love staying here, the breakfast was really good too.

No room service or any option for food after 10PM, everuthing closed , nothing qite near

The rooms are large and quiet, the service is excellent, the furniture could have been morr functional. The breakfast was very good.

Perfect hotel

This was my 3rd stay at Grand Hotel Continental. This is hands down my favorite property in Bucharest's town center. It is classy, elegant, the rooms are the most spacious I have had in any hotel anywhere, boasting beautiful period furniture. I also love the touch of a bottle of wine, fruit basket and box with fresh cookies awaiting in the room upon check in. The hotel has a delicious breakfast buffet (speaking from last year's experience, we didn't do breakfast this time). The gym has been updated (since last year) and it's now in full use. The new feature for this year is a Thai spa which unfortunately I didn't get to try because I only did a 2 night stay this time around and had a full schedule. It looks amazing, though. I was told the furniture is authentic Thai and was shipped over from Thailand. I understand there is a sauna that is free to use for all guests. The front desk has always been nice and friendly and so is the bellman staff. Around the right corner as you look at the front of the building is the famous historic Capșa pastry shop, which is a must try, so delish. There is a convenience store nearby as well as an ATM, just be aware of people coming over to ask you for $ when you take out cash (begging happens quite a bit, never had an issue with anyone begging, just something to be aware of). It's a 10 minute walk to the old town with traditional historic restaurants such as Caru cu Bere. Also close to Museum of Art, Romanian Athenee.

Very nice hotel. Location convenient to old town and most major sites. Should’ve been 5 star but Spa was a big disappointment. We booked the hotel for the spa and were looking forward to using it but Sauna took a very long time to heat up to a hot temperature and Jacuzzi water was cold. We were told it was broken and would be fixed the next day but we talked to other patrons who had been told that multiple days. After we were told it’s fixed, water was even colder and the host said that is its normal temperature. Very hard to relax and unwind from the day in cold Jacuzzi water.

The room was clean and spacious. The reception was beautifully decorated. The staff was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. The only negative point was the pillows ( One was too soft, and the other one was too hard) which were not thick. I still will recommend

Cannot speak more highly of the staff. Helpful and friendly at all times. A pleasure to stay at this hotel. I recommend the place as being absolutely delightful. If you want to relax, be pampered and enjoy your holiday then this is definitely the place.

Excellent hotel in downtown Bucharest

Excellent service

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel and we personally found the bed and pillows comfortable. Well located and close to metro and old town.

This was a nice room and a nice hotel, in a very convenient location to Old Town and some of the main tourist attractions. It was over 100 degrees F (37C) when we visited Bucharest, and it was so nice to come back to a room with decent climate control to cool down at night. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again if I ever come back. If you book this hotel, do it direct using their website (sorry hotels.com). They offer a 20% discount on direct bookings.

Overall a nice hotel. Lacking a decent bar. Breakfast was limited. Did not try the Spa facilities so can’t comment. Good location.

Fabulous hotel with friendly and knowledgeable staff Within walking distance to main attractions including old town and historic sites etc. good breakfast to cater for all tastes Spa has a good choice of treatments at reasonable prices. Overall highly recommend

We had a wonderful one night stay at this beautiful hotel and wish we could have stayed longer. The lobby and reception area are elegant and the staff are welcoming and friendly. We had a twin room which was huge, with windows on three sides. The beds were very comfortable and there was lots of storage space. The bathroom was amazing-I particularly liked the sink (wait til you see it). Breakfast was excellent. So much choice and all delicious. The hotel is very well located, close to a metro station and only a short walk from the old town (not recommended!) and the lovely musical fountains. There are lots of good places to eat nearby too.

View from the room, service, and friendly staff members were great except a leaky sink in the bathroom. We notified them three times but couldn’t be fixed. A bit disappointing at this level of the hotel. Other than that, we were very happy that we stayed here. The first two nights, we enjoyed their gift of fruits and wine.

A delightful, historical stay in Bucharest

By far the best place we stayed on our travels. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Close walking distance to bars and food. One shot bus ride from the airport. Wish we could’ve stayed longer to use all the amenities.

It was well kept with friendly staff. Very close to everything in Bucharest.

Great location, lovely hotel and wonderful personnel. The only thing that bothered us is the SPA including or excluding. After enquiry our booking seemed to be excluded the spa. If we knew that we would have booked. But is not clear or mentioned that our booking were excl. with other words during the booking we felt mislead. Which is shame

Several comments : The housekeeping staff was excellent. Front desk staff were friendly and welcoming but need more training as to when you need reservations or don't for sites that visitors frequent. It would help if they were better informed and didn't give conflicting information. Breakfast buffet was wonderful, the selections were plentiful and high quality. My room was really, really small and given that I was staying for 5 nights it was difficult to maneuver around. It seems like at one time it was part of a suite that was separated off. There was a courtyard area that was quite lovely for relaxing outdoors and reading.

Beautiful building and great location. HVAC did not work well and room always too hot. Staff needs improvement in knowledge and performance of things like making a reservation for a guest.

Elegant and accessible to the old town area. Staff are friendly and available all the time. Cleaning is efficient and cleans daily.
